I wanted to compliment the cashier, Connie, at the CVS CA Folsom blvd location in Sacramento. She was so kind and helpful. She helped me to update my CVS information so I could get the discount I wanted for the item I was buying. I've been to several CVS stores, but no one has ever been as friendly or helpful as Connie. She knew exactly how to help me and was very patient. Connie should be rewarded for her job well done at CVS. If all employees were as noble and great as Connie everyone would shop at CVS all the time. read more

Like most big box pharmacies this one is woefully understaffed and the poor souls behind the counter are frantic and unable to make any real-time decisions unless the computer screen says they can. Just traveled across town to pick up an RX and told I have to wait 1/2 for the pharmacist to return so he can counsel me - on a prescription I've already been taking. A waste of time but I have no choice. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. Just read all the crazy terrible reviews prior to mine. It's all shocking and yet so accurate. I have never been spoken to so rudely in my life from a pharmacy staff member. Your job is to help patients and not take out your issues on them. Denying patient medications and blaming everyone else but the actual pharmacist staff handling it is ridiculous. I have complained to the managers and hope something will finally be addressed. This is patient safety and patient care not some fast food joint. Get it together. read more

This is my local CVS, so I probably go to this one more than any others. And it is completely average. Not the biggest or smallest, nor cleanest or dirtiest. It has a redbox which is nice, and a full selection of seasonal stuff that is rotated out on a monthly basis. I also frequently get my propane here. This place is a nightmare. These guys are always understaffed. Worst service ever. Long long lines. They never answer the phone. It's not the employees fault. They are actually nice. It's ownership and management trying to cut corners. It's walking distance from my house but I'm never going to use this pharmacy again. I've been going to this CVS since it wasn't even a CVS; I think it was a Longs before. I never thought much about the place until I went in the other day for some medicine. I walked up to the counter with a handful of over-the-counter medications and the lady at the checkout said, "Let me first say that I hope they feel better." That was just so super nice. It was early in the morning and yet she was kind and friendly, and actually took the time to see what I was buying and say something nice. I'm a licensed medical professional and this is the worst pharmacy! Even the staff at my doctors office have said this is one of the most difficult pharmacies to deal with. You call in your prescription refill 48 hours ahead of time, ie, on a Weds, and they text you later that same day to say your refill is ready for pick up. You drive there to pick up your medication, only to find out they have not refilled it and they have no idea why you got the text or why the refill isn't ready. This has happened to me over 300 times. Sometimes when they text that the refill is ready, I then drive to the pharmacy and they tell me that it turns out they are literally out of the medication (a very common medication,nothing fancy), and can't fill the refill for another week (this, after they sent me a text stating that the refill was ready for pick up). Leaves me with no medication for over a week. Plus the staff turnover is pretty rapid there, so you're often dealing with new people who have no idea what they are doing! I'm looking for a new pharmacy and, as a registered nurse and former professor of nursing at a major medical center, I suggest you avoid this one, unless you happen to be a personal friend of the pharmacist himself. Pharmacy only review: Super friendly and knowledgeable. The staff (the young men esp) always go the extra step to come out of the pharmacy to help me find something. I can't say enough about the pharmacists and esp the manager Hellen. She runs that pharmacy like it's her own business, is trustworthy and super detailed when it comes to filling my prescription. I have mixed feelings when writing this review. I have been going to this location for over a decade (I am including the time when this was a previous pharmacy). The pharmacy staff had always recognized me and would chat with me while I was waiting for my prescriptions. The general staff, however, acted and looked like they did not care that they were employed there. The front register was often left unattended and a line of five or more customers would start to build up before anyone noticed. I moved from East Sacramento to Natomas and had to switch pharmacies but I always had a fond memory of the phenomenal service that I always had with the pharmacists and the pharmacy staff. However, I recently inquired into the types of drugs that I was allergic to (I have a sulfa allergy). The obvious drugs with the sulfa prefix were always avoided by the pharmacy but after I learned that I was severely allergic to Celebrex (which is a sulfa drug), I checked to see what other drugs contained sulfa. On that list was Sumatriptan (Imitrex®) that I had been prescribed by my doctor and had been filled and refilled by the pharmacy multiple times. On all of my medical documents, it clearly states that I am highly allergic to sulfa drugs. When I was on Imitrex, I would get incredibly nauseous, dizzy, and faint but the drug worked to kill the migraines so I continued to take the pills despite the side effects. I cannot believe how irresponsible the pharmacy was to fill and continue to fill a prescription for which I was allergic. The only reason that I am giving two stars instead of one is because of the care and support that I received from the pharmacy staff even though they were filling prescriptions for me that I was allergic to. read more

Pretty much my "go-to" spot for all of my every day needs (draino, tp, massive quantities of cheap booze). Their prices are always affordable and every once in a while they have some super good deals on booze. Also a great place to do your holiday shopping with their vast selection of different alcohol related gift packs. Dont wait until the last minute unless you want to be stuck with giving your friend a bottle of glenfidditch scotch w/shaker. read more

I always come to this CVS Pharmacy because it's closer to home. The staff members are friendly. Some of them recognize me because I shop there a lot especially for shampoos, conditioners, paper towels, and toilet papers when there is a sale. When items goes on sale, the store limits only a certain amount of stuff to get at a time. Which I don't like. Sign up for a CVS card because it gives you the sale prices for items that are on sale. read more

I used to come to this pharmacy. In fact, I came frequently for over a year while I was quite ill. Frequently, my husband picked up things for me. No problem. Forward to Fall2017: I don't know if they've had a change in management, cut back on staffor what, but it has become the CVS on Elm St! Most of the staff members are rude & in fact I have caught them lying to me! I brought 2 hand written perscriptions, unusual these days, yes, but still legal. I was told that they were copies of perscriptions & were no good! They wouldn't even call the MD! Another time, same M D, they LOST the written Rx's & said I never gave them any! It took 3 weeks & several calls to my MD & requiring his office to call multiple times!Finally, CVS admitted they lost them. I should have changed pharmacies then. The next incident occurred in the drive-through. We were told it would be about 10 minutes, could we come in &wait, which we did. After about 30 minutes we asked again about the Rx & were told there were NO REFILLS!! So why were we asked to come in & wait? & that was by a Pharmacist, not a flunky assistant! Never again will I enter this CVS on Folsome. They are RUDE& incompetent! read more

I don't know why I didn't switch from Rite Aid and Walgreens sooner, this CVS is so nice in location where I'm greeted by friendly joggers vs the usual crackheads and bums with the other competitors and the employees here are awesome. The pharamacy is a serious upgrade in treatment because they definately work with a sense of urgency in refilling your medication and are always greeted with great proffessionalism. Great place for your RX needs! read more

I don't shop here regularly.. But it is close to my job so I stop by for caffeine or snacks every once in a while and the customer service is always great, employees are extremely helpful and friendly. They always greet me. the selection of items even just for a drug store is awesome. I've had a few prescriptions filled here as well and the pharmacy is decent never really had any issues. read more

Very disappointed after waiting a full 24 hours after it being called in to pick up and it's still not ready. "We've been busy, give us 20 minutes". Really!?!?! I came in yesterday to take advantage of the buy one get 2 free deal for Arm & Hammer detergent. The store is well organize clean and the guy that rung me up had fantastic customer service. Frustrated with the pharmacy! We dropped off a prescription - that they confirmed they had in stock - around 6:15pm - they said it should be ready by 8:30pm and they would text me. We never heard anything and so my husband went by a bit before 9pm when they close to check. With him standing right there the pharmacist said "nope - don't want to fill it right now - come back tomorrow - we open at 9am and it won't be ready until 10am." Really frustrating that my husband drove in to get it and they just left him standing there - our daughter needed the antibiotics for an infection! Will not be coming here again! read more

this is for the pharmacy only. the employees for the store part are very nice and helpful. The most incompetent pharmacy I have ever encountered. I was trying to transfer a prescription from a different pharmacy (I moved from PA) for DAYS and it was not getting done. I first tried online and received a confirmation that it went through but didn't get a call that the prescription was filled. I called CVS and they said they did not receive the order and they didn't even have me on file. So I gave them my information and they said to call back the next day to make sure it was done as it was late in the day and the other pharmacy I was transferring from might be closed. So I called the next day and the person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about as I was not entered in the system. There was no message about a prescription that needed to be transferred. They said they would give the information to the pharmacist and fill my Rx right away. Again, I did not receive a call to pick up my Rx. I called AGAIN THE NEXT DAY AND ONCE AGAIN THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT AS I WAS NOT ENTERED IN THE SYSTEM AND NO MESSAGE WAS GIVEN TO THE PHARMACIST. They said they would take care of it right away that same day and give me a call ASAP when it was done. This was at 9am in the morning. I waited for 6 hours and called back at 3pm. This time they had remembered who I was, but said the pharmacist was very busy and had not had a chance to call to transfer the Rx. I asked to speak directly to the pharmacist because it is ridiculous for a Rx transfer to take this much time (I have had to transfer Rxs in the past and they were always done immediately/same day). I was on hold for about 10 minutes and then finally hung up. I switched to Safeway where I spoke directly with a pharmacist (without even needing to ask) and they took care it right away. When I called CVS back to tell them to cancel the Rx transfer, once again they had no idea as I was who I was not in the system and there was no record of me needing a transfer. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me FOUR TIMES, shame on me. read more

The store and the people who work at the STORE, are great and very customer friendly, always say hello and are happy to help. Pharmacy staff is completely the opposite. There are never friendly, seemed annoyed to have customers, give the impression that you're just creating more work for them. Maybe they're over worked but it certainly make it be known. Just tonight we order a prescription at 6:30pm and were told it would be a couple of hours but certainly before they closed. We waited, never received a notice, so at 8:45pm we called to find out the status. No answer... they close at 9pm. With no other choice we drove there, waited in line, finally was told that for some reason it was not ready. The person at the register asked the person behind "hey, do you want to do this ? For some reason , it's not ready". The lady's response: "Nope". With that o was told to come back tomorrow, open at 9am but not likely to be ready until 10am. I have dry cleaners with better service and try are handling dirty close. This pharmacy is supposed to be responsible for people's health... Health and care are clearly not their priority. read more

Tonight we went into this store for a quick snack & check the price on Christmas lights. My husband was watches as if he was about to steal at any second & the cashier, whom had such cheerful, chatty conversation with the customers prior to us, looked through him, around him & up & down him with disgust. I personally believe it was racially motivated, as my husband is a darker skinned Native American. They made their distaste obvious, oblivious to the fact he was professionally dressed, clean cut, clean-shaven, neatly pressed clothes, with more money than her next paycheck in his wallet from his legal hard work. As a white woman, I was more than embarrassed by his treatment & he refused to allow me to speak up on his behalf to a manager or higher. We live in a very nice neighborhood in Land Park & have never one received this type of rudeness before at any other CVS until now. read more
