The two closest ones nearest me were this one, inside a Walgreens, and one in Farmington Hills, so since this one was only about 20-minutes away from me, I opted for it. I made an appointment for the test online, and when you arrive, there are kiosks (on the right-side of the store, once you walk in) where you check in. You will need your driver's license, as the kiosk scans it to gather your information. Someone will call your name, and then take you into the LabCorp area, which was like a mini doctor's office area and something you'd never guess was behind the doors! I didn't get the name of my technician but it only took her one poke to get my blood, which is pretty good in my book; I get bloodwork done frequently and sometimes it takes two or even three pokes. She told me 2-3 days for the results, but UNC has told me 2-4 weeks; when I asked UNC about it, they said normally the lab would give you the results in 2-3 days, but the 2-4 weeks is because they ship it to LabCorp in California and there are a few other steps that need to happen first before I can get the results. I got the test because I want to know if I have COVID-19 antibodies (I have been vaccinated, but am on immunosuppressants), but most people get it to see if they've ever been infected with COVID, I believe.

Today upon picking up a routine medication, I was told by a female pharmacist "I could check in there," without a smile but rather a nod to a screen. There was another female pharmacy tech standing right by the screen who did not greet me. She then stood infront of me without a word and waited for me to answer a list of prompts to "check-in" I would have once considered her job- full name, date of birth, phone number, questions on whether I'd like to be vaccinated. I told her the screen was impersonal, and she quipped back with, "Well, I like it!" Then continued to tell me about how she oftentimes gets screamed at without even being greeted by the customer, which is her job, mind you. It felt highly unprofessional and a role reversal of sorts. She is getting paid to serve me as a customer who is about to pay her hundreds of dollars for a medication, not the other way around. Feedback for the pharmacy- I'm not exactly certain why I'm imputing all of the information into a system on my end now and what the tech's role is other than to hand me my prescription. There was no line, no high guest traffic, etc. For a high paying career, where is the decency of human interaction? I felt so slighted I didn't even make eye contact before grabbing my prescription from what I believe to be an overpaid hand and walking away. I would rather go to a pharmacy where someone was kind and personable to me even if it was an inconvenience in location.

There are a number of items marked as sale items with a sticker on the item and signage above the…read moreitem, but when rung up in their system it doesn't ring up that way. When I asked the sales associate about this, she said a customer probably put the stickers on all the items to get a discount, so they can't honor the discount. I find it very hard to believe it wasn't an employee when 30+ items multiple layers thick have the stickers and are arranged on the shelves. This is incredibly deceptive marketing.

The process is very easy for the test, just pull up on the drive thru and you swap yourself and leave it in the bin. I marked a star off because it is a little more expensive for medicine and hygiene products than if you were going to a Meijer or Kroger.

I thought that was convenient, consist lots of places have adjusted/shortened hours due to the pandemic. I was at another Rite Aid last night and noticed a lot of markdowns, some up to 75% off. I figured I kill a few seeing if this location had any good deals. Outside the doors the neon pink tape on the cement advised you of what we already know- 6 FEET SOCIAL DISTANCE! Upon entering the store I was greeted by a gentleman, I said good morning in return. I quickly walked the store and noticed mostly full shelves. Your typical convenient store- snacks, beauty items, OTC drugs/medicine, pharmacy with Drive Thru, greeting cards, seasonal items, and photo area. They also sell cold beer, have whole isle of wine and liquor, even all the mixers and ready to drink fu-fu drinks. It's really one stop shopping for basic things ie milk, bread and eggs to avoid the bigger grocery stores. I grabbed a few items off the 75% off end cap and also noted that they were completely out of paper products. Again with the toilet paper- why!? I checked out and was asked for my rewards card through the plexiglass by the cashier. Those were the only words she said to me. I grabbed my bag with my 4 items and headed to my truck to sanitize my hands. Yes I wore my mask, seems like you can't walk into a place without these days.

I drove cross town for a minute clinic appointment for a covid test, it had to be scheduled online…read moreonly. I needed a quick test for an outpatient procedure. I had a 6:20pm appointment tonight. Arrived at 6:10pm. Drove over 35 minutes to get to this location since we could get in for a late appointment. Received and email and text updates to come inside and sign in at the kiosk. My husband spoke to the woman at the minute clinic. She informed us that the covid test is only done at the pharmacy and they were done for the day. I said we scheduled it online at CVS, specifically for Covid, she was nice and apologetic and suggested other urgent cares nearby. All were closed for the evening. I appreciate that the staff helped me but CVS needs to update their online Covid scheduling if they can't fulfill their appointment on their end. How irksome to have to drive cross town and through traffic when the online Covid appointment is a ruse. Poorly done!

It reminds me of the old drugstore interiors that are long gone like F&M and Perry Drugs. I like that I can find older hair care brands. I recently noticed that they sell 3 in 1 Condition, a brand of hairspray and mousse that I haven't seen in years! I even saw old shampoo brands like Flex and Prell! Their pharmacy is a decent size, and a big part of their business. They also have a Sony digital photo kiosk up front. The staff is friendly too. You can find stuff like bee mans and clove gum on the counter. I definitely think this drugstore is worth a stop if you have been looking for any discontinued makeup or hair product.

Absolutely unacceptable experience at the Walgreens Pharmacy in Shelby Township (26 Mile & Van…read moreDyke). On June 27, my doctor sent in a prescription for 270 capsules. On June 29, I received an online notification that only 15 capsules were ready. I called the pharmacy at 5:18 PM and was told the online portal was incorrect -- that the full 270 capsules were ready for pickup. When I went to the pharmacy on July 3, I waited 10 minutes in line, only to have the pharmacy tech unable to find the prescription. She brought in the pharmacist, Mary, who said it was ready and asked me to take a seat while she retrieved it. After waiting another 18 minutes, it became obvious that the prescription was not ready at all. I approached the counter to express my frustration, and instead of listening, Mary repeatedly talked over me and wouldn't let me speak. When I finally managed to get a word in, she told me she "wasn't going to listen" and walked away down an aisle -- clearly avoiding the conversation. Before leaving, she had the audacity to tell me to transfer all of my prescriptions away from Walgreens. This behavior is completely unprofessional and disrespectful -- especially from someone responsible for handling patients' medications. I've been a loyal Walgreens customer, but after this outrageous experience, I am seriously considering transferring all of my prescriptions to a pharmacy that values accuracy, accountability, and basic customer respect.
