This CVS on El Camino Real is usually quiet and clean, which is nice for a location like this. You don't have to stand in a queue. You can mostly find what you came in for--it's reliable that way. Occasionally, it can be a little hard to find an employee (for a question), but when you do, the staff is polite and helpful. They almost always ask if you want to sign up or create an account. It gets a bit repetitive, but I get that it's part of their routine. Overall, it's a solid, no-fuss CVS experience. read more

So two days ago I came into the CVS mind you I've been coming to the CVS for years and I had trouble looking for something for cold sores and I couldn't find it so I kindly asked the technician and she was like oh it's on aisle 12 it's on the sign can you not read signs and I was completely shook from the technician but then at the same time I don't know if they work for CVS OK that happens and then she pointed me to a worker that actually worked at CVS and I asked her and she tells me the same thing that it's on this aisle, but I told her can you please show me where the product is because I obviously can't find it. This place never ceases to amaze in how they can disappoint. There is zero management, and they really want to show that fact off to you. I only go in, if I absolutely need to. Typically unable to find what I need, and requiring that I ask (I'm of that generation I suppose) - only to be asked if I could use "the app". By "the app", I assume they mean Amazon, and yeah I find exactly what I need ASAP. The people working ( that was a hard word to type out tbh ) apparently are forced to be there. And these folks really don't want to be, and honestly as to what they actually do on site still sort of confusing to me. Lane or Ling at the pharmacy is absolute trash. She has zero customer service, is extremely rude, uncompassionate and talks as if it is not her job to take care of customers and their pharmaceutical needs. I left a voicemail for the pharmacy (as the prompts requested) and she gave me a call back. She sounded bothered and annoyed the second I answered, as if my call was an inconvenience to her. She said that I need to come in person to update my insurance and she can't take it over the phone. She was extremely stand off-ish and provided no guidance how we can make this a smoother and more efficient process. I finally figured out that I can have my doctor send in my current insurance and they would update. There was no confirmation, follow-up or any guidance as to the next steps or if the pharmacy would confirm if my insurance was received. I asked to get an update on the perscription price and she could not help. I thanked her (obviously in a sarcastic tone) for being so helpful, and she said "mmm hmmm" and hung up. CVS, do better and hire employees that want to help your customers. Lane/Ling - be a better human being. Love this cvs it's in the neighborhood there probably once a week. Only issue is this one older Indian lady practically tries to force the cvs membership card onto me whenever she works here. She's very sneaky about it I switched cvs' for 2 months after meeting her. God I hate her- rest of the staff is perfect no issues, always helpful and active around the store. Okay, CVS is not my favorite pharmacy. They're usually pretty patient with me when I use the self-checkout instead of a cashier. This one doesn't have that sort of emphasis. But as they say, "it's all good." The inventory at this location and the other on El Camino further east is a little weird. I'm not sure how to place it. I was there the 1st customer entered the store for the passport photo. Waited about 30 mins for the mid aged Asian to help me out. The Asian dude (Most likely the store manager) decided to help all other customers who came after me and told me to do the passport photo at other store. I did not want to wait again after so long so I insisted to do the photo here then he just told me to wait. I am having bad ACL knee pain and I did not want to wait any longer so I approached to him and he was just chatting with other female worker saying how good looking her items are and etc, totally ignored me. I was at self checkout, I scanned an item and realized I didn't want it anymore so I clicked on the screen for assistance and waited more 5 minutes and nobody came to help me. I saw one worker on the phone and the other was helping another customer but there no one in the cashier that I could talk too. I was walking around hoping they would realize I need help but no worker was aware. One worker was facing the all talking on the phone, while the other was helping a customer on the computers by the atm. Worst experience from any CVS and it was the closest one to me. read more

My insurance won't cover one of my medications, and when I requested a refill for my medication on the Caremark portal they (CVS) told me I needed to contact them. So I called them to refill the prescription and they told me my insurance doesn't cover it. I told them I already know this and that I will pay full price for the brand name version. I ended up getting the medication, but apparently they don't keep a record of any of this so I have had to call every single month to have the exact same conversation. I told them I didn't want to call every month for the same reason over and over again so they told me they would set up automatic refill when I picked it up (they didn't). Often doesn't have my prescription ready, even when it's on auto refill - in fact their auto refill schedule is messed up - often refills too early - they probably do that to make more money . And then meds are often somehow getting removed from auto refill. And sometimes there are communication problems with my doctor and insurance Co as well. Then there's the mile long receipts with coupons that only last a week on products I won't buy for a month or more - such a waste of paper. read more

DON'T GO HERE! I went in to get a passport picture taken. The lady in the counter was nice and she forwarded me to this 40+ year old guy who seemed to be completely disinterested in his job. He motioned me to stand in front of the white screen, took a picture and went on to do something in the computer. I looked at the computer screen and the image looked a bit blurry. I immediately pointed that out to him. He didn't say a word. He printed the image and a sheet with a bunch of green checkboxes (apparently the computer thought that the image was fine), handed it over to me and walked away. I was stuck in two minds coz the image was definitely a bit blurry but not too bad. I paid, went back home and double checked USCIS website and clearly enough, it looked exactly like the "out of focus" example which would lead to the photo being denied. I had to go back and get the picture taken at a different location. To that dude (whoever it is): You are either a slacker, a guy who hate his job or a racially biased person. Either way you are bringing down the reputation of CVS with you. please do us all a favor and quit your job! I went to Walgreens and the difference was night-and-day. I use this place because it's close to where I live but I leave every interaction frustrated and annoyed. English communication is poor. If you call ahead they are so busy cutting you off trying to get you off the phone that that don't listen and then ask you all the same things you just said. So for example if your medication changes dose-- watch out. They may ping your dr for the wrong one instead of just refilling the newest. They will also say your insurance didn't cover something when actually they didn't apply it-- so always double check before paying. The store is clean, but OTC items are overpriced. read more

The customer service here was atrocious. I was here a little before 10AM today, and two shoppers walked into the store ahead of me. None of us were greeted, but we were given annoyed looks by the cashier. A deliveryman entered and asked the cashier where he was supposed to get some paperwork filled out. She looked impatient with him, and told him to go to the back of the store and look around for assistance. The deliveryman went looking, and accidentally set off the alarm on one of the doors when he was searching for someone to help him. The cashier at the front then proceeded to complain loudly to one of her co-workers about the deliveryman. The deliveryman returned to the front of the store and apologized for setting off the alarm, and the cashier finally called a manager to the front to help him. I was near the pharmacy, looking at pill cases (which I use for supplements), and a shopper came out from the double doors located to the right of the pharmacy. She was shaking her head, and told me that the bathroom was filthy - no toilet paper, paper towels all over the floor, and that some of the paper towels were soiled. We both shuddered. Two employees walked right past us as she was talking to me, heard all about the bathroom, and remained expressionless. The cashier in front acted like she was being solicited for money when a customer asked her to check the price of an item that was missing a shelf price tag - she sighed loudly and rolled her eyes. There was a good greeting card selection - lots of Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year cards, plus blank cards featuring fluffy animals. I left without buying anything, because I did not feel like subjecting myself to the moodiness of the cashier. No, I've never set foot in the store, but this is for their pharmacy service over the phone. So, one of our patients wanted her prescriptions sent here after seeing us, & since our clinic is located in the East Bay, this pharmacy wasn't listed on our pull-down menu of pharmacies on our lame prescribing program. So, the physician assistant (PA) who saw the patient looked up the pharmacy & tried to call the prescription in at the end of the day. I don't know who was on the other end, but I could hear the conversation on this end, & whoever was on the other end was giving the PA a hard time about everything....the prescription is over the counter (so what? I always send in a rx in case the patient's insurance covers it.), the patient doesn't regularly go to this pharmacy (we have date of birth & patient's full name to give you; if the patient doesn't bring their insurance card, that's not our problem), can you prescribe (yes, she has a DEA #), could you re-check the dose (it was for kid's Tylenol, & we have a handy-dandy table that tells us the dose based on the weight & age, doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure it out)? The PA got frustrated & said, "forget it, never mind", & hung up. I got the story blanks filled in after asking the PA what was going on. C'mon, really?? WTF?!? I called them a minute later to find out what was going on & why wouldn't they just take the prescription that we wanted to call in, & gave the answers above, told them the PA has the chart in front of her & would give them the patient info & prescription, & handed the phone to the PA. Why are you wasting our time? I will stand up for our mid-levels, but I shouldn't have to waste my time doing work that they are quite capable of doing. read more

I have been a prescription customer of this pharmacy for 28 years when it was called Longs Pharmacy. This pharmacy constantly makes mistakes causing me to have to go back several times for the same prescription. They routinely run out of very common prescription drugs, and they will often make mistakes in telling you that a prescription is expired, when it is not, even when you ask them to double check to ensure that they have the current and newest prescription. The entire staff is inept, and I had told them that if they kept making mistakes that I would pull all of our prescriptions from their store. I pulled ALL of our prescriptions today when they made the umpteenth mistake in telling me a prescription was expired. Even when I went to the store 48 hours ago and they said the prescription was expired, I asked them to check their computer for a newer prescription. They told me there was no newer prescription. Of course, today I called them to see if my doctor had renewed the prescription and I was told that they had not because the prescription did not need to be renewed. Just prior to that, they had run out of this prescription, which has happened several times before. As a working mom, I do not have time to go back and forth to the pharmacy due their ineptitude. I am transferring all our prescriptions to Target. My nightmare with CVS Pharmacy in Sunnyvale is OVER finally, and I'm only sorry I waited this long to transfer everything. This is the closest CVS to work, and it has come to the rescue several times when I have needed emergency supplies on a lunch break. You know, like a huge bag of Twizzlers. Anyway, the selection is decent, but it is definitely one of the older and more compact stores out there. I happened to be in the area on Sunday, so I stopped by to pick up a couple odds and ends. And I have to say that I was really impressed by their customer service. An employee noticed that I was having trouble finding something, asked if I needed help, and when I told him what I was looking for, he knew exactly what it was and where to find it. The cashier I had was really friendly, too. So is this the best CVS in town? No, but it is convenient and has friendly and knowledgeable employees. read more

This is the closest CVS to my place. I've been going there since it was a Long's; the Long's might not have been as fancy as this new CVS, but it certainly had more. And it didn't have the annoying "CVS card". Pros: A) It's close to home B) Easy to call in scrips earl in the day & pick up later when I need refills C) Most of the personnel are friendly D) EASY MAILING! I had 4 items that needed to be manually mailed, and I forgot today was tax day. Rather than braving USPS, I had an easy in & out at this CVS. Cons: A) One of the front desk assistant's at the Pharmacy is a PITA. Whenever I have to deal with her, I cringe. B) Bloody CVS card. I loathe the loyalty cards & constantly being asked to join up. I just make them use the "courtesy card". C) Smaller selection than when they were a Long's. read more

Review of pharmacy: They have drugs, I have prescriptions, they are the closest pharmacy to my house. Other than for that, I wouldn't go here. Of all the times I've dropped off a script, told them I'll wait, please call me when it's ready, THEY ALMOST NEVER CALL MY NAME. They will quote me a wait time of 10 minutes, I'll be sitting in the waiting area for 25 minutes before I go to the counter to see what is going on. I check on the status of my pills and sure enough, they're ready. Why couldn't they just called my name? They are wasting my time, and I get really upset by this, and it keeps happening. Except for last time when I reiterated "please let me know when it is ready". I hope I'm not asking too much. read more

While my feelings ran mixed when this changed over to CVS (I've always noticed that they have less overall merchandise than Longs), the photo department runs much smoother IMO. I had a couple of photo CDs made and the service was superb from start to finish. Great prices, service, and the quality blew me away. Also loved how I got reminder phone calls to let me know my order was ready. The missing star is because those reminder calls got kind of annoying. They don't seem to pay attention to shutting them off. I was still getting these calls a couple times a week, a month after picking up my order! It was a recorded message so it's not like I could answer a person. However, the initial calls were from a real person to let me know the order would take longer than originally thought and I appreciated that courtesy in letting me know. At first I thought the red store card was a bit annoying, but it's brilliant to be able to have a photo order pulled up just from swiping the card. My wallet can always handle another piece of plastic! Haven't done much general shopping here since the changeover, and I don't get prescriptions filled here, so can't comment on those. read more

This is a standard CVS it has everything you need but you will definitely be imposing on the employees should you go in. The folks aren't nice and with the exception of the one time I walked in at opening on a Saturday they don't greet. You get the same 'did you find what you need?', do you have the extra care thing? but they don't consistently actually look at you when speaking. The last time I was in there a male manager was leaning over a check out stand when someone came over the speaker asking for what I will assume was his assistance. I was in line as were others and his "man, sometimes it sucks to be in this job" was heard by all. If you can't be happy while at work remember someone else would probably LOVE to have your job and the opportunity to work and earn a paycheck. If you don't like your circumstances - change them you can do that. read more

This store is disgusting. The entrance is always dirty. The windows are filthy. Why would they install carpeting..oh right..because they don't have to clean it. They totally ruined Longs. I am going to avoid CVS at all costs. I asked why the carpet is so dirty and the staff said they do not provide them with a professional vacuum cleaner so it is always broken. Either the pharmacy's computer system or the pharmacist himself (Tam Doan, in particular) is the least competent that I have ever seen. Their system failed to process my insurance, even when nothing has changed for my policy for over 2 years and no other hospitals or providers have any problem with it. They insisted that I must have got the numbers wrong. They then proceeded to keep my insurance company that's calling them to help verify the information on hold for 40 minutes. I initially suspect that they have something against me, then I noticed that they treated all the other customers there equally bad. If you don't have at least 2 hours of your life on hand to waste, I suggest that you avoid this pharmacy. read more
