The Santa Clara Medical Center has so many different pharmacies, but I use this one (dept 138) regularly because it's the only one at this hospital that is open 24 hours including holidays, and the flexibility works well with my busy schedule. It's been dependable for the many years I've used it. I came by this past Thursday to order same-day prescription refills after my mail-in order failed to arrive on time (I had run out, and couldn't wait another day for my delayed items). They were understanding toward my circumstance, and the pharmacy worker resolved my issue without giving me a hard time. I was really grateful for this. By the way, I think Kaiser pharmacies in general have faster and more efficient service than drugstores like Walgreens or CVS, not to mention the option to have meds conveniently delivered to your home at no extra cost. But if you need to pick up from an actual pharmacy, this one in Santa Clara is a good option, with friendly and professional staff, and an easy process. Every once in a while, there's a long wait (for instance, 30 minutes on my most recent visit), but on most days wait times are reasonable. I don't expect perfection, but when it comes to our health and well-being (especially when facing chronic conditions or the like), having a reliable pharmacy like this to turn to is invaluable. read more

Picking up medication for my son after having a procedure. nurse called me to let me know first pick up this prescription before they released my son. Walked over to head inside and I'm asked to put on a mask. I was a bit confused because I was already wearing one. I stopped in my tracks and gave them a perplexed look. Well I took one and wore 2 masks, better safe than sorry, lol. Got to the pharmacy and there was only one person ahead of me which was nice, it meant I wouldn't have a long wait. Got to the counter asked for his prescription and the Lady at the counter was very helpful getting me the prescription without a medical number. Came here because I needed an emergency supply of my medication and the person who assisted me was very helpful. The service was friendly and I had to wait 30 minutes for my medications to available, which was understandable. It is open 24/7 and located in hospital building. Once you enter lobby, walk all the way down the hall and it will be on the right side. read more

The Discharge Pharmacy and the Outpatient Rx is the same place at 700 Lawrence. It's room 138. I have been in the ER twice in this hospital, and quickly got my meds. Never a problem! Always fast, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They always go above and beyond to give excellent customer service. Most importantly, as a chronic pain patient who is on a narcotic pain contract, I've always been treated with respect and never questioned or treated like a drug addict like so many other patients have been at outside pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens. I really appreciate that the staff is there 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year. They take time away from their families during holidays and weekends to make sure that patients being discharged from the emergency room or the hospital or who need their medication are able to get it without a problem. read more

I hate Kaiser but I love Vern in the discharge pharmacy. I could list the the dozens of reasons that Kaiser sucks. But that is not the point of my review. This review is for one thing only and that is the pharmacist, Vern at the discharge pharmacy. He truly cares about patients. He has a level of maturity and patience and intelligence that is uncommon and better than Kaiser deserves. Vern is the best thing about Kaiser. I had good doctors but they usually stay a few years and move on to better companies. But Vern is the constant. The friendly face, the helpful spirit and a true commitment to patient care that you don't see in other areas of Kaiser and their stupid backward and nonsensical way of doing things. There was no line when I came so I was the next person to be called up. A female clerk was just watching her screen but didn't look over to see if someone had come in the line. I was annoyed she wasn't paying attention and doing her job. I was hoping to get another guy since he saw me and was wrapping up his transaction but right before he was done, she finally leans over and calls me up. The other clerks there should've told her someone was waiting. I was given some items from ER and the lady gave me the smallest bag for my pharmacy items. I was trying to put it all together and the bag was ripping. She was watching me the whole time and didn't even offer to give me a bigger bag! Poor service. Thankfully I'm in good health and don't need pharmacy services often at all but I won't be stopping by here again unless absolutely necessary. read more

The pharmacy staff are very good. They follow up with the orders and can compound medication quickly. The only problem is that they are working with the rest of Kaiser Pharmacy system, which is dysfunctional trash. Kaiser is fine. I'm a little miffed though that the "system was down" when I went to get my poison oak cream, and that they couldn't give me my cream even with my doctor recommendation because it had not yet been filled. Filled? It's a tube of mf cream. And a little miffed that days later, with only two other patients in the pharmacy, I was told it would take 10-15 minutes to get my cream. 30 minutes later I was really itching to get my cream, literally. When I inquired 32 minutes later, she said, "Oh you just checked in a minute ago". Um, no. A minute on Mercury, maybe. (Mercury rotates much slower than Earth). When I assured her it was 32 minutes, she said she would look into getting it prepared, and I responded, "Isn't it just a cream?" Turns out it was in a red box waiting behind her. Kaiser is fine, but I recommend you be that annoying guy who checks on his order. read more

Came to this pharmacy to get my prescription filled. This beautiful pharmacy technician student helped me and told me where to go. She was very nice and sweet. I would tell you her name but I don't want you guys hitting on her. :P She was very helpful and thorough. I can't wait until I get another prescription so that I can see her again It was like love at first sight. Anyways about my experience here. The guy at the counter told me that it would take an hour for them to fill my prescription. I told him it was ok and that I would wait. In less than an hour my prescription was filled. I like that they filled it faster than I expected. I was given a consultation by the pharmacist who was also very thorough. She made sure I understood the instructions of when to take my meds and which ones I needed to take with food. Definitely coming back here when I need my prescription filled! read more

I have had Kaiser for years since back in the 80's... I am very thankful for this new Kaiser here in Santa Clara. The Pharmacy usually has a line. But with the new age of enter your order on line. You can schedule your pick up for Saturday or Sunday. Which I find to be the slower days in the pharmacy. They open up super early and I always like to beat the crowd. THey are pretty good on getting the line down. read more

I go to the 24 the pharmacy, which can be busy, it is in the hospital, but the hours at the other pharmacies are not so conducive to my work life. I have been going to this Kaiser for 5 years now and have had a few unpleasant times, however, most of the time it is not that bad. Free flu shots (yes, you may have to sit in line)! It is really clean, or at least it seems to be. I would recommend this as a good south bay Kaiser! read more

Had a bad experience after taking my wife to ED. Not given any warning about how long it would take. Received notice that meds were ready, clerk said only 2 were ready, after about 15 minutes of further waiting I went back to same clerk and was told that I had to pay first so that they could pour out 3rd med. apparently she enjoys making people wait unecessarally. read more
