I love the new Extra Care rewards program. I stopped in to the one on Jacaranda and Venice Ave. at around 3:05 pm on Saturday, November 15. Purchased a couple things including two Vita pressed coconut waters. As I checked out, the guy working the register caught the fact that they were expired!! He caught that, not me. He went to replace them and realized they were ALL expired. I'm a professional musician, on my way to Longboat Key for a gig. Had I consumed that water, I might've spent more time in the bathroom than on stage. This is why I refuse to go through the self checkout. Whoever that guy is... THANK YOU!!! read more

This is hands-down, the worst CVS pharmacy I have ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and this location is very poorly managed. I've received notifications that a prescription is ready and then show up and it's not. They will receive an order and I will arrive three days later to get it and The prescription is still not ready even though they have had it in stock. Every encounter with the staff, there has been negative. I recommend choosing any other location other than this one. read more

This store is the worst. I understand they are busy. However, they don't answer customer phone calls direct. You have to leave a message and it could take hours for a call back. Even my physician can not get through to the pharmacy. The employees are definitely overwhelmed with the volume of prescriptions and customers. Hire more people. Got my COVID shot here. The pharmacist was extremely gentle---easily one of the better vaccination experiences I have had. The only downside is that the pharmacy was super busy between the drive-in and walk-in lines, and it was hard to keep track of the different queues for prescriptions, vaccines, and inquiries. I went for the first time yesterday. Was given a rather steep price for my prescription. She never mentioned she ran an expired insurance and that my current wasn't even considered! The price was $0- ZERO, with my insurance. I am new here and haven't been to this store ever. It was 5-10 years ago in another state & all info at their fingertips. Just communicate! The lack of manners and empathy is getting to be the norm at many pharmacies, even going as far as being rude and forgetting they are part of the health CARE system. I do understand the insurance makes life challenging for them as do numerous grumpy people but treating every customer as a new start is part of customer service. This is not for the pharmacy I use but for CVS Corporate. The IT Department at CVS needs to understand the term Customer Service. They have yet to either hear or understand the phrase "If it's not broken, don't fix it". When refilling a prescription, the web site used to indicate with ease, ordering up a refill or having CVS contact the physician to send over a new script. It also used to send out a text notifying the patient that the refill order has been received and/or notifying that there is an issue. They don't do this now. They've changed this web site so many times over the past year or so, it makes me dizzy. The entire IT Department needs to be fired and they need to start over. What a bunch of crazies and lunatics! One doesn't even know if the refill order was successful. CVS has gotten so big and layered with supervisors that they couldn't commit suicide if they wanted too! Time to move on after some near 30 years to Walgreens or someone else who can appreciate the customer. read more

They refused to fill my Paxlovid prescription with my bringing in a written paper prescription. The young woman was even laughing when I said I could come in without a mask and breathe all over her. She said everyone else does. When my husband who went to pick it up said if I got seriously I'll over night it was in her, she said I should just go to the ER! No wonder our ERs are overly filled and no wonder Covid is spreading. read more

Picked up a prescription yesterday & I was treated with disrespect by a heavyset worker she preached to me about not having a mask on the way she talked to me was quite disturbing caught me off guard here are three things wish I got her name I think she might be new never seen her before. 1. There two days before 3/31 nobody brought it up which is my point. 2. Believe me I get the importance of what is going we just don't have masks right now trying to get them. 3. There were two cashiers & 3 other shoppers who had no masks on. In closing her tone was strong to me I'm in this store all the time & can walk to this location never treated like I was yesterday I will try & avoid her going forward. absolutely mortified by the complete lack of sympathy and care from a PHARMACY. The women I talked to today had no care for the problem I had, wouldn't help and refused to let me speak to anyone in charge. simply kept shrugging her shoulders. Maybe hire some people with a little empathy cvs ? I was shaking head to toe when I left with tears in my eyes. My mom had to call them and only then did she finally reach the actual pharmacist. I agree. I've been to every CVS in Venice and they all are like this EXCEPT the CVS in Target. Staff there are incredibly nice. I don't know all their names, just Clark. Not just a good pharmacist but also a nice guy. And you can shop while waiting for your scripts. Note: pharmacy operates somewhat separate from Target so take non-pharmacy items to Target checkout. I just want to mention Max from the pharmacy department. He is GREAT. Today I walked in very upset because the CVS located in S Jacaranda and Tamiami (across Walmart) got my prescription all wrong and didn't offer any help. This is the same prescription I've been getting for over 10 yrs. So, after that bad experience, I decided to drive to this branch and ask for help. Max took my info and worked in the computer for about 6 or 8 minutes. When he came back he told me he got everything squared away and my prescription would be ready. I know it wasn't a simple thing and he did all that with a smile on his face. I work in customer service and I understand how difficult and challenging it can be so THANK YOU MaX for all your help and for solving my case . I went into this store at night on March 14/2020. The two staff members I dealt with were extremely grumpy, unfriendly and unhelpful.

these people writing these reviews truly have no life what so ever. Maybe there is a reason they rejected you due to the insufficient proof of your prescription. Of coarse Walgreens would fill. they do care one way or the other if you O.D or not. I agree with I review I read I stopped getting my Rx's filled at CVS cuz 1 of my script's price continued 2 cost more each month by the time it cost $50.00 more than just a couple months b4 I told them they could keep it, then was told they could reduce it by $20.00 This is CRAZY!!
