Train your cashiers how to actually do their job. The newbies here (Liza) don't know how to check out people properly. Specifically, bagging. At checkout, Liza walked around her station, behind me, to select items that were heavy to charge first. Then, she went to the bag turnstyle and took bags over to bag there - FROM THE CONVEYER BELT. WTH? I asked why and she said I didn't put the heavy stuff up front which is how it should be bagged (so it's first in the cart and lighter stuff on top.) This was so inconvenient and slow that I told her, I'll figure it out and to not worry about it. When she started bagging my meats separately, I said, "don't worry about doing that, I don't need a lot of extra bags." So she began putting A TON of stuff in each bag so that there was literally no handles left to pick up the bags. This is just ONE damn thing I'm pissed off about at Walmart today. This store used to be decent but has gone way downhill. Went early in morning "shoppers" with the big carts act like customers are getting in their way. Worst experience ever! What should have been a simple maintenance service on my car turned into a nightmare. When I called the auto department and asked if they performed transmission fluid flushes, I was told they did and made an appointment to have it done. When I went to my appointment I checked in and went outside to wait after about 15 or 20 minutes passed my appointment time, I see an employee out at my car, no big deal as appointments can often run behind. Then my phone rings and it's Walmart telling me that they cannot perform the service on my car because they do not have a technician on duty. I reply that I don't understand why they made the appointment for this day and time and sent multiple emails and texts confirming my appointment and I drive 40 minutes from Sarasota to get here and now they are telling me they can't do it. Then the guy says to hold on while he checks to see if he is at lunch, by this time I am inside standing next to him and I sit down in a chair to wait. Now the department manager comes in and asks if there is a problem? As I explain to him what's going on he starts telling me he's going to do it, but he can't perform the service if I am having problems with the transmission, I say no I'm just getting a recommended service which I have made an appointment for and now I am being treated like I am a problem customer. I am not a problem customer; your incompetence is the problem here. If you have questions for the customer that may affect whether or not, you can perform the service they should be asked when making the appointment. (Before I drive 40 mins. to get here). If you do not have a tech that can perform the service, then don't schedule it. If you uncertain about preforming the service, then do not offer it! Was walking by ladies section and there were two middle aged ladies working in the area talking (whining about their job) loudly with expletives being used in every single sentence - both of them. This is the absolute WORST Walmart in the entire area. They are always out of at least 3-4 items I need every single time I shop there. EVERY SINGLE TIME. And yet the North Port and the Osprey locations seem to be well stocked always. And they are much cleaner and neater and more attractive. How is that even possible? The staff never pulls items forward, so I am always trying to strain to pull items closer for easy access. The constant staff in the way of the shoppers is ridiculous. They park their giant carts in the middle of the aisle or block off sections and then get rude when people ask to get items that they are in the way of. It's 50/50 as to whether a staff member is willing to help you find an item. Some are helpful but they are overshadowed by the ones that are annoyed they have to tell you where something is located, especially if they don't know. Do you think they would bother asking another employee? No. They just say they don't know. Really. That happens. Do you even train these people in customer service? Or are the working conditions so bad that they hate being there? The manager needs to be retrained or reassigned to something he/she can handle because it isn't this. read more

i needed a cake was asking around for almost 2 weeks. i was giving up on finding a baker or bakery to fulfill what i wanted until i just say whatever a cake is a cake. I was shopping in Walmart and said to myself, let me just look at their cakes. Erimar was the on duty that day, she explained what she can do and i explained what i wanted. OMG beyond my ideas she did and amazing job. Please if you ever need a elaborate cake design done, please find her at Venice Walmart Supercenter Erimar . She was so pleasant, helpful and knows she skills. I would love to show the cake is incredible but i don't have the rights from the person on the cake. Dirty and smelly... nasty half empty shelves... both shopping in store and on line is a joke

this store drops the ball too often. My delivery scheduled 7/28 between 5-7 did not arrive. They said they would deliver later in the evening. Never arrived. I called 8:30 am and they said they were putting it on asap. 6 hrs later not deliver. I called back and they told me they couldn't get a driver cause they put in too many requests and system would not allow another. Told me to call 1800 walmart to cancel the order. Called them and they could not cancel order because it showed online that it was delivered. Called store back and asked them to cancel order or change status to not delivered. They said they couldn't do anything and I had to wait 72 hrs before the order would automatically cancel. So noone can do anything as usual. I have groceries delivered because I am unable to drive or shop on my own. They took my money, did not deliver and claim no one can cancel the order or change the status online. totally disgusted read more

I made an appointment to have my tires mounted and balanced three days ago and the person that made the appointment asked me the info on the vehicle which I gave to him. At first he said they wouldn't do it so i explained that the outer diameter of the tire is the same as the original equipment the only difference is the rim size. so, at first he gave me a reduculous price and said it involved a bunch of stuff that was not needed so I explained to him that I am a retired mechanical engineer and all I wanted was to mount and balance 4 brand new tires. He finally gave me an appointment for today. When I went for my appointment, they refused to do the job after wasting my three days of waiting. The manager told me that the person that made my appointment said that it couldn't be done which is total bs. because he wasn't in on the conversation. I asked why did he make an appointment then? He just stayed quite. Now i had to make an appointment with someone else (tires plus in Venice) three more day's of waiting but the gentleman i spoke with was knowledgeable and acknowledged that there is no problem in doing it. This is the second time I have a problem with Walmart. The first one was last year that they didn't honor their warranty on a car battery. There won't be a third. I am boycotting Walmart. read more

The service in the deli area where they have hot chicken is TERRIBLE. I waited at the counter to place an order for 30 chicken tenders. One guy was packing hot chicken in bags who ignored me. Another guy came out from the side, reached under the counter in front of me to grab some gloves for himself and just walked away. Didn't even look at me. After 15 minutes of waiting, I just left. Will be buying the chicken tenders at the Publix across the street. I think they taste better anyway. Because you don't care, you lose Walmart. read more

Walmart for groceries is a very challenging event. However, the pharmacy at this location is awesome, specifically the staff team. I have been getting my refills here since 2019 and I will not change - they are excellent! The parking lot is full, often. I would like if they had a security camera on the lot and catch folks as they park and depart in their vehicles - if there is an incident. What I mean is that I have been scraped and sideswiped in their lot 4 different times. I have only caught the culprit 1 time and she was in her late 80's and tried to hide by moving to different spot in the lot. Fortunately, several nice people wrote down her plate and put a note on my window, identifying where she had moved her car, in the lot. So, I was able to confront her when she came out. She had $17 dollars in her purse and I told her to just give that to me and I would not report the incident. read more

I just have a recommendation for Walmart and that is to get rid of the quest diagnostics that's in their store. Quest has some very rude and unprofessional so called health care providers that treat people poorly and that overall reflects poorly on you since there's an association of "that Walmart with the horrible quest employees ". Just a thought. We went to quest and our intention was to purchase some lawn and garden products from you, but based on how poorly we were treated at quest we left being too aggravated and upset (also had medical samples that was potentially going to be useless) to want to shop. Personally, I'd have to think twice about a business who would rent space to such an unprofessional and uncaring business such as Quest. read more

It's a Walmart, carrying about anything you might need groceries, produce pharmaceutical and other household needs generally at reasonable prices and mixed quality. Having said that, to check out one must navigate a maze and figure out how to scan while two or three Walmart employees stand around in case you need help. IMO, no need for the hassle and for that reason I no longer shop there unless I absolutely have to. Better to go back to the old fashioned way of providing Cashiers. I visit this store every day around 11AM. Each Walmart has a particular personality based on staff and clientele. This is my favorite location. Nothing not to like, as produce and grocery are just what I need at good prices. I also go for meats, such as lamb and beef. Prefer Publix for bacon and chicken. read more

I should not have purchased tires from a department store. They are unable to align the steering so taking your car there for tires will require a visit to a mechanic elsewhere to have the alignment checked so your new tires do not wear uneven. Road hazard and maintenance agreements don't help. read more

Go to Walmart to pick up basic items today (11/15/20) and on the way there I realize I have a tire leaking air. My sensor was showing super low. We arrived at Walmart around 7:35 am and the tire department doesn't open till 8 am. No issues, we walked around, called some people to figure the best route for the tire and when they opened I went and retrieved my car for them. I explained to the employee, my front passenger tire is low. I believe my plug is leaking and to repatch it. I was given an hour or so for the repair. I took my kids around the store and then to subway in Walmart to eat. After 1.5 hours I went back to the department to check status only to find out THEY HAD THE WRONG TIRE OFF THE CAR. The employee came out and said, " your tire is at 35 psi and I don't see a plug." Duh, "you have the wrong tire off the care." I replied. He looked at me just as dumbfounded as I stared back at him. The person I initially talked to put the wrong tire. At this point, I'm wondering if common sense went missing. You figure out the tire isn't flat, but didn't think to check other tires?! At this point, he gets the CORRECT tire off, dunks it, and rolls it out to me. The plug which I thought was the original issue actually was a branch I ran over and it punctured the tire. Now, I know I'll be buying a new tire because it's in an area they deem unsafe to patch. No worries, BUT... I asked if it will take them another 82952 years to get the new tire on the rim. I've already been there 3 hours at this point. My boys are getting restless and I'm already annoyed. Adolfo stated it would be 20 mins. Fingers crossed as I whizzed to the front of the store to check out. Checked out my goodness of crap I didn't need at 10:36 am and headed back to the tire department. Sure enough, my car is outside and ready! I was thrilled! Well excitement turned to anger once again as every employee walked past the line of customers as if we had the plague and talking to us was unnatural. Tunnel vision, great. I stood there for 30 mins! 30 MINS, waiting for someone to take my money and I could go on my way. 2 young boys becoming restless, almost 4 hours in Walmart, and waiting 30 mins to give my money to a business was the epitome of a nightmare. I even called the store front and asked for a CSM to come back to the department. That's how annoyed I was! Needless to say, if you think 2020 couldn't get much worse, add this shopping experience to that sh*t show list. read more

Just came from this Walmart. As we entered the store there are 3 employees sitting right next to the front door and they were smoking. When told that there is no smoking allowed within 50 feet of a door one of the employees was very arrogant and said " this is America". We went there this evening to inquire about cashing a check We were surprised by the rude attitude of the women at the customer service desk. She was very abrupt and unhelpful. I have been using Walmart grocery since it started here. Except for a few growing pains ( theirs and mine) my experience has been great! They are always real nice and fast. They bring you a bottle of water which is a nice touch. Most of the substitutes are right on and if not they take it off your order. The walmart super store in Venice, Fla gets tons of business, as I shop there at least 2-3 times a week spending close to $100. often. With Covid, and the snow birds arriving, the store is lacking safety and security for rude, threatening patrons who don't follow CDC rules. I have been yelled at, threaten, and put in fear just for asking the person behind me to step back a few feet. The cashier in the self scanner areas are not trained properly to ask the customer to leave the store or tell them the Sheriffs office will be called. By not looking out for the customer, the employee is risking everyones welling being, not only from Covid, buy making shopping at walmart scary. The store in Englewood, Fl not only has a Charlotte County Deputy roaming the store, his marked car is outside, and another Deputy in uniform roams the parking lot for violations and issues. He is a parking enforcement employee of Sheriffs Office. Venice store makes a lot of money, they can afford to hire a security company armed for all of our protection in and outside the store. I guess when someone or several customers get hurt, something will be done. Seeing a uniform person roaming in the front of the store will be a great relief to the shoppers. The best thing about the Venice Walmart Supercenter is that it's only about 10 miles from a far better Walmart Supercenter: the one in Osprey. The Osprey Walmart has a much better selection of products throughout the store, and quite a few prices are lower for the same products. read more
