I came in very sick to get nighttime cold medicine. I had to walk to the store because I am too sick to operate a car, and forgot my ID. Jerry refused to sell me anything, even when I was showing him the scan of my ID and explaining to him the severity of my illness. He was extremely dismissive and essentially told me to get out of the store. I am well over the age required to buy this medicine and again, had a scan of my ID that I have been able to show at numerous other locations to buy this same medicine. read more

This particular CVS is a 24 hour, large-sized store. I feel they do a good job keeping the store stocked. The pharmacy is organized as well and has a health center for common vaccines. And I have to give kudos that they added both COVID testing and vaccines without disrupting the normal day-to-day retail business. Sad excuse for a pharmacy. I've had many issues with this pharmacy over the years but have sucked it up because it's close to my house. This time I was pushed over the edge. I called to ask if my medicine was available and they said call back after 4pm. I called back and was told it's on the way and could possibly arrive Friday or Monday. They flat out lied to me because a specialty pharmacy called to tell me CVS doesn't provide this medicine. So it's been 3 days without my medicine because CVS pharmacy told me false information. This store is actually in Cedar Grove, not Verona. I go there a few times a week because it's the neighborhood drugstore, but I'm not totally happy with it. It just seems like there's always a really long line. I appreciate that they've installed self checkout machines, to try to speed up the process. But, how about just putting another dedicated cashier on? I've noticed that their stocking people double as backup cashiers, so when the line get's too long, they call for help. CVS is basically telling me, "We're gonna make you wait as long as we can (without making the wait so egregious that you don't come back) so that we can save a little money." I would appreciate a shopping environment that said "Thanks for choosing CVS, we're here and ready to help you." This being said, I think it's a management or a corporate issue, all of the people in the front and at the pharmacy in the back have been very nice and helpful. . . just overwhelmed with customers. read more

Definitely not a fan. This CVS has the highest prices and the worst customer service of any chain drug/convenience store I have frequented. Do yourself a favor, drive a little farther to Target or Shop Rite. Never an easy peasy visit, sad face.:( read more

Helpful, knowlegable pharmacy- and pleasant, competent front-end staff that's on board with British-style queue to feed a single line to all registers, including adjacent photo department. Be aware that the Township of Cedar Grove has a screwball ordinance prohibiting certain food product sales after-hours. Don't blame CVS. Store is clean and appears to keep out-of-stocks under control. In a brazen demonstration of consumer-unfriendliness, however, this store -- like all others in the chain -- insists you keep and bring back any "coupons" they issue with purchases during which you also present your ironically named CVS Extra Care Card. CVS captures valuable point-of-purchase data with each swipe of that card. It could just as easily give consumers coupon credits on the spot rather than requiring them to file long strands of wasteful register tape that alsoviolate another consumer-friendly practice. The single star rating is only pertinent to the pharmacy itself. The store and the employees up front are wonderful and they carry many products. As for the pharmacy, they have no idea what they are doing. I was told that my prescription would be filled at a certain time and then I'm told it's not ready. Particularly one woman goes out of her way to make my day more difficult because i had to call my dr just to have my prescription sent to another CVS where they refilled it no problem. Hey lady, I don't know if you get your kicks making people's days less convenient or whether you're just unhappy but this CVS would be 5/5 stars if it wasn't for your vigorous hell bent dedication on making the filling of pharmaceutical drugs a hassle. read more

Skip this CVS pharmacy! Always a long line and a wait. When I was there recently for a flu shot, it took forever to check in. The tech-in-training who checked me in was wearing a filthy white coat. Really? Obviously not admonished or noticed by other staff. After I checked in, he said it would be another 15 minutes to get my paperwork which only had to be printed out. It is a standard consent form that everyone gets. I first came there when the store opened and was no one there. By the time I had the paperwork 10 people had come in and were waited on. Then another wait for the pharmacist to administer the shot. Save yourself the aggravation and go elsewhere. Passive aggressive payback if you speak up, so suffer silently if you are forced to use this pharmacy. read more

It's a CVS, so what can you say. They just had a redo and added a wall of frozen food & refrigerated food items, so hey are less of a pharmacy than ever. Pushing the self-checkout these days. I'm in the US staying with friends in nearby Montclair. I had a bite on my ankle which had swelled a little and, as one would do in the UK, I thought a pharmacist would take a quick look and give some advice about whether a straightforward generic drug would do the trick or something more would be required. The CVS in Montclair was quite helpful but suggested visiting this store since there was a nurse on site. A complete waste of time! The counter staff just waved in the direction of a one minute service to which I had to "sign in". There was no one there just a screen with no instructions. No-one appeared after 5 minutes of waiting. I walked out. Useless. Went back to Montclair and bought some relief gel! read more

The store is large and clean, and I didn't wait at all when checking out, but the real reason I'm writing this review is that the pharmacist was great. I've had a few awful experiences at local CVS pharmacies, and this was the opposite- the pharmacist was friendly, helpful, did a great job of managing a line of people (including a difficult woman with endless questions), plus whatever phone calls were coming in. I really appreciated his attitude. read more
