Many thanks to the exceptional staff both in the main part of the store and the pharmacy. My car battery died in the "drive-thru" pharmacy lane. I panicked as I forgot to grab my cell-phone when I dashed out of the house to pick up my prescription. The CVS the staff was very patient, understanding and helpful. This is my "go - to" pharmacy for all my drugstore needs and I've always been very happy with the service and availability of products. AVOID THIS LOCATION! Try main st wayland. If I could give no stars I would. My elderly mother was seen (in tears) at urgent care in excruciating pain with acute nerve pain from degenerative disc disease. They sent over a script that would give her relief and it took over 3 hours. They have always been slow but they have no intelligence to prioritize ER and Urgent Care pain medication??? This is the second complaint. A few years ago the pharmacist had words for me about filling a narcotic prescription for my child after he had surgery. So out of line. I had been coming to this location for same day photo printing. Especially for photo books. But they have screwed up my past 2 orders. So zero stars. It's pretty easy to make DIY photo books on the CVS website. And if you are patient, they seem to have 40 or 50% off at least one week a month. But last month, I ordered my book. 30 minutes later I get the email that my book is ready. I go pick it u. Get home. Lo and behold, it's just the pages. No book. I drive back to CVS. And I wait for 10 minutes while the manager puts the pages into a book. This week I ordered another photo book. I get the email that the book is ready. I drive to CVS 2 hours later to pick up the book. When I arrived I was told the book wasn't ready since nobody has had a chance to put the pages into a book. I ask how long I have to wait (knowing that this takes all of 5-10 minutes. The idiotic clerk tells me that nobody will have time until some time later that evening. Meanwhile nobody is in the store or in line and said clerk is just hanging out behind the counter chowing on Reese's pieces. And I had gotten an email telling me that my order was ready for pick up. I requested a phone call when my book is finally ready for pick up. It is next day and I'm still waiting for the phone call. Will never use this CVs again for photo printing. read more

I've been a CVS customer for 30+ years. Perhaps it's the tight labor market or results of the pandemic, but overall customer service has declined. I've had incorrect scripts filled and been told I have to use the self check out. Recently I went through the drive through to pick up a script and was told to return in 15 min. I returned to the drive through and was parked there 5-10 min before someone came to tell me the drive through had been closed, even though the posted hours said otherwise and the shade was still open. Went inside and discovered the line was halfway down an aisle. Hey, I get it, it must of gotten busy quickly, but please close the shade or put a cone in the drive through. read more

Brand new & clean, yet they don't ever have people to scan your items & check you out. Oh, there's a counter with two cash registers, but no humans. There are two self-service checkout stations as well, but if you run into trouble & need staff assistance, good luck. There are usually two people in the pharmacy, but they're busy with scripts. If you're in the mood for sone shoplifting, there are only two Wayland police working on any given shift so this would be a target rich environment. Zero stars. read more

Pharmacy at this particular CVS location is dysfunctional. Every pharmacy takes a long time. I am told there are reasons for that, and long ago baked it in to expectations. But this one is insane. Don't EVER get in the drive through lane. They can take twenty minutes with a single car. Beyond that, refill timing is routinely screwed up, and the staff never go out of their way to help the way they routinely do at other branches. read more

Do not use the photo service at this CVS. They lost my photos (2 months missing) then called and said they had found them after I made a fuss, only to inform me 'they had recycled them,' when I showed up to claim them. When I sought clarification, it turned out they had thrown them away. Recently widowed, I was greatly upset as these photos were irreplaceable and inestimable precious to me. One of the worst CVS Pharmacies I've dealt with. Disappointing because it's now the closest to me. I've been given medication that I didn't have a perscription for when asking for an OTC that was kept in the pharmacy. I have called ahead to make sure they had certain things in stock only to get there and find out they were "mistaken." I was told it would take "several hours" to get a perscription filled, only to show up well after when I was told it would be ready to find it wasn't filled yet. Three strikes your out. For the third time today this Wayland CVS pharmacy was unable to do what they promised. They said they would call the doctor to refill my prescription and have it by yesterday. They "sent it through to the doctor" but no call was made. When I tired to pick it up as it has had happened two other times in the past it was not ready. On top of this despite asking multiple times to not receive their robo calls they continue. Apparently this near constant phone abuse is part of the package with CVS. I'll be finding a new pharmacy for future prescriptions. read more

This review is for the pharmacy specifically. I have a poor experience nearly every time I come to pick up something at the pharmacy, but tonight's experience is what drove me to write this review. I prepaid for my prescription with Rx express and intended to pick it up through the drive thru. In theory, since the prescription is prepaid, the pharmacist just has to scan a barcode on your phone, grab your prescription, and you're on your merry way. I pulled up in the drive thru and explained I had prepaid for my prescription, and the pharmacist looked at me blankly and said, "I'd love to help you but this register isn't working." He continued to stare at me. I said, "Okay, so should I come in instead?" He said yes, and then asked me for my name so that he could have my prescription waiting when I came in. Since the drive thru is a one-way, I then had to wait several minutes to take a left across route 20 at a busy time of night. I was finally able to loop back around, park, and enter the store. There was no one in line at the pharmacy, and the pharmacist I spoke to at the drive thru window is on a computer. I waited for several more minutes, and the pharmacist said, "I'll be right with you." I had expected this to be moving along more quickly since I had just spoken to him at the window five minutes previously, but I guess not. He finally made his way to register and asks me for my name. Um... we had literally just been through this at the drive thru window when he claimed he'd have my prescription ready for me when I walk in. I explained again that I had prepaid for my prescription and that I had the barcode ready for him to scan. He scanned the barcode and then said, "Nothing is coming up." I wasn't really sure what to say because I had a text saying that my order was ready. He then asked, "Are you in the right store?" I said yes, and then he asked, "Are you sure?" I replied that this is the only CVS that I go to. He then slowly turned around and selected my prescription from a shelf directly behind him, where he'd clearly placed it after he'd spoken to me at the drive thru. Then he said, "I had to try to have SOME fun tonight." I'm sorry, fun for who exactly? I was on a schedule, prepaid for my prescription so the process would be quick, and instead it took way longer than necessary because this guy was giving me the runaround. It's simply unprofessional. In retrospect, I'm not even sure if the drive thru register was actually broken, or if he was just "having fun" and I took him at his word. Insane. Then, after he scanned my prescription, he started inquiring about why it wasn't covered by my insurance. I had prepaid for it, so obviously I was expecting the price and wasn't concerned about it. To ask about it at that point is just nosy, and his tone certainly confirmed that. Such an awful and unprofessional experience. What should have been quick and painless ended up being time-consuming and embarrassing. This was just the most recent of bad interactions at this pharmacy. I truly dread it every time I have to pick up a prescription, but I continued my patronage because the location is convenient for me. After tonight, I'm intending to switch to a different pharmacy. Going out of the way is worth it if I can avoid this kind of unprofessionalism. I would not recommend this pharmacy at all. read more

Things that have happened to me at this pharmacy: 1. I was given someone else's prescription, which I realized solely because I was handed medication that required refrigeration. Pretty blatant breach of patient confidentiality. 2. A tech announced out loud exactly which medication he was retrieving for me - in front of a line of about 6 people (by the way, there is almost always a line of people waiting at this pharmacy). 3. Many, many times I have been told that my prescription was not ready, sometimes days after it was supposed to be filled. Not once has anyone at this pharmacy apologized for neglecting to fill a prescription - in fact, they usually are absurdly rude and act like they are doing me a favor when they actually start filling it. What compelled me to write this review is how utterly different my experience is now that I have changed pharmacies. I am amazed that this pharmacy continues to exist as it does, but I'm pretty sure it's based solely on the convenience of the location. read more

I would normally never take the time to review a CVS. Honestly I run in and out of them constantly without much thought. The staff at this location are wonderful. The people at the registers are always friendly and pleasant. The staff in the pharmacy are AMAZING! More than once they have gone out of their way to help me get a prescription at at time that was convenient for me. I wish that I could remember everyone's name. I'm sitting waiting for a prescription I dropped off at 12:30. They said it would be ready in an hour. I returned at 3:30, they told me it was being processed and would be another 10-15 minutes. At 3:45 I asked again and was told another 10-15 minutes. It is now 4:15, still no sign of it being ready. This is ridiculous. Why give a time when it will be ready if they will be almost 4 hours off?! read more

This has become my second least favorite CVS (after Harvard Square) for filling prescriptions. The last two times I've dropped something off for pickup I was told it would be a 3 hour wait. This last time I went to drop off and wait for a prescription, I was told that it was 2 days before the renewal date and that they couldn't fill it. When I asked them to call the insurance because they had approved this in the past I was told in a very haughty manner that it was the person who was waiting on me's decision and she had decided not to fill it, and by the way if she did fill it it would be a 3 hour wait. A bit of a mixed message there. When I went to another CVS, at my request they called the insurance company who approved the payment and I had the prescription in 20 minutes. read more

Today I had to deal with the rudest and meanest pharmacist, Neena, at CVS. My review cannot even begin to capture how awful my experience was. Turns out I was at the wrong CVS location for a vaccine and, after I had to deal with her rudeness and I came to realize there was a second location in town, she refused to call them for me. She told me they are too busy there and they do not answer the phone. Hmm. I told her I spoke to them just yesterday. After several asks, she finally agreed to dial the number, again telling me they won't answer, handed me the phone, and walked away. I ended up tossing the phone down and leaving. Interestingly, I called the correct CVS on my way over and they answered right away and couldn't have been nicer. I am in the midst of a call to CVS headquarters. I can only imagine how this person treats other people, such as the elderly. She shouldn't be working with the public in any way, shape or form! read more

I'm really not sure why there are all sorts of negative reviews of this place. Every time I drop off a prescription, they say it will be ready in about an hour and I will usually get a text in less than that timeframe stating that it's ready. They've always had what I needed in stock. It's nice and clean and bright. The staff is friendly and smile whenever I walk in. Don't go here for photos if you're trying to fulfill an online order. I placed an online order for a photobook. The website allowed me to select between a few stores, which I did. Once placed, I got an email that said that the order was delayed. I waited a day and called the store (the order should have been filled same day). The store associate said they don't fulfill online orders. So, I called the 888 number and after 40 minutes and going through about 8 stores that were listed as providing the service, finally one was able to do it (but had to wait for inventory to fulfill the order). The other stores claimed their machines were broken or they didn't have inventory or some other excuse. Maddening, especially since I was in a rush for the order. read more

This place I have extremely MIXED feelings about this pharmacy. Yeah, it's new. Yeah, it's clean. and Yes, it serves the Route 20 section of Wayland as a pharmacy and place to get reasonably priced goods. What I find ironic is the staff. I walked in to get a few bags of candy, Advil, and some other Valentine's Day stuff, as CVS normally has good sales. While walking in, the line was at least 6 or 7 people long, with 2 cashiers. When I got to checkout there was only 4 people in line, but the staff didn't seem to care about moving everyone along through quickly. One of the cashiers was talking for at least 5 minutes with one customer about something NOT related CVS, and holding up the line. Really! The Wayland store just doesn't seem to value their customers that much (or essentially are choosing customers they want to get to know and be friendly with). Not my favorite pharmacy, but I guess if it's convenient or you need something, it works and is a nice store to shop in. 3 stars. read more

This pharmacy needs to seriously review how it handles the drive-thru. On more than one occasion recently I've waited nearly ten minutes, often giving up and leaving without my prescriptions. Meanwhile I can see two or three pharmacists inside filling prescriptions and blatantly ignoring the drive-thru window. This is unacceptable. If you aren't going to service the drive-thru, don't have it to begin with. read more

The pharmacy staff is always really helpful and friendly. They clearly have the customer's well being as the priority. When the system went down and I needed a prescription for my son, the pharmacist was able to help us out, and as a parent, I was really grateful for that. read more

I moved to Wayland a couple years ago and started my prescriptions at the Wayland CVS, I've regretted it pretty much ever since. But I stick with them because the location is pretty convenient. I am officially changing pharmacies this month to Rite Aid. Every month that I go in for my prescriptions something goes wrong, either they try to give me a prescription I stopped taking a year ago, or they don't have the prescription in house, or they mysteriously never received the order even though I have a confirmation. I find the pharmacy people (for the most part) to be pretty rude, they will see me standing there waiting and not even acknowledge that I am there, a quick "hello, one moment" would suffice. They also have this annoying habit of putting my prescriptions on auto fill and calling twice a day to tell me my prescription is ready, even though I just picked it up. I call them all the time and tell them to take off auto fill, they say they do and then I still get the automatic calls saying my prescription is ready. Save yourself the hassle and headache, try a different pharmacy! read more

The store is normal, but the Pharmacy is just horrible. There always seems to be plenty of people working there, but they all stand around and don't seem to be doing much. Worst of all, they are bad tempered and snippy any time they have to do the slightest amount of work. BAD ATTITUDE! I blame this mostly on management of this store. The person in charge clearly does not care about service, and so neither do the workers. These people either need incentive to do their job, or they need to be replaced. read more

I am so disappointed with the new CVS. The corporation made no attempt to build a structure that reflects the history and character of this quaint New England Town. Instead we have a hugely over sized plastic-looking structure that looks like something from a strip mall in Los Angeles. The building is far too large and stocks many items of little value. I hear that CVS plans to build another one of these buildings in Wayland, showing how completely insensitive they are to local needs. I will be taking my business elsewhere read more

Such a frustrating place..they only survive because of their location. There have been several errors...not filling prescriptions, not being ready on time, they never notify if they can't fill a prescription, general incompetence (I'm only referring to the pharmacy). There is usually a line of disgruntled customers, each with a horror story. I called to ask about a flu shot for myself and my teenager, they had the appropriate shot. I get there and they only give it to 18 year olds. It never occurred to the pharmacist to clarify this when I said I had a teen. 0 stars would be more appropriate. I have been a lifelong customer of CVS and am so annoyed that this location is the more convenient one for me. I don't really have any issues with the main store itself, but the pharmacy is HORRIFIC. They are often out of common (and less common) medications, they give weird reasons as to why they are out of them ("so-and-so is on leave, and we can't order any more until she gets back," for example), the pharmacists are highly unprofessional, complaining about the regulations that govern their work and how annoying it is to count everything (not exaggerating here), most of the time when they say something will be ready at a certain time and I show up well after that time, it is not ready and they proceed to complain about how busy they are or how backed up they are because of any number of excuses (someone called in sick/is on vacation/they are understaffed). My old CVSs in all of the cities I've lived in before--in good neighborhoods and bad--have never been so ill-equipped or unprofessional. Did I mention the wait time in line alone (not to fill, just to pick up)? Minimum of 15 minutes, I'd say, and that's probably being generous. I've also been in the drive-up window line and seen people in front of me honking to get someone's attention in there after waiting patiently for too long a time. read more

I have been going to the pharmacy at the Wayland CVS for over a year now and every time I go the staff there are rude and speak down to customers. I had a prescription that I was trying to fill and CVS had called me a couple of weeks ago to let me know that it was ready to be refilled. I said that I still had some of the previous prescription and that I didn't need it yet and they said to just call when I was ready for it. When I went in today to collect it, the person at the desk was helping to look up the information when the pharmacist came over and rudely said that the prescription had expired and that they had tried to call to get me to refill it but I had said no so they couldn't help me. I feel like every time I go in there I am met with the same blunt, accusatory tone and lack of customer service. I have also had prescriptions filled wrong and was met with the same accusatory tone as if it were my fault. I will be taking my prescriptions elsewhere from now on. read more
