Arrived on time, competed the job as expected, but hesitated to give an estimate up front until after he started to cut into our copper pipes and then proceeded to quote us a price. Way different style of estimate compared to the other two plumbing quotes we had previously that quoted cheaper and were hands off until we first agreed upon a price and the repair method. Also skimped on the soldering of the copper pipes unions for a quick compression fit method instead, that was secure and adequate and up to code but not our families preferred method of repair. Overall did a good job in an efficient manner but was messy and I had to clean up afterwards. In all fairness, it was his 2nd weekend job on a hot Saturday afternoon, and we were a minor leak fix compared to the previous tankless water heater job they installed. Had I had all of my own tools, the job could have been completed for $100 or less with Home Depot or Do-It Center supplies. Call Around & do your homework, as C.W. Plumbing prices are in line with the Market but on the high side, as expected for our neighborhood as price gouging happens once people get your address and zip code and the more you tell them up front. Get 3-estimates before starting any home plumbing repair job! Our family also was not happy with the fact that 24-inches of it existing copper pipes were taken (cut off) from the original water softener line and kept by the plumber in his truck while we proceeded to grab a credit card from inside the house and pay the plumber. I have photos to prove it! When I politely questioned the plumber why he cut (took, stole) the extra 24-inches of copper pipes from our existing original plumbing setup using his electric sawzall, he proceeded to tell us that he didn't want anyone to hit the head on the pipes. The funny thing is that the pipes are mounted on the wall away from anyone coming close to them. It was a lousy excuse to steal expensive copper pipe for your next job to be used at. BEWARE OF THIS "PLUMBER" !!!.. He is more like a BAD "NOT-Handyman!! We had a simple Garbage Disposal install job done by "Craig", which turned into a minor DISASTER. A) He replaced our 3/4 HP unit with a 1/2HP unit, from his "Truck" -- B) The Unit he sold us was deflective from day 2, after his install. (We were constantly having to 'Allen-wrench'/re-set the unit. He came out once and messed with it, but eventually the Garbage Disposal unit finally ceased completely. C) Instead of "standing by his work, and his "word", he chose to blame US for putting the wrong garbage in the drain. {We have learned from previous experience, NOT to put coffee grounds, etc., etc. into the disposal)... This was obviously just a defective, (Possibly used!) disposal. Craig then told us to look at the Disposal's receipt and call their Warranty dept.!! What???? , (which we did not have, because he sold us the job WITH the disposal he had in "his truck")... after 3-5 days of us living with a clogged sink, he called to say he will send us our $$ back. The gas line exposing (wow the digging) then concrete afterwards was all scheduled and taken care of for me. The quality spoke for itself.
