Sarah said it all ^ Brent is absolutely awful. The first time I was supposed to meet with him to drop off the deposit, he left his office right before we were supposed to meet. He told me to just "drop it off". His office was messy and unorganized, just like the way he manages. One of our garage clickers was broken when we began our lease and it took months of persistent pestering until he finally met up with us. He took the remote, changed the battery (as if we have not tried that already), and gave it back to us and it still did not work. We have had problems with the plumbing as well as the fluorescent tube lights in the kitchen and we have asked Brent time and time again, and each time we have asked for help, he has either not answered or gave us an extremely ambiguous answer with no promise of when he would actually fix our problem. He is also very rude. I called and politely introduced myself as one of the tenants for a property he manages and he responded in the most apathetic tone "you're going to have to be more specific. From reading the other reviews, its seems that Brent Jones is either great, or rude and terribly frustrating to deal with. For my brother and I, he was incredibly (and I mean incredibly) unproffesional and over-all lacked adequate customer service. Upon becoming interested in an apartment, I left a message with Brent and was not contacted until 4 days later. I viewed and liked the property, and subsequently filled out an application. I let him know we were incredibly interested in renting the property, however it seemed as though it was more of a bother to him. Although frustrated and having been talked down to, I remained nothing but courteous in all of my conversations with Brent. However, after reaching out several times and enduring one too many rude, completely unwarranted comments, we unfortunately decided on giving up the property (which we really liked) due to having to deal with the unpleasantness of this property manager. The only good this he did was refund my application fee. C.W. Property Management... I'd be embarrassed to have this man as a representative for the company. Perhaps Mr. Jones needs a refresher on how to provide personable, courteous service in a timely manner, rather than being condescending and uncaring. read more

My fiance and I rented from Brent for a little over two years. I have to say, I disagree with the negative reviews here; and I really think some of that information must not be truthful. I haven't seen many houses these days where the pipes from the toilet shoot straight out the side of the house... That's just me though... Brent was always willing to get a handyman out anytime we asked. He was very cool to us and treated us like he really cared about us as tenants, and had our best interest at heart. I have worked in the real estate and customer service industry for years, and I think Brent is a very honest and trustworthy guy. He even looked out for, and assisted us with a few pointers when our previous home owner went into default, almost foreclosure, and had to do a short sale. He always said if we had quesitons, to please let him know, as well as if he could help in any way. The CW Property Management website is also a very convenient, and user friendly program to assist with rent payments, and maintenance requests. All in all, Brent takes his role as a property manager seriously and looks out for the best interest of his renters. I would recommend his services to anyone. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY and don't Rent with Brent. Yes the house I'm renting is affordable and a great deal for San Diego, BUT Everything they have on their page about how they take pride in serving their tenants is 100% complete Fucking Bullshit. In my lease it states the landlord would maintain all out door landscaping and water. They haven't touched a thing in 2 years so I'm maintaining it all. It wouldn't be bad but we have 6 different, completely over grown trees and an over grown backyard that is now taken over my 5 dif bushes, including a pine tree that drops pine needles all over the house and front area. The only way to trim is go on the roof but we are not aloud, only the landlords are and when they send someone over to "clean up" no one was here and all they did was scrape all the leaves, twigs and pine needles 2 ft from the gutters on the roof and all over the walkway so we could now clean it up and scrape the rest off. They flipped this house so it's falling apart and the foundation is sliding down the hill so my room floor is now at a 10-15% decline. The windows stopped opening and closing properly and there is a Hole in the Roof that was just covered up with fake wood on the roof that is now warped and a patch in the house and it now leaks all over that area. I've called, emailed, msged and put in maintenance request and trouble calls and I haven't had any Responses. The only time they came out was when the water heater broke and they fixed it almost a week after. I now put in my one month separation notice to get out of my month to month lease and Still no one has contacted me in the last week. Me and my roommate are active military members and all they're doing is taking advantage of us and going against they're own lease, with not one fucks to give. I'm moving but my friend is transferring in 7 months so he's going to stay here. I just hope he can contact them and properly leave and get some of his security deposit back. read more

We usually avoid property management companies whenever possible because we've had bad experiences in the past, but are very glad we chose to rent from Brent. He was very fair, always took care of any issues we had with the property in a timely manner, and was overall just a nice guy to work with. I rented a condo through CW Property Management for two years. In those two years I dealt exclusively with Brent and he was AWESOME! He genuinely cares about his tenants, he is prompt in responding to maintenance requests, and does a great job working with you no matter your situation. Be upfront and honest with him and he will do everything in his power to accommodate your needs. I was always able to get a hold of him or Becky (office manager) and they offer a convenient tenant portal to pay your rent. DONT WASTE YOUR APPLICATION FEES. Brent is a super rude person with absolutely no customer service skills. I applied for a duplex on Wed. 3 days later I still had not heard anything and decided to reach out. He said and I quote " Your credit is terrible". I am currently rebuilding my credit after identity theft and although I don't have the highest score, I am still a human with emotions. Not only did he lack basic tact but he wasn't even going to tell me that I was declined. He would prefer waste your time waiting for a response. At least have the common courtesy to notify a person. I see that I have dodged a bullet by not renting with this company. I have since found a cheaper and a responsive company. read more

If you can help it, don't rent with Brent (owner). He's like a used car salesman of the property management world. We're renting a house through him, $1695 a month, and since we moved in we've had problems with the plumbing. The owner was pre foreclosure so she needed a tenant ASAP. Well, the house wasn't ready to be occupied when it was listed, there was a fair share of maintenance to be done, but they said we could move in if we were ok with them fixing after we were in. We said that was cool and the handy man did come out. Once. He fixed 2 of the at least 10 issues and we never saw him again. For the last two months we had serious plumbing problems, infestation of ants and mice, and electrical problems. I informed Brent of the problems May 15th, 2012 and kept asking for him to send someone for two months. We finally paid a plumber ourselves to come out and fix the plumbing problem about a week ago because we had RAW SEWAGE spewing out of both pipes on either side of the house. I spent easily $100 buying friggen ant killer which didn't work and my cat took care of two mice, one drowned in my bathtub because it wouldn't drain(!!!!), and there's one still here. We are in the process of legally breaking our lease and moving out. This house is uninhabitable and Brent has known about it for over two months. Not entirely sure why he'd rather just sit on his ass than send someone to fix the problem, but you best believe I'm not paying to save some random lady's house when neither her or her agents actually care about it. Oh, and the icing on the cake. He wants me to say we're leaving because we can't afford it. I know exactly why he wants us to say that, he doesn't want to have to go to the owner and tell her he's not doing the job she pays him to do and the is the ONLY reason we are leaving. We love the idea of this house and it's in a nice, semi-secluded area which is a rare find in SD. read more

This was a terrible experience. Renters beware! I expressed interest and was contacted by Brent Jones. After I and the 2 elder adults submitted applications for a house rental, paid the $30.00 each at the end of the application, I never heard from Brent or the property management company again! I called Brent and he was rude, stated I would be contacted in the next couple days and, in effect, said "don't call me, I'll call you". Well, he never did. i made attempts to communicate with the company by emailing the company, emailing brent, calling brent on his number he had provided and calling the company business number leaving a msg requesting a call back as I was waiting to hear when to expect a decision. I received no response. I found out the home was rented by looking it up on Zillow. I plan to check and see if they even did a credit report or just pocketed my money and rented to someone else without even bothering to let me know. Too bad CW plays games with people's lives. Update: Brent redeemed himself- he called and apoligized and refunded my application fees. Hopefully things keep moving upward from here for folks looking for a place to live. read more

The house was in great condition when we moved in and we really only ran into one or two issues, which Brent had repaired in a timely manner. When I came to the San Diego area in late 2012, I was looking for a reasonably priced unit and I luckily found the property managed by CW. The rental price beat the competition by 500 dollars easily. I had an overall great experience with Brent and the unit. Whenever something was broken or worn out, I called him and he had it taken care of with his handy man within a week. He took great care of me while I was deployed and handled all my issues when they came about. I recommend using CW to find a place to live. Great experience overall. read more

I rented a property from CW property management for close to 6 years across the street from University of San Diego, which is where I was at for undergraduate and graduate school. The amount I paid for a three bedroom was inexpensive for the area, which was a plus(1200) they only raised it in the last year to 1300, still a good deal. Brent was a great property manager. If anything was broken it was fixed next day. I wanted to put in a small garden, he so no issue with it. If I return to San Diego after getting my Phd in Ann Arbor, CW property management will be the first place I call to find a new place. read more

Brent and CW property management were one of the better management companies I dealt with while I lived in San Diego. Brent was responsive to my needs and concerns, and even though he is a little rough around the edges; he is a fair man. When my company gave me a job opportunity in another state; I called up Brent and asked about getting my security deposit back. He said "if I can get someone in there before the end of the month"... which I feel is fair, since I signed a contract to supply rent for that place for a year. I gave him plenty of notice, I assisted in allowing people to see my apartment; and when I moved out, he was able to move someone in. I got my security deposit back less than 30 days later. Rented with CW for three years and dealt with Brent, and had an awesome experience. Direct and to the point, but courteous and understanding when need to be. Anytime there was a need for maintenance and when we moved out it was handled with respect and in care of the customer. The customer service was excellent. read more

Brent responded when anything popped up and I need to get in touch with him. He did not raise my rent after the first year like so many rental property managers do. He was always genuinely nice and reasonable, and I would have no problem doing business with him again in the future. Don't rent through this company. Brent is extremely rude, lacks basic common courtesy, is highly unprofessional, and should not be in this business AT ALL. I liked the property that I rented through him, and the only reason I stayed as long as I did was because of the location. The unit itself had nothing but problems from the beginning (flooding, pipe issues, bug problems, lack of maintenance and landscaping, etc etc etc). I was putting in requests for maintenance regularly, and I was lucky if I got a response from Brent within a day or two. A few times, weeks went by without hearing from him. He is an unpleasant & abrasive person to even have to deal with, and frankly - he might have properties available in highly desirable locations around the city, but please consider ALL of your options when thinking about renting one of these places. Unfortunately, dealing with him comes along with it. And I'd say, with 100% confidence - its NOT worth it. Moved out finally and could not be happier. read more
