My review is for the Aescape massage provided by Equinox. I saw an ad for the Aescape robot massage…read morewhile scrolling Facebook - Aescape places these massage machines in different gyms and spas, so I picked the Equinox in Aventura since it was the closest. Check-in at the main gym front entrance was quick and pleasant , but once I got to the desk in the spa area it took a minute to find anyone to actually help me. Eventually someone showed me to the room and had me change into the little fitted top and bottom they provide. You also take off your shoes and jewelry and put your hair up so the machine arms don't get caught. Everything is computerized [no surprise there] When you lie face-down, there's basically an iPad-esque screen right under you. From this screen you pick your massage style, pressure, focus areas, ambiance music, adjust the table... all of it. Then the machine scans your body to map out your stress points like it's building a strategic plan for your back. FYI -- if you move, even a little, the machine pauses until you're back in position. I chose the full-body massage with extra attention on my shoulders. Each section had phases -- a warm-up, the main massage, and a cooldown. You can skip past any section if you want and adjust pressure at any time. Now, my mind kept flashing to every robot movie I've ever seen but honestly? This was one of the best massages I've had. The machine knew exactly where my shoulder knots were hiding. When I finished, there was nobody at the tiny spa desk again, so I just quietly walked out. Wasn't sure what else to do lol I give the massage itself 5 stars, but took one off because the spa area felt completely unattended both when I walked in and when I walked out. I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to check out with someone or just disappear into the sunset I will say I recall the person who helped me saying it was a relatively new addition to the gym [I think], and I did receive a follow up text asking about my experience. For the price [$19 to $$29] it cant be beat. I'm definitely going back, not just for the cost though but because that massage actually got the knots out of my shoulders!

Many times we believe that a coach is there to tell you how many repetitions and voila, what's more, it is common to see them watch TV or start conversations with other people making you feel insignificant which does not help in the transformation you are looking for when transforming your body, I quickly understood after working with others that like everything in life, exceptional is achieved with small adjustments beyond the standard. The training methodology and strategy not only includes eating well, but your mentality when doing your exercises, thanks to him I feel motivated and I'm even giving more than I think I can and here is the key, I don't know It is about repetitions, but about the set and the personality of the one in front of you and the group work of different muscles, that is achieved with experience and Moe you have it, so if you are looking to transform your body and you want someone who knows, and gives results and not only that but it will be there to push you psychologically and physically you must train with it! My word to define it is exceptional, remember that life does not reach excellence with mediocrity, you must work with the best! You find it in Olympia gym in adventure! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After an assessment session, Jorge had me perform several re-balancing exercises that had me moving in harmony with my body's current condition and restrictions. After a short time I was able to go further into a natural squat position than I ever have in my life! I can't wait for my next session with Jorge, and I will be recommending this facility and training to everyone!

CrossFit ATP, a little rough around the edges but warm and comforting when you need it…read more The staff here is nice. And I say this as I work on hiding my "I'm deathly afraid" face but to no avail- they see right through it and thus try their hardest to make that awful "oh man, what am I getting myself into" feeling disappear into the abyss. I must admit, it's hard not to walk in and want to walk right back out. I mean, this is hardcore but I guess chances are if you've signed up for CrossFit, you know what you're getting yourself into. If somehow it was done on a whim and you're completely clueless (like myself), I'm sorry for you but given time, you might find it to be the best option (wait until after the workout to make any decisions). Here's my warning: While this may resemble a gigantic playground for adults, don't be fooled. It's an intense workout not meant for the weak - mentally or physically. You need to be motivated and willing to torture yourself every class. If you're used to the standard method of training, then this will throw your world in a whirl with its circuit-based challenges. The venue itself is located on the corner of US1, not too far from the Aventura area, which is cool. The space seems to be kind of small but since everyone will be on different phases of the workout, it doesn't become an issue so much. Come often enough and from what I can tell, it ends up being a community rather than just "a place to sweat". Yeah, that's cool. But I can't help but wonder if I can have that "community" feeling with something like yoga instead (you know, where I don't have to die repeatedly?). Yeah, yeah. I'm done complaining. Here are my quick take-aways - Yes, it gives you a complete workout in half the time. Yes, it's challenging. Yes, it's for women also (true story, bro). Yes, you will want to die - before, during and after. O_o Yes, you may get injured (which can be minimized by proper form). Yes, you will feel great (post-workout death). I personally, can't see myself doing CrossFit three or four times a week - just too intense for my liking but it is a great option for those who can maintain such a high intensity workout without injuries. I'll probably just go every once in a while aka when I need to shake things up a bit or when I feel the desire to REALLY kick things into high gear.
