I am submitting this review to document a serious issue I experienced with Cyan's Auto Repair involving my Audi R8, which I owned at the time of service. I brought the vehicle in to have my winter wheels swapped for my summer set. At drop-off, the vehicle had 39,784 miles. During the visit, the owner represented that he owned an Audi R8 RWS and was experienced working on these vehicles, including performing oil changes. During the service, I was instructed that the vehicle needed to be driven while one quart below the maximum oil level. I was also informed that the car would be test driven, and it was taken off-site before being returned and "topped off" prior to being released back to me. Additionally, payment for the service was requested via Venmo to a personal account rather than through a standard business payment method (documentation available and attached with identifying details redacted). Within approximately 30 miles of driving after the service (at approximately 39,815 miles), the vehicle experienced catastrophic engine failure. The vehicle had to be towed (photo documentation available). The car was subsequently inspected at Grove Automotive 2.0. I was informed that the oil filter contained significant copper material, and an oil analysis performed at that facility also indicated elevated copper levels. I was advised that these findings can be associated with severe internal engine damage (supporting documentation attached). Following this inspection, I received repair estimates exceeding $70,000. Given the extremely short interval between the service performed and the engine failure, along with the practices described above and the findings from the inspecting facility, I have serious concerns regarding the quality and standard of work performed on my vehicle. I am sharing this experience to document the issue and to encourage others to exercise caution, particularly when entrusting high-value or high-performance vehicles to this shop. I recommend that consumers fully document all work performed and consider obtaining a second opinion before authorizing service. I would strongly recommend avoiding this mechanic. I brought my BMW in because of an engine overheating issue. They told me the cooling fan needed to be replaced, although I already suspected the fan was working fine--because the very first time my engine overheated, I actually heard the fan running before the warning message appeared on my screen. I paid $1,300 for the repair and left the shop, only for my engine to overheat again after driving about 30 miles. I almost ended up paying another $500 for towing. The next day I managed to get the car back to the shop because the original problem was clearly not fixed. At first, he told me he would take care of it, but the next day he changed his story and said I would "only need to pay for parts." By that point, he had already significantly overpriced the parts--I know the prices of genuine OEM BMW parts, and his quote was much higher. Then the following day he texted me saying that price was for parts only, strongly implying I would also have to pay labor again. He then claimed that the water pump and thermostat were failing and showed fault codes on the computer. The problem is, when I first brought the car in, I specifically asked him to check the water pump and thermostat because I had this exact issue about 3 years ago and had already replaced both. I also mentioned a knocking noise coming from the engine that I suspected could be related to the overheating, and that was written on the invoice. This makes it seem like a proper diagnostic was never done the first time. One day I was told everything else was working fine, and the next day suddenly multiple major components were "bad." What's even more suspicious is that after they replaced the fan, the new diagnostic still showed a fan malfunction code, even though they had supposedly replaced it the day before. I still don't understand why that error was still there. In the end, my car had the exact same overheating problem, the same engine noise, and the same symptoms as before I brought it in. I paid $1,300 and the original issue was never fixed. To add to everything above, I also know that the new parts they were recommending cost approximately $800 total, and with labor, this would have cost me at least another $1,500 or more on top of what I had already paid. After already spending $1,300 for a repair that did not fix the original issue, I had very little confidence in paying even more for additional repairs that should have been properly diagnosed from the beginning. I strongly believe that if a car leaves the shop and breaks down again after only a few miles with the exact same issue, I should not be expected to pay for repairs a second time. This didn't happen weeks or even days later--it happened the very same day. To me, that clearly shows the original repair or diagnosis was not done correctly, and I ended up paying for something that did not actually fix the problem. read more

BEWARE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS AUTO SHOP. Cyans Auto Center in Berlin, NJ is the absolute worst auto shop I have ever been to. Chris Lied about what was wrong with my car. After I paid them over a $1000, my car felt worst than before and when I came back to the shop to let him know, he tried to milk me out of more money. Chris and the other mechanic's are very rude and they tried to make an argument with me when I asked about the other work they did to my car. I feel like they are a scam! I will never take my car back to them. read more

BIG THANK YOU to Chris and the team at Cyan's Auto Repair today when I became stranded in the back roads of Medford on a holiday weekend, after I got a flat tire due to a pothole that bent my rim. I managed to get the tire off and catch a ride to two brand name tire shops on Rte 73, who both refused to help me because my rim was bent. Luckily, I tried Cyan's Auto (rim specialists) in West Berlin - and they dropped everything, worked as a team to help me, ordered me a new rim and tire, and repaired my damaged tire well-enough to get me back home (from Medford, 18 miles) in Williamstown. Cyan's Auto Repair chose to make my unfortunate situation a priority, and I can't thank them enough - especially considering other brand name shops didn't feel my unfortunate situation warranted an immediate response. I will forever be grateful for this AWESOME customer service experience. Even though my situation was dire, Cyan Auto Repair went above and beyond to make sure the costs were reasonable and offered me several options to remedy my situation. Have 2012 Subaru out of no where dash board had warning - Check Engine, Brakes, Cruise and slippery therefore drove to Cyan Auto in Berlin, NJ Repair technician plugged in Scanner to check codes ended up to be brake pads, rotors, and ABS sensor. very helpful and explained cost to repair plus offer special service discount also included free oil change. This was second time that Cyan auto repair took care of my vehicle appreciate there knowledge handling issues professionally even his wife offered water and candy.
