He backed up my data, did a clean install of windows and put all my files back on the system for 150 bucks. i thought that was Very reasonable because geeksqad wouldve charged 250 or more for the same services. Saved me alot of BS. the guy who i talked to offered to pick up & drop off the computer for free, but i had to leave in 30 mins so he had to work around me. he was there in 15 mins. nice guy, well mannered. he answered some questions i had about losing my files while he seat-belted the computer into the back seat of his car. i literally talked to the guy for about 5 mins and gave him my cell phone number to call when he was done. that was around 10am and he called me just before 2pm to let me know it was done, everything went well and what time should he drop it off. i was very happy and told him i was back home. he was over in 15 mins again and helped me connect to my wireless network. i asked him for some business cards for friends and he had 5 cards in his shirt pocket so i took them all. its rare and hard to find an experience like this. very minimalist, straight to the point, dirt cheap and professional attitude he also gave me some very reassuring text updates during the 4 hours he was working on the laptop. i dont know if evrything just happened to work out perfect for me but i recommend highly :)

My memory card was literally broken with missing pieces and there were pictures of numerous trips my parents did to Europe years ago and those pictures were pretty much priceless. I tried everything to try to get them myself but was unsuccessful. I was able to get back pretty much all of the hundreds and hundreds of pictures!! The service was very fast and at a great price. I would definitely use this place again and again no questions asked!!

I was desperate for a company to recovery my files, and I came across Data Recovery New Jersey. What set them apart from other companies is that they fix hard drives IN HOUSE, meaning they do not ship it out elsewhere to get fixed. I wanted to hand deliver my hard drive directly to the source, and I was able to do that. Larry was great to speak with, he's super knowledgeable and helped me understand the possible issues & how they'd go about repairing it. From speaking via email to meeting in person, he was very thorough and made me feel like my hard drive was in good hands. The repair took around 2 weeks (I wasn't in a rush to get it repaired, I told him it can be put on the back burner as long as it got done). I had him ship my recovered data back ($20 shipping fee, $70 for a new hard drive for him to put my recovered data on), and HALLELUJAH he recovered all my missing files!!!! I am forever grateful to this company, they legitimately brought back all my precious memories.

I am beyond frustrated and deeply disappointed with the appalling service we received from Hudson…read moreRiver Technologies. For years, this company provided exceptional support, and we trusted them completely with our IT infrastructure. Unfortunately, since their recent change in ownership, that trust has been destroyed. The new management demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism and accountability. They refused to transfer access to our Microsoft365 account, effectively holding our business hostage. As a direct result, our email service was shut down for five full days. For any business, this would be disruptive--but as a healthcare provider, this is completely unacceptable. We rely on timely communication to access up-to-date medical records and respond to patient needs. This outage severely impacted our ability to provide proper care and support to our patients and clients. What makes this situation even worse is that Hudson River Technologies created the problem in the first place, yet refused to resolve it unless we paid a fee upfront as well as sign a multi-year contract for support we don't need, with huge monthly fees. This feels less like customer service and more like coercion. After years of loyalty, we were treated as though our urgent needs--and the well-being of our patients--were irrelevant. This experience has been incredibly damaging, both operationally and professionally. I would strongly caution any business, especially those in critical fields like healthcare, against relying on this company.

The owner, Joe, called me with a genuine and respectful manner to discuss the situation. He also…read moreshared his intention behind founding the service, and offered a free repair for the broken bezel. I appreciated his sincerity and the way he takes responsibility for his work. During the conversation, he also provided helpful and professional advice regarding my other tech-related concerns. Overall, I felt that he genuinely cares about both the service he provides and the people he helps. Because of this follow-up and support, I am revising my overall experience to a 4-star review. I also hope the company's culture continues to reflect this level of care and professionalism and continues to support both customers and staff. --------------------------------------- Previous review -I brought my MSI laptop to this shop for a lid repair. At the time, there was a small crack on the left side near the hinge, and I was worried it might get worse , but the screen bezel was intact. I was initially told that once the part arrived, they would notify me to bring in the laptop, and the repair would then take about a full day. The part arrived on December 30, 2025, I dropped off the laptop on January 6, and picked it up on January 9. -After I got home, I turned on the webcam to prepare for a meeting, and noticed that the screen displayed a blue image. I contacted the shop immediately. I was asked to bring the laptop back for further inspection, but no explanation was provided regarding the possible cause of the issue. -Since the shop is about an hour away, I asked whether a remote diagnosis could be done first to better understand the situation. I was informed that there would be a charge for that service. At the same time, I looked into common causes of this issue and found that it can result from a protective film not being removed during repair. However, this possibility was not discussed. -If a likely cause had been communicated, it would have helped me better understand whether an immediate return visit was necessary. Without that information, the situation was unclear and required additional time and travel to resolve. -More recently, about four months after the repair, I noticed that the bezel near the hinge has cracked, even though I have been handling the laptop carefully. This area was not damaged prior to the repair. Given that the hinge area is a high-stress point, I am concerned that the repair or reassembly may have contributed to this issue. Overall, my experience was disappointing. While the initial interaction felt welcoming, it was followed by a noticeably self-protective approach when issues arose. Although the repair was completed, I encountered additional problems afterward that required significant time and effort to resolve. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend that others ask detailed questions about the repair process, confirm what testing will be performed, and ensure the device is thoroughly checked at the shop before taking it home. In general, I believe that clear communication and transparency are important in building trust with customers over the long term.
