Triumph Motorcycles is one of the great revival and success stories of the past century. I've…read moreowned two of their motorcycles over the years and each one has been a remarkable work of engineering. My current Triumph is the Bonneville, a retro-styled air-cooled vertical twin, which harkens back to the days of Mods & Rockers, cafe racers, Marlon Brando and Steve McQueen. It's a very cool machine which despite it's very reasonable sticker price, immediately draws attention and compliments wherever I go. As the products go, Triumph builds a very high-quality motorcycle using high-pressure casting techniques, very long hard nitriding times on engine parts, very high-quality chrome and paint work and lots of stainless steel fasteners and spokes. This adds to the product's durability and great appearance year after year. The engines and transmissions are extremely bulletproof. My Bonneville now has over 132,000 miles with no internal work being done on it whatsoever. Just oil changes and basic maintenance. That's a real testament to their over-engineering and build quality. Communication with Triumph has been hit or miss. As corporations go, their customer service rates about middle of the road, and their dealership network, often sharing floorspace with other marques is spotty. Their saving grace truly is the fantastic bikes they manufacture. I highly recommend Triumph if you're considering buying a new motorcycle.

When I dropped the bike off on a Saturday, I was told the service manager was out and would follow up with me Tuesday. No one ever called. I went in on Thursday and was told they don't typically work on Triumph motorcycles, but they would order the needed parts and contact the insurance adjuster if anything else was required. That was the last time they proactively contacted me. Over seven weeks, I had to go to the shop in person multiple times just to get vague updates. At week three, they said parts were ordered but not all had arrived. At week four, still waiting. At week six, they claimed the parts were the wrong color and needed to be returned. The service manager said he would personally drive to a Triumph dealer in North Georgia to get the correct parts -- he never did. Eventually, after seven weeks of little to no progress, the service manager said they would transport the bike to a Triumph dealership in North Georgia. That never happened either. My wife went in to speak with the GM, who told her this is a Honda dealership and questioned why we even brought it there -- despite the fact that it was recommended by our insurance adjuster. Moreover, GM communicated to my wife that Triumph would not send any parts to a non-Triumph dealership, but the service manager told me personally that some parts were on hand and others received were wrong. Communication was almost nonexistent. Calling for updates was pointless -- either you get hung up on, transferred to nowhere, or sent to voicemail that is never returned. The biggest disappointment was how the GM handled the situation. The shop had multiple opportunities to tell me they could not repair the bike but instead strung us along for seven weeks with zero progress. In the end, I had to hire a transport company myself to move the bike to another dealership -- and found out no parts had ever actually been ordered. This was a complete waste of time and an incredibly frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding this shop for any repairs, especially insurance work. You will regret it if you use them for any type of repair.

Though they don't know when they'll get one in. Specifically I was interested in a 2022 Heritage and their website and Cycle Trader listings both indicated they had 3 in stock with 7 miles on the odometer. I drove over 300 miles round trip to find the only Heritage they had on the floor was a 2018 listed for over the MSRP of the new model I wanted to look at in person. Old school bait and switch. Now I can understand one listing being a legitimate one off case of another customer beating me to the sale but 3 listings for 3 different colors of the same make and model all magically having 7 miles on the odometer is not accidental. Overall a whole days waste of time.
