Cycle World saved the day! I originally went to Mack's Cycle with my 50-year-old Raleigh Sport - which had every working part in great working condition except it needed two new tires. Mack's said, "You need a new bike," to which I said no, I just needed two tires. Mack's then said that it was way too complicated to put two new tires on the bike. Worst of all was the attitude. The service person acted as though I had interfered with his day and didn't deserve to be alive. Thankfully, Cycle World on Bird Road wasn't far away, and about 35 minutes after arriving there, I left with two new tires and the most wonderful, enjoyable customer service experience. The staff were kind and helpful, didn't try to sell me a new bike, couldn't believe that anyone would think that it was a complicated task, and loved that my old bike was in such remarkable condition. "Subi" was the gentleman who did the job, and he couldn't believe anyone in the business would find it difficult. All the staff were welcoming and pleasant, and the price was very reasonable. I'll never hesitate to go back to Cycle World again. I wish all businesses operated the way Cycle World does! read more

Summary: This is a tricky one because I like the services they provide, and so far their products have been of a good quality, the staff is professional and helpful, but still I feel they are missing that personal relationship you need to have with your bike's "doctors". Technically they have done a great job every time, but personally I feel there's something missing. The Experience: I had a bike, I had my go-to bike shop, but after my bike got old enough to require more money in fixes and repair than what a new one would have cost, I decided to get a new one... almost two years ago, mid pandemic... when bike inventories were low, prices were climbing, and wait times were forever. My regular bike shop was out of models within what I was looking for... so I shopped around and ended up choosing one from Cycle World. I bought an Hybrid Giant Cypress. The salesperson was helpful and knowledgeable, and the store worked with me with a new store credit card. I returned for the first "free" tune up, but a few months later I returned to my regular bike shop for the next tuning, for no other reason than I already have an established relationship with them and they are close to my job so it's easier to get around there. Then I started using my bike a lot more than the previous one, so I started needing more stuff and started working more often from home, so I ended up trying several stores/shops, mainly depending on where I was at the moment I needed something, including returning to Cycle World a couple of times. So far, they've had everything I've needed, and their work has been impeccable, they are helpful, they explain well, the store is organized and easy to navigate... the prices are within the average (well, there are a couple of things on the expensive side, but then again, there are also some good offers)... However, I like to have the more personal treatment I used to have... Other than that, I do recommend Cycle World 100%. read more

This place is top of the line. The manager, Ram, goes out of his way to make sure your product is in perfect condition before you leave. If you want to add a kick stand, bell, cell phone holder, lights, or racks they do it at no charge and with a small on their faces. I very highly recommend this place. They had a wonderful selection and actually had the exact bike I was looking for, but I did not purchase my bike from them. Our sales associate did not even know that there were two different models of the bike I came to buy, nor could he tell the difference in sizes or assist us in choosing the correct size. I did get to test a similar bike in the size I needed after we specifically asked to do that. But, as I tested the bike, he went and started assisting another customer and NEVER came back to acknowledge us. We left to go buy the bike from another store. Joan from Cycle World did reach out to me about this "lapse" in service, but I have (naturally) also read other reviews. They mostly indicate the same thing: that most of the staff is wonderful and that the owner is unhelpful and inattentive. I'd rather shop at a place where the owner and staff care about their customers rather that the staff caring more than the owner. So there was ONE 2017 SE Bikes Lil Ripper left for sale in the entire world. CW had it and I saw it online. The print said will not ship...damn. I called up figuring I'd have someone from a huge internet forum I belong to pick it up and ship it to me. The salesman I talked to (Kristian) said he thinks this bike can be shipped. I let him know I needed it in a couple weeks and speed is of the essence. He got approval to ship it and after a money transfer it was boxed and on a FedEx truck headed to Las Vegas. I am so glad I decided to go to cycle world to see their bikes. I had been to two other bike shops who apparently didn't care to have my business. However, they were very attentive at this shop. Gus was very helpful, funny and attentive. I must admit I purchased more items just because I felt so welcomed after having two negative experiences at other shops. I got a great bike at a good price. And he even offered to deliver it (after he realized we were almost neighbors) if it didn't fit in my car. Luckily it fit. This review is based solely on the brake adjustment I received on my fixed gear 6KU bike. I bought the bike online months ago but never adjusted the brakes as my commute has almost no stops. However, it was about time I adjusted them. I came in and asked the young woman at the front desk for an estimate on how much it'll cost and she took out a sheet with rates for all sorts of repairs. She quoted me $15. Fantastic. I know it's a quick fix for professionals but I felt like most businesses could make up a price. That's the good thing about their rate sheet. The man in the service area was finishing up another bike and I only waited a few minutes for service. I explained what I needed and got the job done in about 10-15 minutes. He allowed me to test it in the parking lot and now my bike rides as good as ever! He even lubed the chain for free. Definitely coming back if I ever need anything. read more

They sell biking apparel, some of the prices are high so be warned. They have a good variety of bikes, from mountain bikes to road bikes. This store is definitely the first stop if you are planning on purchasing a bicycle. The salesmen on the floor are not only extremely knowledgeable, but they are also cyclists. They will ask you if you want a road bike, a mountain bike or a hybrid, if the bicycle is for you or for a kid (they also sell kids' bikes), and if you don't know, they will probably ask you why are you wanting to buy a bike, just to know if it's for fitness or for commuting. The reason I stopped by is because I have a Jamis hardtail mountain bike with 26 inch wheels that I have been using mostly as a road bike. I want something faster than a mountain bike and considering a road bike is out of the question because a fat guy doesn't look good on a road bike. Or tight pants. The options that I was given at Cycle World were 1) a mountain bike with 29 inch wheels or 2) a hybrid mountain bike frame with road bike wheels. Now, I spent about 45 minutes just talking bikes, colors, possible uses, preferences, hypotheticals and what ifs. The person helping me also went to the back to check a specific color of a later model. Everything with a smile. In the end I was not able to make up my mind, so instead I went to look at the apparel. Guess what? The salesman gave me a tour of the apparel section and even recommended a couple long sleeve trainers. He then shook my hand and left to help a new group of people that had just walked in. Without a doubt, this has been the best customer service I have received in a while in Miami. Cycle World sells primarily lots of Trek and Giant bikes but they have other brands available. It is not the largest showroom, but it is a large one. The apparel section, on the other hand, may possibly be the largest cycle wear collection in town, and it is not cluttered or disorganized. They also have some shoes, lots of helmets, bags, accessories, sunglasses (Oakley and other brands). They also have an area dedicated solely to parts and service, this one undoubtedly the largest I have seen. But really, the amount of help dispensed at this bicycle shop is unparalleled. For a newbie, a middle of the road cyclist, or a seasoned aficionado, guidance is available. And that is precisely why this store gets five stars above the competition. read more

Came to the store after my brother recommended coming here since he buys and gets the maintenance for his four bikes purchased here. I understand we are goin through hard times now as we all go through a pandemic. Me and my mother we were both wearing pepper apparel (mask and gloves). We were greeted by the rudest employee, named Gus. He asked us what we wanted and we simple said we would like to purchase a bike. Right off the bat he told us that the cheapest bike was 600 dollars. My family has purchased a thousand dollar trek bike, a specialized bike and a 300 dollar trek that was on special. The whole entire time he was harassing us though the store following us. And then when we asked for the bike we wanted he was not so much help. Because of the times we are living business owner cannot afford to loose any sale as we don't know how long we will be in this predicament. This poor excuse of a person went ahead to argue with my mother that my brother never bought a 300 dollar bike there and demanded a receipt from previous purchase!!!! We left and refuse to render any more business to this company. There were plenty of other bike shops in bird road where we got our professional bike and the service was what we expected. My brother and my family will no longer be patronizing this business, as we have no tolerance for disrespect and low standard customer service. I really hope this person learns how to manage the public or other sales will be lost. If this person was the manager or the owner himself he should reconsider his stand in the business. read more

Cycle world is what I call a problem solver. When you traverse Miami on a bicycle, it is a must to know where the nearest bike shop is, in case you will need a mechanical rescue. But it is not only for the last second repairs, it is also for tune ups, inventory and a place to find parts and accessories. I have found Cycle world to be a good supplier of all of the above. My tune ups are always spot on, I have picked up a jersey or two and always have been able to count on them for my spare parts and other stuff. I recently received a bike from here as a gift. A friend recommended Robert to my wife. He helped her find the right bike for the right price. I took it back the next day to get the seat adjusted and make sure the bike fit me properly. For some reason whoever put the bike together didn't do the best job, which I didn't notice. He readjusted everything and rechecked everything. Then he took me out to the parking lot to make sure the seat was at the right height and that the bike fit me properly. Even advised me against buying another seat until I got use to the one on the bike. Took my bike and tried to explained to "Juan" (tall skinny bald dark guy with glasses) what STILL needed to be repaired. First, I'm not sure if this address is correct; Cycle World's website says 8750 SW 40th St. Regardless, the 8750 location is temporary as they're supposedly moving in the relatively near future. Large selection of entry-level and mid-level kids', cruisers, hybrids, road tourers, and mountain-trail-type bicycles. Also lots of accessories, so it should be easy to find a basic horn or bag or lighting kit for your commuter or weekend bike. I've been here three times with the full intention to buy a frameset that was hanging on the side wall. First time, I was quoted a pretty high price, given the frame's age and type of construction. I came back a few weeks later, and was quoted DOUBLE that original price. I used to think I was pretty good at negotiating, but I'm honestly at a loss; the owner must not want to part with that dust-collecting, antiquated hunk of metal and plastic. Given that experience, I wouldn't shop here, and I wouldn't recommend that others who want a fair experience shop here. read more

What brought me to this store was the website. Let me just say whoever is in charge of that is doing a great job. Not only is it easy to navigate but the prices on the website are exactly the ones you find at the store. That's always iffy when it comes to mom and pop shops and just upsets the consumer when they go to the website and see one thing and then go to the store and find something else. I came here to buy my first road bike and was pretty knowledgeable about what I wanted so they helped me get to the bike I wanted right away. Now I wanted to stay pretty loyal to my other bike shop, Coral Way Bike Shop but I found my bike here $20 cheaper. Not only that, they had it in stock in my size. I would have had to wait a week for it to come in at that other store. I will say this, when I left that store with my Trek 1.1 it was if they had handcrafted it especially for me. I spent a good 30 minutes with an employee there, Ramiro, getting fitted for the right size. I got on this device that measured the inseam so they were able to tell what frame would best suit me and then go on a couple of bikes on the floor for more sizing. It was almost like getting fitted for a suit and for the price I was paying I didn't mind the attention to detail. While my bike was being assembled which took like 45 minutes, he walked with me to pick up some accessories for it. Of course they want you to buy everything but I had most of the stuff and only grabbed an extra tire and some lights for night riding. After the bike got assembled they placed it on the trainer and I got even MORE adjustments done to it while also learning how the shifting mechanism works. As for inventory, they are stocked. See the pictures I posted. The store has all kinds of bikes, from top of the line (almost worth as much as a car) to mountain bikes and kid bikes. Prices are on the bikes so there's no need to go around looking for an employee to find how much a bike is selling for.The employee were extremely knowledgeable. They also have many people working the floor and it all seems to be family or friends of family. Your first 60 days of service on your bike is free, they recommend you take your bike in after 30 days of riding to get it tuned up. read more
