Was a great Saturday morning class. My first time spinning at Cycle Bar and the team was super friendly and helped me get all set up.

The interior is clean and their reforms are in very good shape. They call them megareformers and they're definitely larger than ones I've seen at other studios. Overall the process was easy to use. The interior was very clean, and the two staff members were super nice. There is one bathroom to change, and hangers + cubbies for clothes. The location also provides towels. You need to have grip socks. They provide them for sale but it's pretty steep at $25+/pair so make sure to get them in advance. Online booking via MINDBODY was very easy and they had a lot of availability. The workout was fast paced and I felt like the instructor did a great job of keeping everyone moving with minimum breaks. The playlist was also great and added to the experience. We started with some upper body and arms, and then transitioned to squats and legs. We did pretty much no core in the session I attended. My only complaint was the workout was pretty easy compared to what I was expecting for a studio reformer class. The lower body exercises were all very quad focused, and it felt like the opted for pacing over maintaining tension. Overall solid experience.

The traditional class is one hour long with warm-up and cool down. In the traditional format you learn 1 minute of choreography. 1 minute doesn't sound like a lot but that is several different eight counts. At the end of class you do an optional group performance. I always get a really good workout (400 kcal burned at least) every time that I signed up for class. My other favorite class that I like to attend is the non-stop cardio format which is 45min. This reminds me more of Zumba or Werk, were you follow the teacher for the dance moves and there is multiple songs. In the traditional format, you have the same song the whole class. Which is nice because you get to know the type of music and instructor before class. The music choices vary: Latin, pop, hip hop, 90s, 00s, and various others types. This location is relatively new but so far the community is diverse and well rounded. The owner Julia has done a good job of keeping the momentum going. What I like is that they do so much outside of dancing such as Diva Dates and neighborhood outings. I recommend giving this a try if you like dancing and being around some amazing people. The instructors have various techniques and I am thrilled when I leave class learning something new. I believe your first class is free, so come check it out.

With stroller strides I can grab some snacks for my baby, her favorite book, a couple toys and take her with me! It's a game changer! Even when I feel like I don't want to go, as soon as I'm there, I am happy I came!! And it's not only about mamas we also do a lot of socializing. Just find a momma with a kid your kids age and you can always find something cool to do as a "stay and play" after class; there's the Peggy Notebaert nature museum with a awesome butterfly display and indoor playground for cooler months, or Lincoln Park zoo that's right around the corner, plus tons of playgrounds with splash pads nearby--so it's easy and fun to make a day of it!! The workouts make a difference-I have noticed a difference in my body and fitness level as well, the class isn't just window-dressing if you really push yourself. Can't say enough good about stroller strides, try it! Your first class is free so go for it momma!

He was born…read morein August 2015 and so 6 months later I was looking for a way to get back into shape, but didn't know how to fit that part of my lifestyle back while adjusting to a 'first time mom' lifestyle. I started attending the Stroller Strides classes and more or less got hooked. Many moms are at different levels of working out when they get started and this group has been welcoming no matter what stage. I think that when starting a workout program whether you are just getting back into it or are a complete novice the most important part is the encouragement. It makes more of a difference when you are a woman just trying to navigate a new dynamic and trying to get back to yourself or a better version of yourself. This group and the many different exercise programs they provide (prenatal to postnatal) is more than a fitness program. It is a community. Not only does it encourage a healthier self, it also incorporates a village for our children. My son and now my daughter are learning the importance of exercise. They are socializing with other infants and toddlers prior to going to daycare or school through the playdates set up by the Fit4Mom Village. The village is also a great way for new moms to meet new people with their 'insta playdates'. I have found that it can be hard for new mom's to meet new friends and this takes a lot of the heavy work out of that process and also serves as an additional support system. As you can see, you get more than just a judgement free workout. You learn to ease back into working out after having kids, learn to navigate how to get back to a healthy self, meet and make mom friends, and your kids get instant playmates. What more can you ask for? Come check it out. The first class is free!

For the longest time I had told myself I would start some sort of fitness routine but I had never found anything that I enjoyed enough to stick with. I've tried a few barre classes at other studios before finding The Barre Code, which is truly unlike any other studio I've been to, and has motivated me to actually want to work out. My favorite part about The Barre Code is that the classes are held in studios with dim, blue/pink lighting. It makes me feel more comfortable because 1.) it's dark enough to not feel every physical insecurity being perceived by others, 2.) bright enough to still see and focus on yourself, and 3.) it feels almost like a bar/club with the upbeat music and fun lighting, which puts me in a good mood to feel MOTIVATED to move around and do the workout. I have loved every single instructor I have taken here so far, they've all been extremely welcoming and helpful with correcting my form and offering modifications to make the workouts more or less challenging. Bridget, the owner, is also really sweet and I can tell she is passionate about her studio. I also like the variety of classes they offer (I recently tried Brawl for the first time and that was such a drastic change from the Barre classes I'm used to; I look forward to eventually trying Lift+HIIT and Sculpt+Flow as well)! I know this is a super long review but I just wanted to share my experience and encourage others to try a class out at this studio (if a standard Barre class is intimidating, try Barrestore!). I've been returning for 2 months now and could see improvements in my body's physique and stamina during the workouts. 1000/10 would recommend a million times over

I was given a 90 minute pass for dinner and they seem strict on the time. My friend also gave me a tour. It's an impressive space!! About 450,000 square feet, spanning across 2 full city blocks and 5 levels. They have everything you can think of: pools (4 pools!), saunas, restaurants, tennis, golf, basketball, boxing, group glasses, weights, machines, pickleball, spa, hair and nail salon, indoor running track, co-working space, and so much more. Beautiful artwork, pristine locker rooms and restrooms. Wow! High ceilings and so much space overall. Nothing felt crowded. Beautiful design and layout. I was in awe and very impressed.

(Kari's Rating 7.5/10)…read more TLDR -Up-to-Date equipment -Work from home spaces -Convenient Healthy Market Came with a friend to hang out on a Wednesday around 5:30pm to see what East Bank Club is all about. After seeing all the crazy amenities which were super cool with a ton of variety, I think the thing that surprised me the most is how up-to-date all of the equipment was and the variety of activities they had for people to enjoy. If you're looking for an all encompassing workout/work space, this is it! They have everything from full-size tennis courts, to a golf simulator-like set up,except you get to hit into an inflatable pillow! They also had plenty of Pickleball courts, and they offer so many different workout group classes.both a wet and dry, sauna, and tons of treadmills and free weights. I was also really impressed that they also had a physical training area. So think something that was my personal favorite and the best thing for Chicago Summers is a beautiful rooftop pool and lounge area. Not only did they have two outdoor pools (one for adults and one for kids) but they also have an indoor pool as well for winter as well as an indoor hot tub! They also had a common area workspace where people can come to take meetings and do their work from home gigs. You could practically move in here haha! As of right now, it is a $750 new membership fee as well as $295 a month, which is a pretty hefty chunk of change if you ask me considering most of the high rises around, have some kind of rooftop pool and workout area. It is cheaper if you join with a domestic partner or if you're between the ages of 16 and 29-see pic for current pricing. They also sometimes host social events which is super fun to meet everyone else in the club, but at the same time I think it is more of an investment in your future and your future health if you can afford it! I will not be joining at the moment, but hey-that could change anytime if I decide I should be on a health kick.
