As the COVID lockdown began, we ran our 13 year old's old bike to them with the intention of trading in/trading up. As we couldn't go in, the nice man helping us through the door sized my son up, asked a few questions regarding his riding habits, likes, dislikes. Within 15 minutes we were on our way home with the PERFECT new (gently used and tuned up) bike for an amazing deal. Go here for all your cycling needs.

I said what I said…read more There is nothing quite like a locally-owned bike shop full of incredible human beings who are truly passionate about what they do, and who have taken the time to build an entire community around that. * CHEF'S KISS * I so appreciate all of the effort that this shop POURS into the local community: hosting events with the All Bodies on Bikes organization, hosting cycling clinics and events for the local Venture Out women's group, hosting drawings to give away bikes to local children, being a sponsor of the local velodrome, running support for the local mountain bike events/races, running support for the local cyclocross races, hosting regular weekly shop rides, etc, etc. I love that they've brought a local artist in to do regular chalk murals on the wall in the front of the shop - how cool is that??? All of the brands that CFC carries, are all top-notch, quality brands. I appreciate that they believe in everything that they carry - you know you're getting something good and not junk just to sell junk. I did a bike fit with Larry several months ago, and I am overdue for a maintenance fit as I prep for a big race in the next few months. Larry is incredible to work with. Not only is he an amazing human being to begin with, he is full of knowledge and an excellent teacher who wants your participation and understanding in the bike fit that you're getting. I felt very comfortable asking all of the "stupid" questions, and working with him to figure out exactly what I needed to get a good fit. Whether you're new to riding, or just haven't ever taken the time to get a professional bike fitting, I would 100% recommend scheduling a fit with Larry to make sure that you are comfortable and getting the most out of your bike. If you're in the market for a new bike, looking for bike maintenance, looking for ideas for modification or inspiration, looking for bike accessories, or just looking for local trail recommendations, this place is absolutely a must visit. So much so that I was scared to tell them I no longer wanted the wheels that they convinced me to buy before a big move. Go to other local bike stores owned by Michigan natives who care about the community. This shop will play into old cycling politics and will protect their own business over their customer's best interest. I wish them the best of luck surviving as an independent bike shop in Michigan. It's a really tough market and they honestly had no idea what they were getting into

First the good, and the reason for the one star (not that I could give less anyway)... the sales…read morestaff was very friendly. Kudos for that. Now for the bad, and let me preface this by mentioning that I spent a good portion of my adulthood racing and working in various bike shops. And I was the service manager in one, so I have a LOT of bike mechanic experience. If I were the service manager of this shop, I'd have fired the person who built my bike. Today I bought a particular TREK MTB at this store, because unfortunately my usual store didn't have one and couldn't get one. First problem: you are NOT supposed to use grease on a carbon seatpost with a carbon frame. It's LITERALLY PRINTED on the back of the seatpost, though it's something any good mechanic should know anyway. Sure enough they assembled it with tons of grease, and within just a 1 mile ride, the post slid down a good inch. So I degreased the post, and put 'carbon paste' on it to keep it from happening again. Second problem (picture attached): they mounted the remote shock lockout outboard of the brake lever, which means there's nowhere for your thumb to go when you wrap your hand around the grip. A simple look at the TREK website shows it's installed wrong. And switching them around after requires removing the grip. Sometimes that can be done without destroying the grip, sometimes it can't. So I've already had to buy new grips to fix their mistake. There were several other minor things that never would have been acceptable at my shop, but this is long enough already. I guess if you're looking for a very basic shop, or if you have your own mechanical skills, they're an acceptable choice. Otherwise, I'd highly suggest you look elsewhere. Oh, also, to make it even more insulting, they try to sell you a $150 tune-up plan, which just means you pay up front to have them continue to provide you with subpar repair service. Disappointed mostly because working in a bike shop was always more than just a blow-off job to me. Sad to see that's not the case here. I won't be back.

Wes, Violet and Margaret are not only extremely friendly they are very helpful and professional. I learned a valuable lesson by taking my e-bike to another shop to get my brakes bled only to discover they broke a delicate connector on my bike making it no longer functional. Wes came to the rescue and fixed it getting me back on the road quickly! If you are interested in purchasing an e-bike don't hesitate to buy here. They are truly the best!!

I have wanted a new bike for a long time…read more Although I looked online and could have likely found a slightly cheaper price or brand, I wanted to have store support when I needed assistance. Dave and the Walled Lake staff have been nice. They have helped me upgrade my base purchase of a Verve 2. Best part of buying a Trek bike is that it comes with a free adjustment and free tune up within one year of purchase. Compared to my previous bike, it is solid, quiet, and lighter due to the aluminum frame. I would purchase a different style bike from here. Look forward to diving deeper into the biking world.

We tested out some hybrid Treks but weren't certain which ones we liked. My husband tried both the hybrids as well as road bikes. Dan was super patient and helpful to us. We went back again today and was helped by Rick. He was attentive and on the ball and helped set us up on several types of bikes today to test out. We tested out the Electra's, then the Townie and finally the electric bikes. The Electra bikes were unbelievably comfortable and far as ride and overall comfort and fit, as well as ease of gear switches, all internal to the bike and done with twist of the handle grip. The Townie was a stiffer and rougher ride. The electric bikes were exhilarating and fun for sure, but pricey. I rode and electric Townie bike that was about $2,600 and my husband tested out an electric bike by Townie that costs $4,600, their higher end model. It was most noticeable during the turbo setting. There is also the Eco, touring and sport modes as well. I preferred and felt the biggest impact during turbo. I am most swayed by the true comfort ride of the electric cruiser 7, by far my favorite of all of the bikes I have tried out so far. Think I found the winner.

I like to get YETI products and other coolers and water bottles since we use them daily. They have a good variety of colors and sizes.
