After failed attempts at a few other coffee shops, I decided to head back to Cymplify, a beautifully spread out and relaxed coffee house that I frequented a few years back. Cymplify delivered yet again! Seating indoors and out, open seven days a week, free wifi, and of course delicious java on hand (although if I'm correct they serve from another local roaster). Employees are courteous and aiming to please. My favorite aspect of the shop is that it truly embodies the old school coffee house vibe with seating just about all over the place. It also has the feeling that you're stepping foot into someone else's house, which usually elevates the customer experience. I had multiple coffees while working from my laptop on the outdoor patio, since the weather was absolutely divine. If I lived in Gainesville, Cymplify would definitely be in my weekly coffee shop rotation! read more

I have visited here three times in the past month. The quality of the drinks are dependent on who makes them. The first time a gentleman made our drinks and they were DELICIOUS and we were very ecstatic to have a new coffee spot. The last two times a woman was working, and she unfortunately made them very poorly. So much so the 1st time she served us we did not finish our drinks but after waiting 20 minutes for the coffee we did not bother to get back in line. Today we went and the drinks were better but she redeemed my points falsely this last visit and did not apply the discount to the bill. Their point system is through cashapp so I did not notice until afterwards. She seems to be incompetent on the register as well, this is very frustrating as our first impression was so positive and they have so many specialty lates we want to try. read more

Excellent selection of both coffee and pastries. Everything I've tried here is delicious - I really love their scones and berry danishes. Their iced coffee is stellar and they also have tons of specialty lattes/syrups. The atmosphere is great for studying or chatting with a friend over coffee. There are multiple "rooms" and an outside porch area with tables and an adorable wooden swing. My only complaint is that the temperature has never been comfortable for me, but I'm from up north and despise the heat and humidity. I came to Gainesville on a business trip and wanted to do work at a coffee shop. That's when I came across CYM. They had a variety of lattes with unique names, but looked amazing. First I tried one of the mint coffees and I tried to make it last but it was too good. I followed up getting an iced zebra which was like chocolate and white latter. That drink was amazing! Not to mention the hospitality from the baristas really brought back home the experience. They have a lot of room for you to sit, work and enjoy your coffee. They also have beer listings in case you want to go beyond the coffee and a small bakery for treats. I enjoyed the whole experience here at CYM and successfully got work done. Next time I'm in town in definitely hitting the place up again. read more

Very cute coffee place in a little white house. I ordered an iced oat milk latte with half vanilla which was one of the best I've ever had. My other friends ordered an iced chai and an iced americano with oat milk which both sounded good. My main complaint is the location since it's right off of the main road, which can be noisy if you're sitting outside. The vibe is lowkey with some UF students studying at the tables and the service was quick. Overall, I will definitely be going back. read more

All you ever need in a coffee shop. It has a very quaint and hipster feel, as if you were just hanging out a friend's house. There's TONS of natural lighting, which has to be my favorite part! A lot of table seating is available both inside and outside, but it can get pretty crowded during exam season. I basically order a different drink every time I go. They have so many different specialty drinks that I just want to try them all! The hot Kokomo is my favorite. Though it's a little out of the way from most student housing, I think it's one of the best places in Gainesville for a coffee date. read more

I love love love this place. It was the only "must visit" spot when I knew I'd be coming back to Gainesville for the weekend. Everyone is friendly, the atmosphere is perfect for studying, and the coffee is to die for. They used to have a sweet kitty that would cuddle with you while you read on the bean bag chairs but she was getting up in age so I'm sure she's passed now. But that's the type of people they are, super caring, and they are really environmentally conscious about all their products. I highly recommend the Kokomo hot or iced. Top shelf coffee and excellent customer service. We had a drip coffee (Viennese), a latte and the Mayan Mocha (chocolate with a hint of cayenne pepper). All were fantastic. This is an amazing little café. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful. The staff was wonderfully welcoming even when they were busy. The first time I came there was only one barista working and she was cranking out orders as if there was a team behind her supporting. She was very helpful and personable. Adding Cym to my local coffee rotation! ORDERING & THE COFFEE: I ordered a large salted caramel mocha iced latte. The workers were friendly and helpful. It took less than 5 mins to order and get my drink (came in around 2 on a Wednesday). Not too sweet or bitter. I'm excited to try other flavors. SEATING & TRAFFIC: The inside has maybe 6-7 spots for ppl to study or just sit and drink. Very pretty hardwood floors. There's also a porch and a deck in the yard with additional seating. I'd say 20 ppl total could sit and stay here comfortably at a time. When I came (midweek) there were ~15 ppl in different spots studying and sipping, so I'd guess it gets crowded on the weekends. LOCATION: Getting into the actual parking lot is a little confusing as a first-timer. I'd recommend using google maps. There also isn't a clear sign from the parking lot to tell you which building to go to, as it's in a strip mall type setup. PRICE: I paid $6.07 before tip for a large iced latte. read more

The line was long but not to long and luckily no one ahead of us was to complicated or had a large order. The customer service was ok...it didn't suck but wasn't over the top and why did the lady in front of me get a cool heart design in her foam and I didn't? Ugh! Seriously I got a red velvet cupcake latte and they delivered on the flavor. It was spot on. I come here quite often to study and I have never been disappointed with a single coffee. They have nearly every flavor syrup and the coolest latte concoctions that they recommend. The WiFi is usually not a problem, although it can be spotty on weekends when they are totally full of students studying. I love sitting at the big table in the side room, it's quiet enough on a weekday and has a loving, home-y feel. I used to love this place and brought a friend here today and the guy (his name started with a J) working made the coffee and it was very weak so we asked him to make something different, not blaming him, just saying maybe bec it was cafe au lait instead of latte. He charged me for extra shots of espresso vs remaking it. Well it was so strong it was undrinkable. We told him nice and he was pretty rude and said, "I've never had someone tell me to remake their coffee." I want to start off by saying that I am a cheap bastard. And that CYM's coffee (or the ones that I typically order) cost about $5. Their coffee is so delicious though that I feel completely validated in paying that $5.26 for an iced latte. Their list of latte's (and I do want to preface that I am an iced coffee girl hardcore) are absolutely marvelous. A flavor person's dream - Peanut Butter & Jelly, Smores, White Chocolate, other delicious sounding flavors that I cannot remember - but let's just say they have a wide variety of good stuff. My personal favorites are the cortado and their pour-overs. LOCATION (3/5): If you are a college student near the university, this coffee shop is a bit of a drive (worth it). If you are driving through Florida and are looking for a place to get caffeinated, CYM is close to the interstate and worth the stop! SEATING (4/5): Cymplify has a large amount of seating inside and outside the shop. If you come during heavy traffic hours (after 5 pm, Saturday morning/evening, etc.) you might have difficulty finding a place to sit. This coffee shop really is one of the best in Gainesville. What distinguishes this café to me is how much it feels like a home when you walk in. There are 3 separate rooms available for sitting on couches, at tables, or at a bar-type counter. There's also plenty of outdoor seating. Every time I come, I'm amazingly pleased with whatever coffee I order. At my most recent visit I got a hot mocha mint latte which I would definitely recommend. The mint flavor blended so well with the coffee and the mocha made the latte just the right amount of sweet. Here's why I'm not giving this review 5 stars: the coffee shop is always loud inside. If you're the type of person that doesn't like studying with background noise, then bring headphones. There were two people working behind the bar, one of which was a super helpful guy who not only was incredibly friendly but gave recommendations, a cold brew sample, and genuinely wanted us to have a drink we enjoyed. My companion ordered an iced maple latte which I sampled and found to be delicious. I ordered a hot snickers latte on the less sweet side with whole milk and it was smooth and delicious with a strong chocolate flavor. Their pastries looked good but we had already eaten. The shop is basically just a renovated cozy small house with a good amount of space.
