As much as I disparage Starbucks for having bad coffee, they are at least open super early in the morning when I am awake. So there really isn't much I can do since the #LocalCoffee spots aren't ready for me at 5:30 or even 6:30 am. This one was open when I parked and rolled in before dawn at 6:20. Not much going on, it was actually rather quiet inside as I spent nearly two hours charging electronics and sipping at a not terrible blonde roast. My everything bagel needed another run through the toaster and I do miss when they used to have flavored cream cheese. I stayed until people started arriving and moving chairs. Was not asked if I wanted whip cream and my Frappuccino had whip cream at the bottom and abundant on the top. I explained I could not tolerate whip cream. I did not expect to receive the drink like that. The barista made a face and mimicked my comment under her breath, not nicely. When I received my replacement it appeared to have been mixed together with the whip cream rather than remade. I didn't realize this until I had driven off and tasted it. A wasted $6.72. Reviewing the location and service since full-service Starbucks are, well, you know what to expect. The cold and rainy day when we visited also happened to be a Florida regional high school cross country meet for girls and boys. So, in part, it accounts for the busyness on that day. We stopped in after the meet and found the drive-through extending out of the one main entrance on W Newberry Rd, headed east. Opting to go in the mall entrance, the small parking lot was inaccessible due to the drive through line. So we parked a short distance away in front of the movie theater. The staff working that days was great - they were greeting everyone with kindness and genuine helpfulness and working hard to fulfill the backlog of orders. My hot mocha latte hot the spot in the cold weather and I know I'd stop in again if ever in the area and needing a coffee just a few blocks off of I-75. read more

I hate that I can't come to this Starbucks anymore because it is the closest to my house. Anytime you ask for a drink made the way you want it and have gotten it made at other Starbucks with no complaints they will give you attitude. Your drink will end up tasting like crap and you will have to drive to another Starbucks to get it made correctly. Don't waste your time just go to another Starbucks in the first place. read more

Not a fan of this Starbucks location in Gainesville. Had to stop here on my way out of state. Very slow service and they did not make the drinks correct. Waited in drive thru line for a while. I ordered a PSL and it was definitely not a PSL. good thing it was only a tall. I had also ordered 2 other drinks and one drink they misunderstood and gave me a vanilla cream frapp instead of an vanilla iced coffee. This is a great Starbucks if you are coming from UF or just passing by I-75 and need caffeine fix. The barista's here make excellent drinks. Just be warned, the traffic at this location is insane during their busy hours and your wait might be 25+ minutes. The drive thru can be completely full and there may not be anyway to park, so people park behind cars in the parking lot, blocking drivers in. I'd recommend parking in the rear to prevent being blocked in. Overall, this is a great location. This is the Starbucks that is on my route to work, so I stop here the most. This is the only reason I come here. I use the mobile app to order because this location is so busy. About 40% of the time my order is wrong, cold, or half of it isn't there. The baristas have to deal with mobile orders, drive-thru, and walk-ins, but the failure rate here is too high for me to give this place 3 stars. It honestly deserves 2.5. I called and " supervisor " name Dustin answered and I asked him to speak to manager he then replied with" there's no manager here so this is the best you're going to get " . I did not appreciate his tonality as in this industry you would expect to be treated more hospitable and sympathetic . He continued to be very combative , disgusting and condescending . I asked him to place me on hold because I didn't feel comfortable speaking with him and he said the baristas were busy. He continued to speak over me and hung up on me . He is very disrespectful and unprofessional. I called back and he answered with the same nonchalant , dismissive attitude and he gave the phone to another shift supervisor name Lucas who was kind . Fast, friendly and accurate service. The store is neat and organized. Not very much seating but there is both indoor and outdoor seating areas. The parking lot is tight to navigate into and out of. There are approximately 8 parking spots and it's not very wide so pulling in and out can be tricky. The drive Through entry is right off of a 3 lane road and backs up Into the road at time in addition to intersecting with the parking lot. This has been my lunch/break spot for 2 some weeks now. I haven't had any issues at all with the service or food. All of the baristas are very kind and professional. They were also very timely in making orders. I haven't had a bad cup of coffee yet. They are also well stocked in food. One of my peeves is how low the tables are. I find myself hunched...and it's not very comfortable. :( I can only speak for the women's bathroom since I'm a girl, lol. It's clean. I wish they had the seat liners available. It has been empty every time I have used it. Thank goodness there is toilet paper. Also the soap dispenser is usually low or empty when I stop by. I know paper towels isn't earth friendly...but I wish they had the option still because the Dyson air dryer gets water everywhere in there. The sink could use some TLC (it's kind of grimy). We waited on line in the drive through for 10 minutes, to try to get coffee for a 6 hr drive and when we got to the window, the girl said "Oh, are their more people on the line??... We're closed. We put a garbage can blocking the entrance because we're closed." When we asked what time they closed, they said 5 o'clock. Located right next to Oaks Mall, I expected this Starbucks to be a lot busier than it was. I dropped by for their happy hour/buy one get one free espresso beverages, and the drive-thru was empty. As soon as I pulled in, the worker asked for my order, and was very patient when it took me a while to find two beverages. I ended up ordering their new iced vanilla bean coconut milk latte to try; the worker warned me that the drink may appear as a latte or macchiato and asked for my preference. Since it was a new drink, I was thankful that she explained the beverage to make ensure that I would enjoy the drink! Although I didn't get a chance to see the inside of the store, the drive-thru service was good enough to convince me to return here. Somewhat recently updated and remodeled with a Clover machine and revamped seating. Excellent location if you are heading up or down I-75 or eating dinner in Gainesville. Consistent service and for some reason the drinks seem better here than the Archer location. Outdoor seating and a convenient drive they round off the Starbucks offerings at this location. I've been coming to this starbucks location for a while. And while I've never had any issues with the staff, I cannot recommend this Starbucks simply because of the drive thru. It's always a very aggravating experience. The line wraps around the building, which blocks the people trying to exit the drive thru. Which means the line can't move and everyone gets stuck. Nobody inside seems to really care. If you're waiting patiently in line someone can come in through the other entry of the parking lot and simply cut you in line no problem. It's infuriating. They closed this location down to remodel and I haven't been since. Today I tried again. Little did I know they literally MOVED the order window. So I get up to where it usually is and it's GONE. Look behind me and yep. They moved it. It's hidden away on the side. The person in front of me and behind me all did the same thing. So I just left. I'm sick of this location being so difficult. It used to be great. Then they got a new manager. Her voice is grating, she's passive-aggressive, and you can tell by looking at her employees' faces, makes people feel incredibly uncomfortable. I ordered an Americano breve with soy milk. I got it, and it was lukewarm if that. I kindly told one of the employees my problem. The manager overheard--apparently she made it, and her pride was on the line!--and said to me, rather disrespectfully, "Oh, well you never said steamed milk." A drive-thru! I called my brother when I saw it. This location is a good, standard Starbucks with convenient drive-thru action. Great for grabbing a frappa-whatever on your way into the mall. I don't go inside much... nor does anyone else, from the looks of it. If you're looking for a Starbucks to sit and talk with someone in, this one works well enough.
