We chose to come to Plaisance, one, to taste some good wine but also to grab some beef on our way to my grandpas house. He lives less than 15 min away and we have to pass the ranch to get to his house. I'm terrible with names but the person who was working was great. She was so welcoming and gracious. She even gave us a bit of a mini tour, which I thought was really sweet. The grounds are gorgeous. I kept saying "bucolic" over and over while I was there. You can sip on a flight while staring out at green pastures and grazing cows (and maybe even a sleepy puppy). We were able to get some steaks. They were ok. The wine is fantastic and I love they put into each bottle. I'd love to come back one day and try more wine varieties and get to meet the owner. My grandpa said that they went to high school together!

All the meat is organic and processed at Taylor's Sausage Co. in Cave Junction. I buy from the booth at the local growers' market, but Full Circle Bison Ranch also sells on line.

My husband and I detoured an hour from our hotel after visiting Oregon Caves National Monument (part of that detour included waiting for an ambulance to pick up a guy we thought was dead in a ditch on a mangled bicycle on the drive over but I digress.) I'm frazzled after being on the phone with 911, we have been hiking and we're tired and hungry. Very excited to see the Korean menu advertised on their outdoor sign. Place is just a tiny shack of a place. We go in and someone is handing out "my governor is an idiot" stickers and we wait our turn to order. I only saw a white board menu of hamburgers and drinks. I said, "hi, I read online that you have a Korean menu." The woman behind the counter said, "oh yeah but it's only on Thursdays and Fridays, every other week." I said that I wish that I had known that and she said to always call and ask. What would I call and ask? Why would I assume their menu is only served on certain days and every other week? By not maintaining their Yelp or Google Maps page and not having a website with this pertinent information, they're wasting people's time and gas. We drove an hour each way for nothing. October 2024

I wandered the accessible path & circled the pond for a self-guided tour. Thought it was a peaceful place to spend a couple hours.
