There really does need to be a danger sign on the door. They have everything for the kitchen. Lots of beautiful things that would make perfect additions to any kitchen. I can be in and out of a fussy kitchen store with high prices but this place is for a real cook, baker or, like me, dabbler. The prices are fair to very good. I've seen most things better priced than online and you can see and feel what you're buying. If you're in the area, I highly recommend coming by. If your close, If you love kitchen things...I'd make a pilgrimage to this shop. It is that good!! read more

What a huge beautiful supply of kitchen everything!!! If I was in need of anything, I would've definitely found it here but I was just craving chocolate, so thought I would stop in and see if they sold any at the counter and yes fortunately they did and it was wonderful! What was most impressive to me was the elderly woman that waited on me and how kind and sweet she was and accommodating when I asked which were the best chocolates and she pointed them out and was 100% right... yummmmmy right down to where the best place in town to eat at was, and what was best to order on the menu, which we did within the next hour and were so happily gratefully surprised and thrilled with our dinner 100%. According to my Facebook memories we have been shopping here for almost 10 years. I had no idea. I guess that would be obvious that i do love this place and everything about it especially the owners and people who work there. Always very knowledgeable and helpful. This store is a specialty store that sells mostly higher end kitchen items so really not a place to hunt for bargains The plus side is that the items they sell are also quality so they will last. They do also have a lot of cute gadgets that are reasonable priced, the kind of stuff you say and say "i did not know i needed that". Fun shop and a highlight of downtown Grants Pass. read more

I honestly didn't know what kitchen stuff I was even missing until I visited this store. They have it all. Everything from the single-purpose vegetable cleaning utensil to knife collections and air fryers, you're gonna find it here. I don't even cook a whole lot, but I still find this store a fun visit when in Grants Pass. There are definitely some hard-to-find unique items as well. They carry a hot sauce by the Palo Alto Firefighters that I have never seen carried outside of Palo Alto, and is just my go-to for breakfast eggs. How they manage to stock this item, I'll never know, but it's a good one! It's hard to believe that I enjoy a Kitchen store this much, and even harder to believe that I'm writing an online review of it. I must need a new hobby. Damn you, COVID! read more

This is a great kitchen supply store, loaded from pretty much floor to ceiling with lots of one of a kind and expensive gadgets that any chef or home cook would like. A Top of the line cutlery selection that makes you want to add a few new pieces. They carry lines of Fire & Light glass, as well as Bauer pottery both great made in the USA companies, and I saw several others with USA labeling. I also saw Le Creuset, Staub en France, Cuisinart, and a lot of other top end brands throughout the store. Prices were competitive with online retailers or better. The replacement piece I was looking for was about 25% less than online. The staff are very friendly and easily available to help, answer questions or just make conversation with. It is easy to spend an hour in this store if you are a cook of any kind, our recent visit was about two hours and we could have stayed longer. It was busy with customers and moved at a pretty good pace even at check out. We plan to visit again the next time in town. This store is amazing! If you can't find it here, you're either not looking hard enough or it doesn't exist. I always come in here when I'm in town and I go for "just" one thing--this time, just a pastry scraper. But... There are so many neat stuff here to help you live your best kitchen life. Today's haul was a new crock for my sourdough starter plus a silicone suction lid, Shun paring knife as a gift, silicone spatulas, funky striped wooden spatula, hilariously long bar spoon, and a hilariously imposing muddler made of purple heart wood. Oh yeah, and that dough scraper. The people here are very helpful and friendly, which is only bad because it allows me to buy more things. Go on, feel free to settle in with that new Food52 cookbook or a classic Julia Child, in their comfy cookbook reading nook. Or dream of all the things you'd bake if you had the time or patience in their baker's corner. My happy place indeed. read more

This store is amazing, and had such a great selection. I was so excited to shop here. That's the only reason why I've given it two stars. Unfortunately the customer service was so beyond terrible I had to take away 3 stars. I was in the store for over 30 minutes looking for a few specific items. I'm a chef and love a few of the brands that this store carries. There were 4 people working in the store and not a single person greeted me or asked if I need help finding something. One gentlemen was helping another guest and almost ran into me several times until I finally said excuse me so he didn't knock me over. The people working here were older, dusty, stuffy and to be honest I purposely did not purchase the items I wanted just out of spite because I didn't want to give this store business. You lost out on making of hundreds of dollars and repeat business. Would not return, and despite my love for supporting local- small businesses my suggestion to other customers would be that you're better off purchasing from Amazon and getting a better price. Suggestion to the owners/management hire some younger and friendlier staff that don't mind smiling and going the extra mile to say hello and actually provide customer service because standing around and doing nothing isn't helping. read more

The best kitchen store I have wandered into yet! I knew that it was a top-of-the-line store by the simple fact that they carry not only the BRAND of chef knives I use, but the ACTUAL knives that I have in my drawer at home. You see, knives don't go out of style like clothing or other trivial items. Vera Wang won't send out the same dress season after season, no matter how popular it is. Knives are different because they last a lifetime. They don't go out of style--EVER. Since this is the best kitchen store I have found in Southern Oregon so far, I highly suggest that all of your knife purchasing be done here. And by the way, these knives are located on the wall farthest from the door, in the glass cases. They have a beautiful red set that I might just get for Christmas this year if I'm a good girl. read more

I am ghost writing this review for my dad. The experience was his but he's not all that tech saavy. Since I was along for the ride and am handy with the social stuff, I decided to share our positive experience. A thermometer my dad had purchased at the store for Thanksgiving was malfunctioning during the big turkey roast. An hour of tinkering (and semi swearing) had him pretty frustrated. He called The Kitchen Company phone line just in case someone was there. THEY ANSWERED!! Turned out they had taken a break from their own festivities to buzz around the shop for a few and thought they should answer the phone in case anything important came up. Anyway, they invited us to come in and receive a replacement. The exact model was not available at the moment so they gave another as a "loner." They were both friendly and eager to help make our meal a special one. I haven't checked back with my dad concerning the eventual replacement of the original thermometer. But I trust the experience was the same as our first. A big thank you to The Kitchen Store for your excellent service. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving together, in large part to your help! read more

As the rating says, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" Lovely, lovely store, lovely, lovely stuff. Lovely staff, so helpful, and knowledgeable. We are serious foodies and people who probably own far more tools in the garage, the sewing and crafts room, and, of course, the kitchen, than is sane. This place is a cooks dream, though they do have a dedicated area to bakeware as well. It's dangerous over here cause they have items you never think you needed, until you see them here. Now I want so much more than I originally wanted! Also, this place has top notch products, so you get what you pay for. Brands such as Staub, All Clad, Oxo, Scanpan, Lodge, Le Creuset can be found here, along with a plethora of others. Some things are cheaper than other places but I have found some things that were marked up too. It all depends on the product, but depending where you're from (like me in California) you're more likely to pay less or equal value here for something since it's tax free. The store was kind of busy when I went, and I was unable to have some of my questions answered because an employee was always busy with someone, but luckily I'll be back when I visit family here again so I have plenty of opportunities. read more

The staff is helpful and fun, the displays are colorful and changed frequently. Cookbooks, gadgets, bakeware, cookware, bbq items, spices, small appliances, linens and the best knife display anywhere. The town of Grants Pass continues to amaze me with its unique stores not found elsewhere in the region, like the Music Shop and The Kitchen Company. The latter has the largest selection of kitchen items outside of the Bed and Bath chain store in Medford; but the independent store has a more focused collection for cooks. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating; the employees know their products. I had to exchange a coffee maker beaker that I purchased at the store because the manufacturer's website gave the wrong size. The store's staff cheerfully made the exchange. I was also looking for sink mats, an item too plebeian apparently for other kitchen stores to carry--The Kitchen Company had the mats. (Vile smelling vinyl like all the other sick mats that I have seen.) read more

I live in Canyonville, OR and have shopped at the Kitchen Company in Grants Pass for the last two years when I needed higher end kitchen supplies. I do this because I like to support small local businesses (I own one myself in Canyonville) and because the big box stores tend not to have the equipment I need! My most recent experience was horrible though and I do not plan on ever going back at all. I came in looking for a high end mandoline slicer, and was recommended a $200 french model by the employee there. She swore it was amazing, she'd seen it used, and it works great. I didn't have the cash on me that day so my boyfriend came back and purchased it for me a few days later when he was in town. He was not informed of any return policies at the time of purchase. I attempted to use the mandoline slicer several times, getting more and more frustrated each time, and eventually ended up slicing my hand open because the protective pusher just fell off the slicer mid attempt to dice a carrot. I had finally given up. So I called to inform the company that I needed to return it. I was informed I needed a receipt to return the product that I had purchased a few days previous. I asked to speak with a manager, because my boyfriend didn't know what had happened to his receipt. I was informed I could have a store credit, and was told by the manager "I'm sure there are plenty of other things in the store you might like". Personally, I do not think it is good customer service to refuse a return of an expensive product such as this, especially when the product doesn't work as advertised, and not only that, but it was specifically recommended by the employee, which is the only reason I purchased it. After much debating the manager agreed to return it for cash, in order to not lose me as a customer. Today, my boyfriend went in to return the slicer. When he walked in they got the manager from upstairs, and the first thing she said to him was that "Your woman was very yelling at me and very rude to me over the phone about this". She was quizzing him as to what business we owned, where it was and what the name was. She was incredibly rude and when my boyfriend pointed out that if they had a point of sale system, needing the receipt wouldn't be as necessary because the system keeps itemized receipts in order on purchase days, the receipt could have been looked up and all of this could have been avoided! At the end of the day, we received our cash back, but my boyfriend was kicked out of the store by the manager and the employees, he was told never to come back, and when the manager found out I was his girlfriend, not his wife, she said "Oh, well good luck with that then". All in all, terrible customer service, we hadn't planned on going back either way after this experience. When you have a monopoly on the market for the better part of 30 miles each way, I guess you can treat your customers like crap and get away it. read more

Probably the nicest retail venture in G Pizzle, OR I was quite surprised to learn that this was an "independent" store and not part of a chain. High end, anything you could want or need for your kitchen. Pots, pans, utensils, cookbooks, gadgets ... everything but the kitchen sink!! Well maybe a few more items in the artisan sauce and food section, but as for kitchen wares... unbelievable. BUT wanna know what's even MORE unbelievable? Every item I looked at, some of which I'd never seen before, were the same price as Amazon. I LOVED being able to buy items from a small store and not have to feel like I lost out because I overpaid. I even saw amazing prices on there vitamixs. I've NEVER seen Vitamixs sold for under MSRP (except a special version at costco). This is the best thing going in the kitchen world in the Rogue Valley. Their selection is great, quality of merchandise is high, and there is so much I want in there but don't need. And, probably need but don't want, but that's another story. What a wonderful kitchen store! I easily spent an hour in here browsing around at all the neat stuff they have! I love their selection of unique kitchen gadgets, table linens and baking accessories! They have everything organized so perfectly and it makes for easy browsing. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable! I purchased beautiful quilted reversible placemats, a lemon zester, (which is what I came in the store for...) and a powdered sugar container with duster (I thought this was a unique find!) I will definitely make it a tradition to go to this store every time I'm in Grants Pass! In the meantime, their website now has a home in my favorites! :) read more

In their new location, this is what a kitchen store should be. One of the best in the entire Northwest (and yes that includes Seattle ones). Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have just about every kitchen gadget you can imagine. And they have some really nice $$$ cookware. This is as much fun to take visitors to as the Hellgate Jetboats! This place and the folks who run it were simply beyond outstanding. They normally opened at 11 on a Sunday, but because there was a street fair for antiquing, they threw open their doors around 9:30. They totally welcomed our dog (70 lb mutt but very well behaved and mellow), which of course got us in a shopping. I used to work in a really good kitchen store in Portland, so I know my way around a kitchen store. This place Has. It. ALL. I was speechless, and I am almost never speechless (just ask my husband). We picked up a few things we needed, a couple things we didn't, and just really enjoyed chatting with the super friendly staff--all of whom called our dog by name the entire half-hour we were there. Every time I go into this stoer, I find what I'm looking for! The staff is extremely knowledgeable. Good thing, since I am NOT a cook and much of the stuff in there is a mystery to me! But when I'm trying to buy something for a new recipe or process, they never fail me. I love the new location. We are lucky to have this great store in downtown Grants Pass! They recently moved across the street & down one block from the old location so the bigger store has even MORE great stuff & is also less crowded :) You'll find quality items, hard to find kitchen tools, specialty tools & even a few tasty food items. The staff is helpful & friendly and I've been pleased with every purchase I've made there (including an awesome micro plane tool, unique cookie cutters, gourmet sauces, sushi tray...) The prices are a bit higher than you might pay at a big box but the Kitchen Company is still competitive and well worth supporting. They also do a wedding registry - a great idea! read more
