Despite asking for the most basic basic manicure, I was surprised when I got my bill. 62 dollars??! I didn't ask for a shellac yet Lilly added it to a 40 dollar bill "plus service fee". I went for brow lamination and eyelash consultation with Lilly. I had never had either done prior. She put on temporary lashes using a hair glue. It took her about 15 minutes to do it. I commented that the lashes affected my peripheral vision and she said, "You'll get used to it." They glue felt heavy on my eyelids and slightly scratched my cornea. I go see Pam pretty faithfully every 2 to 2 1/2 weeks for a dip. I think she does really good work. The other nail techs are always booked when I'm there so it seems like other customers are satisfied with them also. I have only lived in Detroit for a few months and the first time I went to this nail shop Pam did my nails and I told her that it was an audition. I don't think she was prepared for my spicy attitude but I think that we warmed up to each other and I've been going back ever since. read more

I went here on a whim, based on Facebook recommendations. I made an appointment for the next day for deluxe pedicure, dip change, eye and lip wax. I arrived and when he started soaking my nails, he wasn't aware I was getting a pedicure, so there was some confusion. Everything felt kind of rushed. Asked for almond-shaped nails but got oval. The dip was so chunky and more transparent than the sample (5020). When he was filing and buffing, he tore five nails' cuticles. The pedicure was rushed and really nothing was deluxe about it. I'm not a prude but the music that was playing was not business appropriate. Lilly, who did my wax, was very good and accurate. I won't be returning here. Also expensive for what you get and I know I should've said something but I was on a time crunch. Also for the pricing though, one would and should assume a very quality job. Lastly, as they grew out, they were not fully on my mail and my hair would catch underneath when I ran my fingers thru. That's always a sign of a poor job. read more

I dislike writing negative reviews, as I like to support local businesses that are in the neighborhood. That being said, I called this last Thursday to make an appt for anytime on Saturday. I was told they do not accept appointments on Saturday. I was also told to come in right at 10AM, & I could be accommodated with no wait, as this was why I was requesting an appointment. When I came right at 10AM, I was immediately asked if I had an appointment!!! & then was told I needed to wait. This would be my first time at this place getting a pedicure. The place was clean they use plastic Liners in their foot bath, and the chairs may look a little older but they are excellent massage chairs. My friend and I went and decided to get the deluxe or an extra $10 and it was so worth it. The leg massage and the mud pack was awesome. They did a great job on my nails I'm a big guy with big feet and the young lady that did me had no problems at all and my nails look great. I would recommend anyone to go in and give this place to try for an inexpensive walk-in pedicure, the regular pedicure is only $25 and with the deluxe package which includes hot stone massage mud pack cooling gel and extra massage for only $10 more. Let me be the first to say I was very skeptical going to get any type of services during COVID but after months going without, decided to take the leap of faith. My sister recommended this place and told me it was appointment only. 1. Appointment only- That's the first plus. 2. Limited # in salon- They only allow 3 people in for a pedicure and 3 in for a manicure max and 1 person to sit in the waiting area. They have 7 stations for each service so that allows every other seat to be filled and an ample amount of spacing out. 3. Disinfection/Sanitization Available- They have disinfecting products and sanitizer readily available throughout the salon. It felt very clean and safe. 4. Abundance of partitions- They put up plastic partitions at ever chair, which further made me feel safe during my experience. 5. Use disposable items- All the utensils they used are discarded after use. They put plastic bags in the pedicure bowls and discard those as well. 6. Increase in cost- Because of the above, there's an increase in cost to recoup expenses. Which I'm more than happy to pay for my protection. 7. AMAZING pedicure- Ben was my nail tech and he did an AMAZING job and I just had to tip him accordingly! He was very thorough and took his time. I much appreciated that. 8. THE CHAIRS ARE EVERYTHING!!!! They massage your whole body (like grabs your thighs and everything). It felt amazing! I received a nail shellac job and eyebrow waxing on a Saturday. Several nails peeled almost completely off within 24 hours of my visit. I returned to the salon on Sunday. The hours on the door state that they're open 12-5 on Sundays. However, I left and returned again 45 mins later to find the salon still closed. I left them a note stating that I couldn't go to work (professional attire/office) the next day with my nails in that condition, basically pleading with them to call me as soon as possible to repair the problem. I could've actually been reprimanded for inappropriate appearance. The salon never called. Which means they don't care. My brow wax was painless. The weird fingertip massage afterward was awkward and painful. It felt like she was trying to make a hole in my skull with her thumbs. I had a minor red blotch on my forehead for the rest of the evening. If you're looking for integrity, great service or longevity, this ain't the salon for you. read more

I stopped back in today after not going there for a few years... I'm going on vacation and needed a mani/pedi. The technician was friendly but didn't seem interested in actually doing my nails. Multiple times I was confused if she was talking to me or on her phone with ear buds. Honestly, that's not the thing that bothered me most. I paid $105 for a gel mani/pedi and only two coats of polish... the corners of my nails are unpolished and you can see through the color to my nail easily. My $25 pedicure was great. The shop offers a wide selection of OPI nail polish colors. A gentleman named Lee worked magic on my tired soles. This was my third and last time getting a mani/pedi from D&B nails. The lady actually did a nice job, and smiled a lot. During my pedicure one of the men with terrible English asked if I wanted a spa pedicure or regular. I said regular, the sign posted was for $32 mani/pedi in the window. He said ok. Pedicure continued which was very regular and then proceeded to my manicure, again very regular. When it came time to pay, he changes me $35. I say no, the sign states $32. He says because I received sea salt massage extra $3, then charged my card $35. I know it's only $3, however as I sat letting my nails dry this same incident happen to three other people as the paid. Total scammers. Mani/pedi was nothing special and to be sneaky and charge more for what is usually included is not good business. I won't be back. read more
