This experience had to be one of the most embarrassing and unprofessional things I have ever…read moreencountered. My son had gone to camp over the summer and loved it. We decided to throw his birthday there today, and boy was it not what we expected. When we first get there we are greeted with the lead for our event. He was thorough in his explanation of the details but only gave us 10 minutes to set up, and really didn't care whether we got done or not, just as long as he got his list out of things that he needed to say out. During the party he told us that he would get the kids at the table to eat with 30 minutes to spare. After they were all forced to clean up and wash their hands, that left 20 minutes to eat and do cake. With 15 minutes left, he then announces to the entire group (us, the kids, and our guests) that we had to be out of the space and cleaned up in 15 minutes. He then proceeded to announce that loudly every five minutes. We tried to get the kids to eat quickly and do cake, but everyone knows that it takes a while to get them to finish eating. With 5 minutes left he proceeds to walk into the middle of the eating area and tell us we have to be out in 5 minutes while he actively took down our table set ups. At this point us and the guests were beyond uncomfortable and started awkwardly rushing to throw anything we could into the boxes we brought. Every guest was helping and trying to get out. With 3 minutes left he did the most unprofessional thing thus far. Our autistic daughter was the only one left at the cleared table, eating the last few bites of her cake. He made her get up and told her she had to be done and then PULLED THE TABLECLOTH OFF OF THE TABLE! I was so upset and blown away at how rude he was being, especially to the kids. He then walked over to the second table and proceeded to pull the cloth off while three boys were finishing their cake. I finally had enough and told him I would clear it (mind you, our time wasn't up). Then he looked at the boys when I was still cleaning up and sternly said "you guys have to put on your shoes now!" And for his final act, he proceeded to fold the chairs and turned on the vacuum while the guests were putting on their shoes in the front area! We couldn't even say goodbye to anyone because of how loud it was. Everyone at the party was in shock at how harsh he was being. He ABSOLUTELY ruined the party and we were mortified in front of our guests. I got in the car and started crying. Before anyone thinks, well there must have been another party....There wasn't. By the time I drove away after crying, it had been 10 minutes and the place was empty besides the employees. They just wanted us out at exactly the time and didn't care about giving us even an extra minute to clean up. By the way, we would have been happy to pay for extra time to clean up. We have three kids and have thrown many parties. This, by far, was the WORST experience we have ever had. I even texted my guests after to apologize for the situation. The sad part is we were thinking of putting our son in regular classes, and definitely returning for summer camp. That will never happen now. They lost us as customers and all of our guests that had sons interested in classes as well. I highly do not recommend throwing your kids party there EVER!

I've never failed to escape before, but this one got us! We were literally one or two steps away when the clock ran out. It was frustrating, but at the same time, incredibly entertaining. I have to admit, I felt like I let my son down because he was really hoping we'd beat it. When you're paying for an escape room, it definitely stings a little when you don't make it out. But honestly, that's part of what makes it such a great experience it leaves you wanting another shot. Pro tip: Bring four or five people if you can. There are so many clues, puzzles, and different things happening at once that having extra sets of eyes makes a huge difference. It's easy to lose time chasing the wrong clue or overlooking something that's right in front of you. Escapology in Clackamas/Happy Valley is top-notch. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and full of creative, immersive rooms with different themes and adventures. The puzzles are clever, the atmosphere pulls you in, and the whole experience keeps you engaged from start to finish. Yes, it's a little on the pricey side, but you only live once. It's a fantastic activity for families, friends, date nights, birthdays, or team-building. Even if you don't escape, you'll leave talking about the experience and laughing over everything you missed. We'll definitely be back for a rematch. Highly recommended!

The decor is great and sets a fun vibe. The party room is good sized and has lots of decorations already there which is super helpful. They're the "mecca" for Magic: the Gathering tournaments, singles and card supplies; Warhammer and Games Workshop products; Warmachine/Hordes and Privateer Press products; Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Dice and RPG supplies; Adventure and Family Boardgames, gaming tables, terrain tables with lots of terrain pieces available for your use, and in-store gaming events. In fact we walked in during a Sunday afternoon card tournament and were greeted warmly by Ron, who knows my son very well. My son's sister and her husband (D&D fans) also hang out here, which was also evidenced by a few crochet pieces that she had donated to the shop. My daughter and her first guest got started, but while a staff sat and gave step by step to the friend, my daughter was given starter instructions and I had to prompt not once or twice but many times for the next steps. The third guest arrived shortly after and a second staff sat with her, again giving step by step instructions while my daughter, the birthday girl, was left hanging. This was quite frustrating, but my kid took it in stride. A third guest arrived when our time was almost up, so while I understand she couldn't complete a whole picture, we were told that she could free paint but they were out of full size paper (which of course, we had paid for! ) . The package was also supposed to include nail art (or glass coloring), which they did not do. We were supposed to have had a reserved party area for 2 hours, but another party was scheduled to overlap ours which was incredibly awkward, so we rushed through cupcakes and snacks, etc. The "deluxe" party favor included 3 dumdum lollipops, a hard candy, a cheap plastic ring and a tiny plastic wand. They did accomodate face paintings for the late guests, which was nice. However, I was disappointed in their uneven distribution of attention, and running out of the supplies we had paid for.
