I bought 2 tires from a national store that did not do alignments, so the store refered me to Helsel's. They do very good work, are popular, and they gave me an appointment for 4 days later. They checked me in, checked the car both visually and by road test. They did the alignment, the follow up road test, and gave me an easy to read, before and after, alignment sheet. The waiting room was comfortable and the staff extremely informative. The cost was $150 less than the dealer! I'm happy to have found a top, general mechanic shop in my new home so quickly!

I went into Beck's with a multitude of Jeep issues. Two of them were shock inspection to 12 YO with…read more132,000 miles and original shocks might need replacing. Second issue was with the brakes. I had to add brake fluid twice within the last 18 months and I thought that meant the brake pads were worn out and low on pad material. They could have told me to replace the shocks and brakes and it would have been very expensive. Thousands were not spent per their recommendation that the shocks were fine and a loose fitting on one brake caliper fixed the low brake fluid. I did have the oil changed, wheel stud replaced, turn signal and side marker fixed. Very pleased with their speedy work and not taking advantage of us. I really want to support local businesses and not go to big box stores. I really appreciate what Beck's Auto does for Barefoot Bay.

This family run business has gone above and beyond to make sure my dad's car is running safely. I went to the shop with my dad to pick up his car. There was absolutely no upsell, and there was significant extra time and work put into his car beyond the scope of work without extra cost. They took the time to show me all the parts they replaced and explained everything thoroughly. When subsequent, unrelated issues came up, these guys saved my dad dealing with tow-trucks and drove out of their way to his home to diagnose the problem on site, and take the car back to their shop. It's difficult being so far away from my dad, and it's a worry not knowing if he's being treated well. The treatment he's getting is 'family' level attention, clearly taking into account his circumstances in a way that goes way beyond standard service. Decency, care and professionalism aren't always easy to come by. I recommend these guys from both a personal and quality of work level. The peace of mind knowing my dad is being taken care of is invaluable.
