Removed dirt, packed gravel, and tied rebar into the foundation. I requested the form raised a little before the pour and they came out that week to fix it and confirmed if it met my standards before the pour. Price was reasonable and people were friendly. Our large project included a patio, concrete footings, two walkways, driveway, new driveway approach, French drain and sidewalk repair. Josh responded quickly to our bid request and we scheduled a time that worked for both of us for him to come by. During the bid process and project discussion, Josh listened to ALL of the details, taking pictures and notes. His bid was competitive with the others, but we chose D & D because we felt really comfortable with how Josh was committed to clear communication- so important in a big job. He also provided some workable solutions to some of our trickier fixes, and handled all the permits. The demo and work crew worked quickly to remove the old concrete and prep for the pour. We always knew which days the crew would be on site. Also, we had to put the pour on hold because of some concurrent plumbing work, and Josh was really flexible and helpful with that, even though it changed his schedule. We had clear communication throughout, including between our plumber and Josh. The concrete work turned out beautifully. All of the different aspects of the project turned out just as we requested- or better. We chose the 'exposed aggregate' finish, and it looks amazing. We had them pour a patio in our backyard about a year ago and the initial work was great. Good work and I love the final product. The problem came now when we have noticed some pretty significant cracking. We were expecting some cracks so I called to set up a time for them to come give us a quote to fill the cracks and reseal. My husband called about 4 times with no response. I called and reached Josh and he said he could come and to just text him what day works best for me: I text him back 3 times and called and left a message with no response. Crickets. I guess if you want a one shot job with zero follow up. Apparently, we have a miscommunication. When Josh performed his whirlwind measurements of my driveway, he told me that he'd provide me my estimate on Friday. He probably could have provided a ballpark figure onsite and then could have taken his time preparing the estimate. Regardless, if I'm paying somebody thousands of dollars to do work, then, at the very least, I expect them to follow through with their agreements. This didn't happen. read more

I was very impressed with Josh and D & D Concrete. Josh was responsive and showed up on time to review the project. He promptly gave me a quote with multiple options, and then came out to my house a second time when I started asking more questions about the specifics of the project to ensure we were on the same page. I received half a dozen bids and selected D&D to do my grading/concrete patio project due to price, responsiveness, communication, and knowledge. Very difficult job including building an 80' retaining wall with French drain, an 80' cedar fence, and a 750 sf stamped concrete patio, surrounded by river rock. The yard is sloped, which presented several problems, and access to the area is limited. We had 10 contractors come to quote the job and several refused because it would be too tough. When Josh came to look, I knew right then and there that he was our guy. It was his sincere, can-do attitude that convinced me. When his crew showed up, they exhibited the same friendly can do attitude. They came early every day, and worked long and hard. It was wonderful to see living proof that the work ethic was alive and well, and even more, they clearly took pride in their work. They were awesome. Josh showed up almost every day to make sure all was going well, and it was. When we made changes mid-stream, they were extremely helpful with suggestions. Finished product is just about perfect.
