Ofa was the crew supervisor, when he came over to give an estimate he explained everything they would do including trimming some tree roots once the old concrete was demolished. He was patient, courteous and answered all of my questions. They finished the demo in the morning and the concrete was poured that afternoon. We had been thinking about extending the walkways around our house and our deck area for a few years and weren't quite sure how to do it given the unique dome shape of the house and contacted a few contractors to look at the site. We first got in contact with Vai and then met with his brother Ofa at our house to show the area and talk about how it could be done. Ofa had some great ideas and while discussing it also brought up replacing our rotting wood/dirt stairs. After thinking about it we went for it and he and his crew knocked it out in a week and were able to finish with exposed aggregate that matched the existing deck area and walkways. It turned out amazing, we are very happy with it and the entire crew was easy to work with. They were able to quickly address any changes or problems as they came up. Excellent price, and they did excellent work (I got at least 5 estimates, and they were all over the place). On top of it all, they were able to start within days of providing the estimate. Vai was great with communication and adaptable when we needed to adjust the project. Our old steps (see pic) were kind of treacherous to begin with, and when the lips started to crumble after the last ice storm, we knew it was time to replace them. Vai came out himself to provide a quote for replacing our dilapidated two-track driveway with a full-width one + a french drain, adding a new separate walkway from the sidewalk to our porch, replacing the mismatched concrete work between our house and detached garage, and extending a not-to-code concrete window well. His quote came in mid-range among the four quotes we received and was less than half of the highest. The entire project took a week to complete and Vai stayed late into the night finishing the concrete work himself after the concrete truck broke down and delayed the pouring process by half a day. The owner was responsive.; however, there were other issues. The description of work to be done to replace wood expansion joints in our concrete surrounding the pool was not what was done. Wood ws removed, but self-leveling concrete was poured. This made it impossible to put grooves in the concrete for expansion of the already existing concrete. Also, in sealing our deck, sidewalks and stairs, the worker ran out of sealing material twice and had to return. When walking over our driveway, the sealing material was dribbled on the driveway. He scrubbed it off with a wire brush and left. Would I hire them again, NO. read more

Not having had any personal recommendations for driveway work from friends or family, I called Vai at H2Oregon Concrete and a few other concrete businesses after conducting an online search and reading a handful of reviews. I'm glad I chose Vai's company. Not only did he provide competitive pricing, he and his crew did excellent work all around. First they removed a massive dead pine tree whose roots had lifted and destroyed the driveway I needed to replace. After completing extensive tree and root removal and removing the old driveway, Vai and his crew installed a beautiful new driveway. Their work was careful and precise. That's not all. After the guys completed the driveway and were ready to leave, Vai joked to me, "let's hope a dog doesn't walk over this overnight." Sure enough, as my family and I ate dinner and the concrete lay still wet, someone's pet decided to scamper across the driveway, leaving conspicuous paw prints. Vai removed our driveway. He did a good job getting the driveway out. However, he hit the foundation of the house and caused thousands of dollars more in damage. He made no attempt to make it right.
