We had an excellent experience with Lifetime Chimney. We have a chimney that we never use that needed to have a cap put on. Another company said they would only rebuild the entire fireplace and chimney. We never intend to use the fireplace and just needed to protect it from weather and creatures getting in. (We couldn't afford a complete rebuild in any case.) Lifetime Chimney saved us! They completed some repairing so they could install a cover/ cap, and they pressure washed the chimney. Miguel did an excellent job and was very kind. When I first called in, I spoke with Brian who was incredibly helpful! I was worried when I called in, but Brian explained what they needed to do. Outstanding! Michael was thorough in his inspection and explained everything to me from changes to chimney safety over time (our house was built in 1928) to what we can and need to do today. He gave me suggestions but did not try and sell me anything I didn't need. After the inspection I had him install a stainless steel chimney cap for $275. We had one done at our other house that cost over $500 a few years ago. Lifetime Chimney is my personal go-to from now on and the place I recommend! read more

I completely removed the roof on my 50 year old house. I had some typical plywood and a couple other issues you find on a house with 2 layers removed. After the roofer was done I wanted to have the chimney waterproofed and counter flashing redone. I hired Lifetime Chimney to do the work. The work was done on time on budget and it came out fantastic. The technician arrived on time and went to work straight away. Finished in approximately 3 hours and left the job site neat and clean and my chimney looks fantastic. UPDATE: The owner of the company reviewed the misquote, agreed that it was misquoted, and decided not to honor it. For this reason, I believe the company to be one which knowingly acts in bad faith and should be avoided at all costs. Their pricing (once the mistake was cleared up) was also nearly double all other quotes I received. He even did so publicly in response to this post, see blow. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was quoted a flat rate for 2 chimneys via Yelp in writing, when the tech was here he refused to do both stating that only one was on the books and that we would have to pay double the quoted price to do the second chimney. Excellent on every level. Fast response time to an estimate request, estimators showed up on time and even called to notify us they'd be a little early. Estimator Luis was friendly and thorough and got us the bid promptly. We needed our flashing replaced, caps for 3 flues, crown rebuild, powerwash and seal, and a retuck for our roughly 4'-4.5' chimney. Bryan answered all of our questions quickly and with a good sense of humour. Day of the scheduled work the techs showed up on time, reported in at the end of the day and even notified us of some accidental damage to a fence that they promised to repair the next day. Work was completed quickly the following day and they sent us all photos of the work just a couple days after we requested. I'll start my review by saying I know absolutely nothing about chimneys. We recently moved into our new home and our Chimney damper was stuck. I used Yelp to reach out to several Chimney experts and Jim at Lifetime Chimney was the first to reply and offer to come out for an inspection at $95 with a quote for an optional clean if necessary. They were able to come out about a week later and the technician who came was an absolute pleasure to deal with - very knowledgeable and patient with my lack of any knowledge on fireplaces. He explained that we didn't need a clean yet good but our Chimney was unfortunately not up to code (and he broke that news to us gently) which meant we had two options to consider for us to be able to use the fireplace. Again, he broke these down for us and was transparent with the costs as well as pros and cons of each. Oh and back to the damper...he had tried to fix that for us during the visit by trying from inside the chimney and even going up on the roof but discovered that it was completely snapped. As new homeowners, we've been dealing with lots of electricians, contractors etc who have offered far less patience and empathy when quoting and explaining what's needed and why it costs what it does which is something we really appreciated when dealing with Lifetime Chimney. At the end of the day, it cost us $95 to have a full Inspection on our chimney. We do to spend money to fix our Chimney but I fully trust the technician and would be happy to give them the business because of the service we received. I didn't get the name of our technician but I can only assume he is a good representation of everyone who works for Lifetime Chimney and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs help with there Chimney! read more

A big thank you to Lifetime Chimney for literally bringing our decaying chimney back to new. We received a total of 4 quotes and ended up choosing Lifetime because they were the only company who found and noted defective flashing during their initial in-depth inspection. We saw that as a sign of their professionalism and we do not regret trusting that. Today the delightful and hard-working crew from Lifetime Chimney came out and did a thorough pressure wash, tuck-pointing of multiple areas, shoulder rebuild, added new flashing, resurfaced, and finally added a very thick layer of water repellent which will be good for 10 years. The end result is truly amazing. Finally, a shout out Brian and to how flawless the interfacing was with him - from the estimate process, appointment reminder via text, to final payment on the on-line portal. This business has 5 stars on Angi's list, why I have no clue? I chose them because they're local and they advertise inspection AND sweep for 199$. I had a 2:30 appt. and he got here after 4:00 when it turns dark at 4:30. He did get on roof to inspect chimney but there was no sweeping involved. He never brought any brushes in to sweep chimney, only a dry vac and pretty much vacuumed my fireplace and that was it. I was told too much creosote and it would cost 3000$ to spray chimney and wait 3-7 days so it would be as good as new. You're basically paying 200$ for an inspection and it's a scam. What's wrong with these rip off companies? There were no wire brushes involved, he had some kind of weird brushes with plastic looking bristles which were never brought into house and used, they remained out in front of house! Oh yeah, he told me not to use fireplace because I could start a chimney fire? Isn't that why I hired him? Are there any honorable honest workers who are not only on time but do the job they're being paid for? This seems to be a pattern with companies anymore as this isn't the only time this has happened. A local well known furnace and plumbing company advertised they'd flush out clogged pipes for 99$. We mentioned that special to them and it turned into a 900$ bill, I noticed they took that commercial off the air soon after so I'm sure there were complaints of scam! Just because someone's business is on Angi's list doesn't necessarily mean they have integrity or are honest, ask questions and get several bids and make sure when they get to your house they actually do the job you're paying them for! read more

We just moved to Oregon and purchased a house with a wood burning stove. We called Lifetime Chimney and booked a service call. They showed up on the scheduled date. They were running a little late; they had the courtesy to call and let us know and make sure it was ok to come an hour later. In this day and age getting someone to show up at all gets them 4 stars! When he arrived he got the stove and chimney cleaned, told us the condition, pointed out a cracked fire brick and gave us some tips on running the stove (we'd never had one before). When he left everything was clean and reassembled. Great job, friendly guy, showed up when scheduled...we booked next years service already. read more

Called Lifetime to come have a look at our gas fireplace. They came out and looked it over, charged $85 for they service call and then quoted $1300 to fix it. Today, I had our fireplace fixed like new for $249. Get a second quote! read more

We used Lifetime Chimney to do a cleaning on our pellet stove and chimney and I won't use anyone else from here on out! Customer service was top notch! In fact, I got my appointment for the NEXT DAY after I contacted them. Our technician was in contact with us as he was on his way out (I swear, service folks usually just show up late and say "sorry" - Marshall sent us a text and called me to let me know he was en route). The service was done with a white glove treatment, he even offered to take his boots off and laid out a carpet protector. I'm pretty sure what was supposed to be a shorter service ended up being a full scale clean out. He never made us feel like he was pressed for time and he didn't leave until the job was fully done. Apparently you are supposed to have pellet stoves cleaned once a year (ooops, we had gone 6 years!). He even helped clean off our roof by throwing down some debris that was left up there from our roofers many months ago (didn't even have to ask him, again, thanks!). Thanks Lifetime Chimney, you have a customer for life! (We are already booking our appointment for next year so hopefully the job won't be as bad next time). So hard to find honest, hardworking, trustworthy, skilled workers to do work - I'm glad this is something I can check off my to-do list from now on! read more

First appointment, chimney cleaning. Shows up 45 minutes early and no call. Felt this may have been an oversight, scheduled the installation of a pipe kit in our brick/mortar chimney ($1,500) for safety reasons. Day of appointment, supposed to be at our home at specific time, per what THEY said. An hour and half after a no show/no call, I call the main office and get a voicemail providing the manager (Brian's) phone number. I call Brian and leave a voicemail for expressing my displeasure. (Note: I work from home and have several meetings throughout the day. I am flexible, but I'm trusting that others are going to stick to the time THEY state.) About 10 minutes later I get a call from Adam (not Brian the manager) saying he would be at our home shortly. About 2-2.5 hours after our initial appointment time, Adam and another employee show up and begin work. The piping kit THEY ordered was the wrong size so they would need to order another kit and come back. I again reminded them the importance of sticking to scheduled time and the appeared to understand. Second appointment day/time (9am), late but less than 45 minutes. Brian (manager) and Adam show up, but our metal roof is wet (condensation only) so they would like to return in "a couple of hours." We agree. Around 1:30pm they return. No call, no updates, no apologies, nothing. They spend about 15 minutes installing the pipe kit, we pay then and they leave. (Note: they did give us a $100 discount, AFTER I emailed and without acknowledging their crappy customer service.) I am amazed at the completely horrible customer service out of this company. Such an easy solution (better communication) yet such crappy service. We were flexible, but THEY stated times of service and THEY failed (by hours) to show or even communicate with us. Will absolutely not do service with them again and will highly discourage others as well. read more

Had arranged for an inspection and cleaning of a wood fireplace right after moving into the home. The worker left without notice and told my friend that besides a broken heat stone everything looked good and that I would get the invoice in the mail. I never got any invoice. When I tested it out and started a small fire it almost caused a chimney fire! It doesn't look like it has been cleaned at all! And they refuse to answer the phone or return any messages. read more

Would give 0 stars if was an option. We received our estimate outlining the work to be done on our chimney take down and rebuild from the roofline up. When the work was completed nothing was done as the estimate stated. We had a different chimney repair company out to evaluate the work and they verified that we had been taken advantage of. Old brick used not new, not waterproof coated, flashing done incorrectly, height was of lesser stack than our original, not new chimney caps, flat not mounded cement on top. This says nothing about the destruction of our yard and debris and cigarette butts left that we had to clean up. They entered our home without masks and asked to use our bathroom. They did refund 100% of our money as they had no leg to stand on. We have hired someone else to do the job correctly. read more

We were referred to lifetime chimney by the company that is doing our roof. When they came out to give us a bid I was pleasantly surprised. They went up to the roof and came down with Full detail of what was needed to be done. I had called out several other companies that came and didn't even get out of their truck and just gave me a bid based on a guess of what was happening. Lifetime was able to fit us into there schedule quite quickly. Their crew showed up and did an amazing job. I asked if they could save the old whole bricks for us, and the even stacked them up nicely in a neat stack. Everyone was polite, professional and skilled. My house is 64 years old and the mortar on the chimney bricks has deteriorated to the point of leaking water onto my ceiling when there is a heavy downpour for a couple of days.
