*Note: My review is of the clothing and home decor section.* If you ride English, your shopping options are extremely limited in San Antonio (there are no good options). D&D carries a healthy selection of riding pants, including Ariat. The women's clothing and boot section are expansive, and have a much better selection than Cavendars. This store is set up more like a Wester Wear store you would see up north, where they carry everything, unlike the city "Western wear" stores, where the employees are dime store Cowboys. The employees were friendly and helpful, and knew the brands. They carry everything from Double D to Frye to Sperry, and the prices seemed comparable to other major retailers. I found a cute baby shower gift, jewelry, and jeans on sale. The home decor section was filled with contemporary western things like cheese boards, picture frames, and place settings, and the prices were reasonable. According to my boyfriend, the saddle section seemed slim from their previous stock. They do have consignment options, it seems. If you are looking for a present for someone else, or for yourself, or need feed, D&D is your place. read more

The trailer service department is excellent. I dropped off my Sundowner 3-horse trailer for minor and routine maintenance. All work was performed properly and on time. They didn't immediately jump to the most expensive option...total part replacement. For example, my tack room door started swinging opening while hauling. Instead of trying to sell me a new door lock, they serviced the existing door lock. Problem solved! Last but certainly not least, they treated me with respect and not like a helpless female. read more

Don't order anything from this store. Ordered a "new" cooler and it arrived in a no-name box without its plastic bag and no packing. Didn't even bother to clean it up. Bought a pair of Justin ropers 248.00 didn't have 9EE in stock so I tried the 9,s to tight wore them for a bout 2 hrs. could hardly get them back off. cleaned them up took them back and went to exchange them they wouldn't do it because the sole had slight wear. Went to get a pair of boots and found a pair with no help from anyone as we were checking out I chose to wear my boots out because I wanted to break them in. I let one young lady know I was wearing them and she was very nice. Out of no where another young extremely rude girl walks up and say's very hateful since you're wearing them out sale is final!! I wanted to take the boots off and take my business elsewhere! I am completely fine with the rules of wearing boots out, she could of went about it COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and been professional about it. To many young kid's working and talking about partying instead of helping us. I was fine with that, but that young rude girl was so wrong and out of line. I will never go back and will not have my friends or family go there. I would rather spend 100 dollars more even 200 then to ever be treated so bad!! This was on May 18th 2019. Great place, great items, usually end up buying something I did not even know I needed until I saw it there. When checking out, they do not ask a million questions, or try to sign you up for something, or try to capture your email and phone number or some rewards program that means nothing or on and on like other places. This review is for the trailer sales section. I will start by saying that I'm sure buying a new trailer from them is a very different experience, but getting a used trailer was a terrible experience and has left me with several additional expenses to repair things that they promised were repaired. They assured me that the trailer was in fully funcitonal condition. The generator had a tune up and had "Several years of life on it" the trailer was safe and ready to go, according to them. So we did our walk through, caught a few more things for them to repair, and off we went. First, the trailer brakes did not work. This is the first thing that should have been checked, on a 12,000 pound horse trailer. EXTREMELY unsafe. They have not responded to my inquiries on this. -The radio did not work although they "Tested it and it worked" -The generator did not work, once we got it home- despite their two attempts to repair it and replace the carb. - I waited two weeks to pick up the trailer because they were "ordering a microwave from Bison" - appliances are all stainless steel, when i went to pick it up, they informed me that they purchased the microwave from Lowes (it was white and din't match). This took two weeks? I have no idea what the two week wait was for. Just laziness to do any work. The thing, is, that the trailer was on consignment, s the owner had to pay for the repairs, NOT D&D. So this didn't affect them financially, they should have paid the $5 extra bucks at Lowes and at least bought a stainless steel microwave to match the trailer. I have emailed the salesman, Cody, several times with these issues, and no response. I forwarded the email to the sales manager, and no response. I was warned about doing business with them, and I should have heeded that warning. Beware, if you can find a similar trailer from a different sales place, buy it elsewhere. They don't keep any promises and their guarantees mean nothing. The clothing store and tack store is great. It is expensive, but they have nice stuff and a great staff. Perhaps they can teach the trailer sales a thing or two about customer service. read more

I judge companies by their responses to mistakes and glitches and this response was stellar. I located a hard-to-find billabong straw hat here. The website had a glitch; my order went through but I got an error message and didn't know it. This was the day before July 4 , Thursday. I left a message asking for a return call to clear this up. They called me before noon on Monday to apologize and say they would look into it. I had a call back within two hours from Emilie to verify the order was canceled and she took a new order over the phone after she personally picked the item right off the retail floor. She assured me that she would personally see that it got shipped off to me in a timely fashion and they sent me a gift card for my trouble. The next day a gentleman called to verify that my problem was handled to my satisfaction. The hat arrived in a timely fashion safely packaged. Nice job! read more
