I believe this is my 3rd-4th time, having brought vehicles to D&E Auto Repair, for inspections... And it's been a pretty easy breeze each time. So from my times here, I can say that the staff members have all been very attentive & easy to talk to, (ask questions) & knowledgeable. They all seem to work seamlessly together & be on the same page, which definitely seems to speed up any possible wait times. I am always pleased with how smooth and quick the process is and I'm back on my way again. Also, knowing that I won't be pressured into all the dreaded unknown upselling (I have always seemed to run into with a few other companies) puts my anxiety in check! I feel more comfortable & confident knowing they will be transparent & straight up in their findings & I won't be price gouged or told some bs, that will leave me feeling uneasy & unsure on my drive home. I would definitely recommend trying them out... whenever the "looking for a good mechanic" topic comes up, I drop my D&E chime in... okay, this is why I don't leave reviews (because being an over thinker is exhausting) it's a lot to read, but I usually won't take the time to do reviews... so if I do, it's been a standout good experience or the complete opposite. I am impressed with D&E & I hope it helps someone else out, if you find yourself one day, frantically flying through all the different auto repair companies on here, you just found one... call or drive over to check. Gotta agree with Mark F here in the comments definitely another bait and hook auto shop been there twice now with 2 different cars but the last time I went in it was for a routine oil change and when I get my car back it took 3 times to start and now I'm going to another auto shop to get my starter fix and all they can say is "oh I think it's a coincidence" like really didn't have a problem with it before I brought it in for an oil change and then on the other car they charged us a fee for looking at the radio to see what's wrong with but they still couldn't even tell us what's wrong with but yet we got charged. Another thing is bill and the other lady are very rude at the front desk and obviously the mechanic doesn't know what he's doing Would not recommend this place to anyone if I could give zero starts I would. read more

My expectations with this have been terrible. There customer service socks. I came in with transmission leaking and ended up having a clutch replacement. I took my truck here to get a diagnosis on the A/C system. They checked it and wrote up a whole 3 pages of quotes on everything across the whole truck. They told me they couldn't figure out why the A/C was not engaging as the refrigerant was full and there were no leaks. Yet they gave me a quote to get it fixed. They said I needed a new compressor that it was not working and that I would need to replace basically the whole A/C system in order for it to be able to be "guaranteed." They wanted over $2400. I paid them $189.00 for their diagnosis. I then took it to another mechanic. The new mechanic found that the clutch was not even attached to the compressor. It was gone. Meaning it could not engage and turn on the AC. D&E made no mention of this in their notes or in their estimate. I just got this truck used so I had no idea. That is why I took it for a diagnosis. They gave me a bad diagnosis. They cannot even tell if the compressor has the required parts on it to operate. The new mechanic is ordering me a new clutch for the A/C and will install it. D&E's reasoning for not refunding my diagnosis is because they say you cannot order the clutch by itself. This is false. I called D&E to let them know that their A/C inspection is invalid and was untrue. I only went to them to get a diagnosis. If their diagnosis is invalid they owe me a refund. They refused. In addition they were rude AF when I asked for my money back. They took advantage of me and charged me for nothing basically. In addition they found everything under the sun wrong with my truck and sounded the alarm like the whole truck was going to fall into a pile of parts once I drove away. They said I had a leak in my engine: There was no leak it was just oil dripped down from someone sloppy filling it. They said my radiator was leaking when it was a radiator that was replaced less than a year earlier (verified not leaking). They are dishonest. IN RESPONSE TO YOUR REPLY... I DID NOT COME IN FOR A QUOTE. I ASKED FOR A DIAGNOSIS ON MY AC SYSTEM. THAT MEANS TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO COVER YOUR MISTAKE. YOUR MECHANIC DID NOT EVEN RECOGNIZE WHAT THE ACTUAL ISSUE WAS THEY JUST RECOMMENDED REPLACING EXPENSIVE PARTS. THE COMPRESSOR FOR MY VEHICLE IS $200 FOR THE PART. YOUR QUOTE TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR WAS $1300. IF A PART IS MISSING THAT SHOULD BE IN THE REPORT. THE LADY AT THE DESK TOLD ME THAT YOU COULDN'T GET THE AC TO ENGAGE. WELL OBVIOUSLY IF THE CLUTCH IS MISSING FROM THE FRONT OF THE COMPRESSOR IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE. YOUR DIAGNOSIS WAS INCOMPLETE. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REPLACE WHOLE COMPRESSOR FOR $1300. A CLUTCH KIT IS AVAILABLE AND CAN BE INSTALLED IN 20 MINUTES. INSTEAD YOU WANT TO MAKE THE MOST MONEY YOU CAN OFF PEOPLE. read more

I have been going to D&E for over a decade. I started to bring in my vehicles for service when Thane was the owner, then Kevin and now Aaron. I have had good experiences up until recently. I brought my Ford f150 in because of a wrench light on the dashboard. Luckily it was only some minor wiring. So the guy that I seen working on my truck told me it was a seatbelt sensor and not to worry the light didn't mean anything... I was told to bring it back a week later, which I did, but nothing happened and to bring it back next week. On my next visit I mentioned that the guy who was working on it had told me it was a seat belt light, but Bill (Receptionist) said "that guy doesn't know sh*t". So I'm assuming they have incompetent employees according to Bill. Now on my third visit for some loose wiring I was told that they fired the guy that was working on my truck. I said that I really dont want to pay for people to practice on my truck and Bill and the owner Aaron said that he never worked on it... little do they know I live a block away and seen him with my own two eyes as I walked over and looked in the shop bay doors. Not to mention the fact that Bill told me he did during the first visit. After they both decided to keep lying to me, I was told it was going to be $989.00. I told them not to do anything else to my truck and I would pick it up. I ended up paying $664.00 for nothing, the dash light is still on, and wires never got fixed. This used to be a nice family shop before the expansion and corporate journey it is trying to force into place. But I guess it makes sense to why the service and prices are unexpectable and outrageous. Overall, no integrity in the work, no professionalism, and most importantly no honesty.(11/4/24) Aaron, In response to your reply, It is sad to see that you are taking this route. I know how much you have cared about the integrity of your work as well as the honesty, but I see that has changed. It's unfortunate that you fail to see the way in which your company is being represented. It's scary that you not only lie to your "friends" but also to the community to support your family. Dont even know how this place has good reviews! They used to be good i guess but now all they think about is how to pick ur pocket and drain all your money! I used to go here a lot for my car but realized that they were becoming more and more unreliable and money digging people. The very last time i went there didnt end up good because they tried to charge me for $1850 just for a sound that was coming out of my car. Didnt trust them and went to a dealer only to hear that the sound was coming from my break bolts not being thight!!!! They tightened the bolts for 20$ and everything was fine from then. They start out by giving you a warm and friendly greeting and then it just gets better from there. The waiting room is clean and comfortable with a selection of free beverages to enjoy. They keep you updated on service progress in a timely fashion and have a fantastic system for their customers. They can text the information right to your phone. You click on the link and it shows everything about your service and pictures when appropriate. You can approve or decline any service reccomendations right from your phone. Very important to me....there was no pressure!! I felt like I was given all the information I needed to make a good decision without feeling like I was being pushed to do anything. This place is amazing! From the moment I called them showed up at their shop and through the whole process I felt like they were being honest and helping me every way they could. It was right after 4th of July and all other places were backed up. They had the best price in town for a diagnostics by far and Bill was able to get me in and help me get me back on the road within 48 hours.
