Paid over a grand to fix my husbands power steering and in less then a year it's already going out again. We took it somewhere else and they said the pump is already failing and needs to be replaced again. We will be looking around and hoping that there is a Warrenty of some kind but because we were out of town we couldn't wait to have it replaced by them again. Very dissatisfied with the service that I received. Extremely poor communication and misleading responses provided. One day smog check took a full week due to faulty equipment. Clearly lacked experience with vehicles with a carburetor and older smog systems. Charged $200 for pre-test inspection and repairs but ran the test with timing being out and the carburetor needing adjustment. Returned the vehicle to me with a failed test, timing still out 15 degrees, a carburetor out of adjustment, a $402 bill, and a claim that parts for a Chevy 350 motor cannot be sourced. Learned a very expensive lesson about trusting Boradori Automotive. read more

Terrible place to work, and way overpriced. They charge 30% extra labor on every job and charge as much as 200% more than what they pay for a part. They treat their employees like tools to use and discard. Their mechanics Josh and Joe have both already been fired and are now rehired. Josh for negligence and attitude issues. Came in for an oil change after having my car inspected at another shop (Which I trust) out of town just four weeks prior. Upon return, they begin listing off numerous problems with my car. When they offered to show me pictures of said issues, he couldn't even point out the problem (Because it's not really there) he even contradicted himself and said "well you actually can't see it in the picture" he then asked me if I know how car transmissions and engines work. Which led him to mansplaining these non existing problems to me. As a young female, I felt sooo uncomfortable and apprehensive about anything the mechanic was trying to tell me and will never be returning. Bonus~ On my repair sheet they sent me out with listed an air filter change for $171 on my 2016 Hyundai LOL, I can't lie you guys did give me a good laugh, they're prices are comical! Having spent thousands of dollars at Boradori Automotive, I had my car towed to their shop and told the service writer that two dashboard fault lights were on. The next day I called Boradori and the service writer told me that they could not figure out what was wrong with my car, and that I should pickup the car, which I did. In driving my car to my residence the engine stopped running. Boradori refused to repair the damage resulting from their incompetence. I recommend finding a competent car mechanic. read more

My experience, there was very unpleasant, brought it in for a diagnostic, they say they found the problem and fixed it. I got the vehicle back. It was worse than when I dropped it off, went back 4 different times to try to get it squared away, they refused to do it wanted another 2 to $300 after I already charged me $200. Got the Van back greasy footprints on the carpet. Greasy Fingerprints on the - match bezel had 2 cracks in it. Got the - bezel back broken into many pieces. We'll never recommend that place. We'll never go back to that place. I will tell everybody not to go there but I'm already finding out. Many people got the same experiences I did. Scheisters. Avoid at all cost. Tried to scam me out of money. Took it in for an oil change, but they tell me I have another problem which is fully covered by my extended warranty then the next day after my car is left there overnight thinking they're going to cover the job Totally like they said, all of a sudden. Now they're telling me that my warranty is only paying a small portion of it even though I have 100% coverage and that I'm gonna have to pay a ton of money. they also wanted me to do a Service that was recommended and so I applied for the Credit card there because they insisted. I got approved for the Credit for more than the service amount way more so when they saw that I had extra credit available, they decided to try to tell me that my warranty wasn't gonna pay for the whole job that previously they told me was 100% covered, and that I needed to put the balance onto My Credit that was available because they saw the amount of Credit I had and they said it's no big deal because I have the Credit available, so just put it on there!!!!!! I actually had full coverage warranty, but they were upping the Price of the Repair for the warranty Repair way above the price of the cost of what it normally cost, at the warranty company. When I called the warranty company they told me that they were fully paying the entire Bill that boradori put in for, And that I shouldn't owe any money at all, except for my deductible and they told me that they were trying to scam me because it was fully covered. So I drove over there and took my car back and gave them no Service at all except the oil change that I originally went in for on a coupon, and I told them why, and that I was very upset because I didn't like to be played and all of this was because they saw that I had a higher credit limit for the Service Job that was due so intern, they decide to try to Bill me a higher Price than what the warranty pays and what they normally Bill for the Repair that needed to be done so they could just get free money so I took my car back and said forget it and gave them no business and I told them why and I was very very upset so I'm just letting you know now. Do not apply for any kind of credit there with them If you decide to actually go to this place, which would be stupid. Once they see your Credit limit They're gonna try to get you to rack up the entire Credit limit and fill it up so they can get extra money out of you. Even if it's not something needed. So make sure that you check your extended warranty if you go there and make sure that they are truly being paid for the Price. In full even on any warranty coverage. you don't want to get stuck paying them extra money because they see you have Credit available. So beware I wouldn't go there at all personally. They offered me a free oil changed to make up for all the drama and I never redeemed it ever after that. I change my oil myself now, because I'm not going to even take my car back there ever again. Buyer, beware watch out. Especially if you're Girl. They're gonna try to screw you. Luckily I'm super smart and did my homework. Also, I don't think the Credit companies should not be telling these people our Credit limits. I'm gonna call the credit company and let them know that they're doing this. they should only tell them if it's gonna cover the Service or not. They shouldn't be giving them our credit limits because that's when they start thinking They can rack up Our Bill and the guys acted like it was no big deal. They tried to say that my payment will only go from this amount to way up here to this amount which I couldn't afford anyways Even if I wanted to so I thought it was really rude. Just cause I had credit available that they thought I could just rack it up and owe all this money. Anyway, just be aware. I'm not gonna lie to Place is Nice looking inside And they do offer free Rental cars while your car is in Service, But trust me They make their money back from all the extras and scams they pull on people. My son had his car towed in with a failed starter (it just spin up, didn't engage). They wanted $700 to replace it, plus a $200 "diagnostic" fee! He took it elsewhere and the cost was $170 including the part and 45 minutes of labor to do it (super easy job on that car, don't even have to get underneath). I found my new shop! I've been going to the same mechanics out of town my whole life and really needed an oil change so I booked online (super convenient btw) after finding these guys through the AAA membership as the only one recommended in Chico by AAA. More importantly, my Chico native friends love this place, along with the infamous Chico Rants and Raves Facebook group. I'm not sure if I realize just how much I've been missing or if these guys are just that excellent. Along with my oil change, they did a 30 point inspection, and found numerous things on my vehicle to bring to my attention, and Jared made sure to tell me which things were the most critical and what could wait. Since I had a massive 600 mile drive scheduled for the next day, they were kind enough to squeeze me in the next morning to get the critical taken care of to ensure my safety. I don't know about other people but this kind of proactive work always really impresses me, especially when there is zero sales pressure! They provide a lovely, air conditioned waiting area with water and coffee and wifi if you want to wait. They also have a shuttle service to drop you off and pick you up, which I needed! Also important, Jared especially, but everyone seems to treat customers like family. I felt so cared for while there, and watched them treat others the same way. Did not expect to feel so at home at an auto shop. Beyond impressed with this place, and they've certainly won me over. read more

Nope. Unfortunately, I'm not going back to Boradori. I'm leaving a generous 3 stars because I have had good experiences in the past. Last week I got a quote for brakes, including rotors, for the average price out of the calls I made to 4 mechanics in Chico. The guy was friendly and helpful and said it would only take a few hours. So I made an appointment or Monday morning. Ultimately, I chose Boradori because (a) I had a coupon for $50 off any service over a certain amount (b) they offer a shuttle (and when your car needs work that will take a few days, they even offer a loaner) and (c) I've been going there fairly regularly and prefer to stick to one auto repair place and not bounce around. Well.... when I arrived this Monday morning, I was told they didn't have the brakes in stock! He said he'd have to call a few places and to leave my car there. Because of the fact that I didn't know how long it would take, I chose to drive home and I asked him to please call me when the brakes were in and I'd be there in 10 minutes. I finally got a call at 11:38am, letting me know that the brakes were in. He had to ask the mechanic if they still had time to get them done today (even though that was the original promise). I then read the text for the estimate and it was more than TWICE the original quote!! I'm not kidding. I was shocked. And he tells me, "but that's before the coupon so you get $50 off." I'm sorry but I'm not paying a literal GRAND mere domestic brakes and rotors from Riebes! I feel indignant and insulted right now. My overall opinion is that Boradori has excellent customer service (i.e. "salespeople") and they tell you what you want to hear. They gouge their prices, the coupons cover the amount they raise above the actual cost, which in my opinion is higher than average. I typically feel that you 'get what you pay for,' but not Boradori, not anymore. :( I'm very disappointed actually, because I was happy with them before today. My ex kept telling me he didn't like them and would dispute the cost of their estimates and their work done there, and I would always defend them. Unfortunately, I now agree with him. read more

These people are very dishonest. My elderly mother took her car in for an electronic seat repair. She knew exactly what she wanted and asked for it. When she returned to pick up the car they told her she had over $2,000 worth of repairs needed on her engine (hoses etc). Then when she said she didn't want any additional repairs they pressured her and charged her for the "test drive" $199 to find all these additional engine repairs. She didn't ask them to check anything or approve it. I would never take a car to them! read more

Got my oil changed for a reasonable rate. Boradori has been around for years and until recently, I viewed the shop as just another in a large handful of facilities in Chico. My vehicle's oil was in need of a change, and this shop stood out as they had recently mailed over a flyer with coupons. $45 for a full synthetic oil change sounded like a deal to me. I was impressed with the overall professionalism of this shop. I called to make my appointment and was provided friendly service from the receptionist, Arleen. I appreciated how I was sent an automated reminder text 24 hours prior to the appointment time. I don't normally see those sorts of extra touches so was impressed. The shop itself is in an older section of downtown Chico. There isn't a private parking lot; rather, there are two designated parallel storefront parking spaces to drop your vehicle off. The lobby was very clean with comfy seating and complimentary coffee, sodas and chips. That was a plus as I opted to wait in-house due to the rain. My advisor, Luke, was friendly and professional. The on-duty mechanic even called me back to point out a few potential future issues that my vehicle would need servicing on. I'm subtracting two stars as a caged brown/white dog in the office growled and barked viciously at me as I walked from the garage back to the lobby. That was disappointing and did make me feel uneasy. Ultimately, this is the shop's responsibility. A decent experience overall, but I would likely not return to this facility as I've been bitten by dogs before. I'm just grateful the canine wasn't on the loose as it could've ended worse. read more

Paid 3500 for New alternator, oil leak fix, and timing belt. It's been 1 year and the oil is pouring from my car worst tan ever, I had the replace the "new" alternator last month... and worst of all, the daythey gave me the car back there were alarms going off saying my break syster was broken.. literall screaming alarms that werent there before and they said it was "already like that".. i cant believe i didnt take them to court. They said itd be another 3500 for that additional fix. They broke the break line pressure manifold right next to the head gasket oil leak they "fixed". These guys or at least the mechanic are total 100% crooks. They straight up robbed me and denied anything happened. And they were the only "proof" that i had since i only took it to them. Dont trust these guys... get proof and documentation before any fixes that can be help up in court.. read more

I took my vehicle in for service. They said I had a leaking hose interfering with my air conditioning. 100 bucks for the hose, which took hours to deliver. It was installed. Some odd blinking of my dash lights occurred but went away. There was still a small leak in the same location. A couple of months later, I popped the hood to repair the windshield washer pump and assembly. There, sitting in my engine compartment was a huge wrench and tool, not mine. Had that thing moved due to excessive braking or steering, it would have dropped directly into my engine drive belts. They may be nice, but I will never trust them again with something that could take my life, or the lives of others. When I returned the tool, they gave me an incredibly lame excuse and offered a free oil change. I wouldn't even trust them to do that right. read more

I busted my oil pan in the nearby mountains, so called around to get quotes. Had was consistently getting quotes for $1,300 to $1,500, and being told that it could take up to a week to get the parts. As I was visiting from out of town, I was very concerned about being stuck for a week, or possibly having to find a way home to the Bay and then return...I finally called Boradori and was told to simply bring my vehicle in and they would take care of me. I did so, and they ordered the part from Sacramento and had it driven up to the shop within two hours. I was out of the shop by 4pm with a new oil pan and out only $900, AND they even wasked my vehicle.. I am a very happy customer. read more

For just over SEVEN weeks, I have been trying to get a smog certificate for my car. My car passed the smog inspection but the mechanic spotted a repair that had to be completed before they could issue the certificate. I have called them several times to find out when they can issue the certificate and they tell me they can't find the part they need. The only way I can get any information from them is to call or go in to the shop. I have asked them for the part number and name but they don't call back with the information nor does the person I've talked to know the name of the part or its number. I just don't know what to do at this point. read more

I used them along time ago just re posting my review since I re downloaded. I have a Malibu.2012. These guys ran me for upward of $2,000 in repairs only to take to another shop and have the problem fixed in one visit. I had many diags and at one point they just had me pulling fuses because they could not figure my problem out and sent me on my way. If you have children I would not recommend here they will run them for their money. Jeff one time responded to my post on here that I could come down and he could refund me 400$. Was told by a few friends to bring my car here. I was disappointed on the poor customer service. The older Hispanic man I spoke with was pushy about getting me to do work that wasn't needing attention at this time but insisted it would be better now then later as he said, vehicles need servicing more often then people realize. Relentless with his attempt to get me to do something on his list of issues. The mechanic who showed me my oil leak was also unprofessional and his attitude was aggressive. I'll be looking for another shop after this experience. With such high remarks on customer service, I experienced the worst. Never have I felt so badly served. I hate to give 1 star reviews unless the experience was truly poor. I tried to reason myself into 2 at least, but after some thought, I feel 1 is deserved for the following reasons: I found Boradori on Yelp and decided that a local business who has been here since the 1940s should deserve a shot. My car had been leaking oil a lot lately, and it was hard to tell where it was coming from. I feared a leaky valve cover gasket, due to a little oil on the inside of one of the ignition coils. I made an appointment and arrived the next day to have it inspected. The following morning I received a call and a leaky vcg was confirmed. I was quoted around $875 without the oil change ($131, costs about $50 in parts to do it myself). After searching online and determining I'd rather have a shop do the repair, to save some time, we agreed. The next morning, I called to ask for an update because there were some transportation logistics that needed to be worked out based on the completion of the repairs. I was told possibly that day. Great! And that's when things started deteriorating. A few hours later I received another call, and was told a mistake had been made. What was entered into the computer was a non-turbo model, but my car only has 1 engine option - a turbo 4 cylinder. Because of that, the price was understated and the repair would now be around $1,200! Obviously, the mistake was not on my part, and this was substantially more money than we agreed to. My car was already taken apart and awaiting confirmation for the new parts at the higher cost. When I declined, we decided and agreed to meet in the middle at $1,000. Fine. Not what I had expected, but I agreed to it. Fast forward to the end of the day, and I picked up my car. I drove it around for a while and everything seemed to be working again. However, I noticed that it would over rev when I tested the acceleration. I pulled over and opened the hood. First, I noticed that the intake assembly was loose and seemed thrown together. I will have to tighten it when I get home. This is concerning because other things may have been hurriedly put together and not as good as before the repair. Second, the hood would not stay up. I found the hydraulic strut leaking, and, while this may not be the shop's fault, it was not leaking before the repair. Third, and probably most concerning, it still seems to leak a bit of oil. I will update with more when I get a chance to inspect the leak. It could definitely be a different part leaking, which we discussed before the fix. One big leak can mask other leaks. To finish, a 1 star review is deserved for increasing the price based on the business' mistake, hurriedly throwing the car together at the end, and potentially having more things wrong than before the repair. UPDATE: Still leaking. The itemized receipt says a dye was added to the oil to check for leaks. Need to get it up on ramps to see but it's still leaking at a decent clip. UPDATE 2: I was contacted by the owner and he made good on the original price. This is what I had expected, and a better way to do business. I appreciated the gesture. read more

Dropped off and an hour later the estimate changed to $2400. $825 was already a huge amount of money for me to pay on braked (just the front!). Due to a smog check they told me the reason why it failed was one piece in the engine to which they would charge $2000+ for the installation. They kept hassling to try to get me to bite. Had a high pressure coolant leak while on Highway 5 Orland and CSAA sent me to Borodori Automotive and they had game on. Very knowledgeable people. They patched me up for the radiator failure to get me home and I returned the next day to put a new radiator in (the high pressure hose was installed at the factory - 1/2 diameter). I arrived at 8:30 am -- as arraigned and the part (radiator) took about 5 hours to arrive (about 1 pm or so) according to Borodori - though I ordered it up the day before. I got out of the shop at 3:30 pm and it was $300 for the radiator/coolant and $700 labor (2 hours). Your vehicle will be well taken care of and it is going to cost you big .. in time and money. Lots of nice people in Chico that were there to meet .. Coda Restaurant just next door is good - but oddly enough they do not have Oatmeal for breakfast on their Vegan menu parts. read more
