Three men came to look at my home to explore possibilities for heating and air conditioning. Matthew had been here earlier. The man in charge was well informed and creative. The older man's behavior bothered me, for he walked outside without my permission. He made me nervous as he was outside for a long time. I thought perhaps he left to sit in one of their vehicles. However he walked all over my property , even going into my barn and the old kitchen. I am very protective of my home and our land, for our family has lived here for 203 years. I had already told these three men that I do not allow ANYONE to roam about my land without my being present. When he returned to the house, I was angry and hurt that he had walked, maybe even spied, on my land without my permission! I was eager for all Service Experts to depart quickly. They had promised to contact me with a possible proposal for the heating and air conditioning. Now more than a week later, I have called Service Experts on two occasions, they have NOT returned my calls. I have NOT received a letter explaining their possible plans and costs. Obviously I question the integrity of this company and their truthfulness. Their talk did not offend me, but their actions are highly questionable. I do not want such behaviors to be their actions in business practices. At this moment, I am questioning if Service Experts is a trustworthy and reliable business that I want in our home . I do NOT want the older man to return, and I am unsure if I want any person associated with this business to even remember my address. Service Experts must earn my faith and trust; otherwise I will need to contract with one other competitor for this critical project. Over priced, left me with a safety (fire) hazard, and not at all responsive to follow up issue

Absolutely first-rate experience with Hugh (the "H" in D&H). Easy to schedule, came out fast, worked quickly and expertly, figured out the problem in minutes and ordered the part. I called this company after a very mediocre experience with a different Bosch repair company (which was highly rated), and I am floored by the difference in service. read more

D. & H. Appliance replaced the motor in my washing machines for $720. The machine still would not spin. D. & H. Appliance would not return to check out the problem unless I agreed to pay another $130 service charge. Mr. Appliance of Durham came out, thoroughly tested the washing machine to determine the problem. The washing machine did not have a defective motor ($720 wasted with D. & H Appliance). It had a defective drain pump (about 1/4 of the cost of the new motor). I would never use D. & H. Appliance again! read more

Charged us $264 to tell us we need to call an electrician and to hardwire an old extension cord to our dishwasher. Way overcharge. I don't know how these people sleep at night. Will not use again. read more

I wish I had seen the horrible reviews before I called them to come fix my washer, at the recommendation of a neighbor. WHAT HORRIBLE SERVICE. DO NOT hire them to do anything!!! A repairman came out and charged me $65 to just LOOK at my machine--I actually had to tell him what was wrong because he said he wasn't familiar with my model (it's a Whirlpool top-loader, nothing fancy). Then when I authorized them to come back and actually fix it, I never heard back from them again. I put a stop-payment on my credit card for the $65 charge, and then they sent me a nasty note saying I robbed THEM of their gas money and time and so they were recharging me. HA!!! I arranged repair service on my refrigerator and was told a technician would arrive between noon and 5:30, so I waited and waited and waited. No one ever came. I called the office the next day to find out what happened and was told - "we tried to call you several times but your phone didn't work..." , which was not true. I had received several calls that day. I thought of rescheduling, but in my conversation with the office, they told me they needed my address. They had no record of it! How was a technician supposed to come to my house if they didn't have my address!?!?! I'm not sure if they do good repair work, but their customer service is awful! read more

I called them out to take a look at my Maytag washer. They needed to look at the manual for my washer to even begin to try and figure out what was wrong with it. Told me the part they thought might be wrong with it is backlogged for months. But the $250 part they could get tomorrow. But they couldn't put it in for over 2 weeks. And it would cost me $130 for them to come out and tell me that today. I would definitely go with another company highly unprofessional. And I get the pandemic and I get they can't help back logs but it seems like all they want is that service fee they don't care about fixing your appliance. read more

Our experience with D&H Appliance was terrible. Don came out to look at our Bosch microwave. He charged $75 to tell us we needed to replace the timer display for about $400. Bosch contacted D&H with authorization to make the repair under the warranty. The lady who (rarely) answers the phone confirmed that they had received the authorization and that Don would contact us about setting a time for the repair. This was about 4 months ago! Since then, despite countless voicemails practically begging them to complete the repair, or at least to have to courtesy to tell me that they've gone out of business, or no longer repair Bosch products, or whatever, they still have not contacted me. Our Bosch dishwasher had suddenly stopped working. We called around to find a repairman, and after collecting many references, chose D&H on the recommendation of Bosch, and also Fitch Lumber. The man who arrived was the founder of D&H. it took him only a few minutes to diagnose the problem, which was a serious short circuit in the connection box that had been put in when it was installed three years ago. On a bit more than one hour the job was finished and paid for at a very reasonable price. We were very happy with the quality of the job and will always call D&H first, should we have any more appliance repairs. We have no history with D&H, had never met anyone from the company before today, and have been given nothing from them or anyone else for writing this review. Awful experience. They sent a service technician out three times to diagnose the issue with my dishwasher, since they kept losing my paperwork. After two months of waiting to hear back from them, I finally tracked them down. They had no record of anyone coming to my house even though we had paid them already. Waited for 7 weeks for a part to come in. Finally called them and gave them an ultimatum (repair made by X date or forget it). Oddly enough, the part came in the next day... They never called back, even when they say "let me check on that and give you a call right back" Made an appointment for the repair once the part was finally in, I took off work- they never showed up. Made another appointment - again the repair man was a no show. No call either time to say he was tied up and not coming. Horrible customer service. We had the handle come off a GE microwave, and because they are authorized to fix GE, they were called. We were promised a service repair between 9am and 12noon. They said they would call when they were on the way. By 1pm, no one had shown up or called. Also by then, both I and the rental manager where we live called multiple times, with no call back. They just don't care. Avoid these guys like the plague. They DESERVE the F rating given them by the Better Business Bureau!!! read more

Used them back in 90's for a microwave repair with no problems. Used them again to fix dishwasher leak. Took three trips, and all problems fixed with no additional charge. the $65 eval charge was subtracted from repair bill (seems to be common practice of other companies also). read more

I decided not to use D and H appliance based on their website which had multiple mispelled words. In todays day and age those overlooked mistakes can cause businesses to lose money. If your business is not thorough enough to check for mistakes in their website it may lead some consumers to think the same would apply to their service had they chosen to use them. read more

An entire YEAR. We had our ice machine serviced at D&H in the past. They were slow, but eventually got around to us... so we dropped off our ice machine (Sub Zero), and understood that now they primarily do in home and commercial repair jobs, which is fine. They were going to weave it into the schedule and have it back in a week or two. After 3 months of not returning (and eventually not even answering) my calls, I went to see them. We live outside of the service area. No calls, no answers, no machine. It took them a full freaking year to get the ice machine back, and it wasn't even serviced. Awful doesn't describe the service, because there was NO SERVICE. I would never use this company again!! read more

Hugh is knowledgeable, extremely competent, a gentleman and always on time. I've had him fix our Samsung washer, Samsung dryer, SubZero frog, Dacor oven, Whirlpool microwave, and Thermador cooktop. He tells me the least expensive way of doing everything. I consider him like family. He really knows what he's doing! read more

Excellent first contact with phone answering and scheduled visit. Absolutely professional and pleasant repairman came at time promised and was totally knowledgeable about my Wolf oven. D&H is the only company I could find that would mess with the brand of washer I needed repaired. The repairman called at 11:30 Wednesday on his way to the house. I never heard back. Called the office around 4 and they weren't sure if he went, whether he was alive, what his diagnosis was, or when he would be back. They said either he or the secretary would call me Thursday morning. By noon Thursday, I've still heard nothing. I call them again & they just aren't sure about anything and will have to call me Friday because the receptionist with my file is out that day (the one that told me she'd call me that morning). Called cell number that the technician called from on his way there wednesday - no answer and no voicemail option. Texted it- nothing. Tried that several times with same result. Meanwhile, I've lost several CL deals on new washers and still have no idea if mine is fixable or, if so, how much it would be or what is wrong. Needless to say, if they ever do call back, I won't be using them to fix anything- and I hope to hell they left my spare key where I put it, because I don't want them having a key to any of my properties. I definitely wouldn't recommend D&H to anyone. They are the least organized and least professional company I've dealt with in years. I will not be paying the service fee they're going to try to bill me for, because this cannot be considered "service" by any means. read more

It probably is unfair for me to rate their service since they actually never came to servicIe my dryer. That is actually the problem. They were scheduled for a Wednesday afternoon 3-5 service call. They called earlier in the day to say there was a problem and couldn't come, but when my husband didn't answer his phone did not leave a message. When my husband called to find out where they were, the receptionist said it was their policy to not leave a message. I called to speak the owner Hugh who said that isn't our policy, we'll come out Saturday 9-12. They no showed. Very dissappointed in the very poor customer service. read more

After a $175. bill plus the service call and the ice maker is no different, the OWNER tried to tell my wife that it's supposed to work that way. DUH! Nothing but crushed ice. No cubed ice.
