Know what you want before going to a store like this. This store does have the best selection for Fire Arms and Ammunition. I believe the Ammunition is the cheapest in the State of Rhode Island. Knowing the make and model is one thing. knowing the number the D&L web site has for the fire arm you are looking for helps a sales clerk a lot. Before going into this store check out the D&L shooting Supplies Web site and get the number on the web site of the fire arm you are interested in on the web site then when you go into the store, you will be prepared and the sales clerk will be able to help you more. The store in General does things by the book. Although, I knew the make and model, didn't have the number from the D&L Web site of the Fire Arm I wanted. The Sales clerk Michael G 3133 was able to find what it was I was looking for. there are many type of fire arms the make and model I wanted, some with accessories and some without. So, having a model number from the D&L web site of the fire arm are a person wants helps the sales clerk find what you want. Michael G 3133 did a good job in helping me. The sale went well. Also, when I called to pick up the Fire Arm, the Sales clerk told me a person has 30 days to pick up the fire arm. If a person has a blue card it takes 7 days to pick up. Sometimes a person can't always pick up the fire arm on the 7th day, sometimes life gets busy, it is nice to know a person has 30 days. read more

D and L has a knowledgeable staff, great prices, and good selection. I have purchased quite a bit of reloading supplies from them, to which they always have powder and primers. They have your most common caliber and bullet weights in the selection of projectiles. The staff is awesome! They can even explain and educate you on many gun laws for the region to ensure you don't get hemmed up and are always in compliance. So I was going to buy a gun there and the dude on the phone was a complete dick. Attitude from the second he answered the phone. I asked him about the gun I was looking for and he started talking down to me like I was mentally challenged. Then he put me on hold mid sentence. Too bad, I just started getting into guns and am about to build my collection. Just not here anymore. Go to Midstate, they are informative, friendly and genuinely try to help you find your right fit. If I could, I'd give them ZERO stars! Ordered a rifle with an extra magazine, and they charged me for the magazine TWICE! I called them FIVE times to straighten this out, and was told "were going to issue you a refund," but they never did! I can't recommend them--in my book they took money from me, and lied about refunding it, so I'm also filing a complaint with the better business bureau. read more

I've purchased many guns from D&L as well as other stores. While I admit, I've had to do my share of waiting...in their defense, they get really busy. But I've never had a customer service problem at all. They're incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They are able to keep the prices low by selling in volume, and I understand that. And so,the prices really are hard to beat even when using GunBroker and other auction sites to save money. The ammo prices are rock bottom and I've gotten great deals on the guns. This is your one stop shop for all your needs and amazing prices. I've also had good experiences at other shops, but for great deals... this is the place to go. read more

Nice small gun shop. They have an Ok selection of new & used pistols and rifles, but they could use a larger variety of accessories. The ammo prices are very low, so it makes it worth a trip. read more
