This is the type of place you see in every small town that has stood the test of time. It just looks like its been around forever and worthy of a visit by evidence of the locals many pick up trucks lined up out front. Breakfast is a no brainier( that means good) and cheap! Old school coffee cups and plates will bring you back in time ( 60's style my guess). The BBQ is from the old brick pit out back and is served up nice in the chopped BBQ sandwich. Good lunch specials daily. The potato salad could use a over haul in my opinion. Pretty solid little diner spot. Definitely popular with the locals, which is always a good sign. On top of that, there were cops in here eating the morning I stopped in which is another positive indicator for the food, service, etc. Basic southern breakfast was certainly not skimpy on portions. The gravy wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. I liked the hashbrowns a lot. Service was pretty good. The gals were on their feet doing their thing, throwing some gossip back and forth at the counter. Small town good times. One off note: the toilets are located outside on the side of the building. If you wash your hands before you eat, or have to use the toilet (not advised) this may be a little daunting. read more

Great service! Amazing food! Great prices! I had the pot roast plate with baked potato and house salad and every bit of it was good! My husband goes there regularly and he hasn't had anything he didn't like! I would give a 5 for the food and the service. Stopped in as I was passing through Cleveland and this little place is amazing!! The food was exactly what I was hoping for and the service was also fantastic. Stopped here for breakfast and it was great. My bacon was delicious and my eggs cooked exactly right. Hubby had Western Omelette and said it was excellent too. Our coffee was delicious and we are so picky too. Service was wonderful, our waitress stopped by several times. Decor ho hum, not there for that anyway. Great home made ranch! Hot food ! Food and service was great but the dinner it's self was filthy. I was shocked at how dirty the walls floors and the back of the chairs were. I'd recommend this dinner if you can look past the grime. read more

Ate there two times. Brisket was good. The last time different cooks, the bun was burnt, the hot beef was lacking the beef and the mashed potatoes were cold! It will be awhile before we go back. Going to try out The Ranchhand next. It has to beat this place. read more

The food was good. The service was friendly. The bad part was that the restrooms were outside access(like an old gas station style) and had the cleaniness of a port-a-potty and where hot and humid in 90 degree Texas Heat. The hvac system was out for the building and they had only 2 window units barely keeping the dining area cool in 90 degree heat. We where sweating while eating. Ew. Invest in the hvac units, clean up the bathrooms (maybe even have access from the inside), clean up the roof leak stain ceiling tiles, repaint the hvac vents that where rusted, cover the fluorescent light fixture(health/safety hazard by bulb shatter) then this restaurant could be a good local diner and business will boom! It has potential but if your buildings maintenance stays in its founding year (est. 1956) then you guys will have problems. read more

My mom and I were looking for a breakfast place before we started to head to Florida and decided to take a chance on this little diner! Well worth it because t he food was amazing! The pancakes tasted homemade, the bacon was crisp and toasted perfectly, the side platters of egg and sausage were delicious, and it was overall great! Looking at lake houses in Livingston recently, we decided to give the 'local diner' a chance for breakfast. This place is definitely 'local' - I think the entire police and EMS force was there for breakfast. This is about 'home-town' as you can get - the service was wonderful and the food was fantastic. I had the Southern Scramble - biscuits, topped with eggs/sausage, topped with white gravy - with a side of tater tots. I felt like I was back home in rural Louisiana. Food was great and prices reasonable. Made me feel like I was back home at our little diner. Service was quick and food was hot. We had catfish plate and the brisket, I recommend both and top it off with a shake. Place could use new coat of paint and some soap and water. By the looks of it, little has been updated since they opened in 1959. Definitely qualifies as a dive and a local favorite. read more

my husband and i ate lunch there. the waitress was quick and courteous. my husband had ribs, potato salad and coleslaw. he states all was very good. I had smoked sausage baked potato which was very tasty. our only problem was the filthy condition of the entire diner. ceiling tiles were very dirty with at least one that was over a table barely hanging on. tables, chairs, floor was so dirty and unsanitary i can't say i have ever seen a food place in such bad shape. the health inspector cannot be going there at all. went up to pay our bill the cashier was cold and did not speak to us at all. it was very hot in the building with dirty screen back door open. yes flies. equipment could not have been cleaned in years. what we seen is the result of years being unkept. read more

it pains me to write this update. I had hoped that our first return visit was an example of great things to come. Sadly it was not. We have eaten there and ordered take out several times since then and the quality of food has done nothing but go down. Today my hubby went to town to specifically get us lunch from D&M. I wanted the chicken hot wings. I had them on our first return visit and they were good. He had gotten me a to-go order of hot wings a while back that were not very good, and they forgot the ranch & celery, so this time I asked him to remind them to include it. He said he had to remind them 3 times about the ranch and celery. So he got home with our lunch and I had ranch and celery, but instead of hot wings I had BBQ wings. His hamburger was okay, but they forgot his fries. This place is going in the direction of other places that have tried to make it in this location. Unfortunately I don't think the location can be blamed since they're getting a good amount of business. The quality of food and the accuracy of the orders will be their downfall. read more

We stopped here after a ball game in Livingston. Small place that needs to clean their fans and vents. The food was very good. Great burgers and they serve breakfast all day. Milkshakes awesome!! It is really disappointing. They started out so strong, now I don't know what is going on but the service is overly slow. the last time I was in the tables were filthy, one staff member was complaining and unable to keep up. We waited over 20 minutes for someone to take the order another 20 for the food, and as I tried to order some food to bring home with me was told to wait and remind the waitress to come back to take the order and then another 40 minutes. I wish I was joking. If my son hadn't had his heart set on the plate I wouldn't have stayed. Oh and forget a cup of tea I was also told to remind her to bring that. It was not fun. Figuring it was just a one time thing I have been back 2x and it was the same waitress with the same issue and the kitchen staff had less then a happy face. They forgot to make the order. Again it is the only diner in town so if you if you have a problem with them there is really no where else to go. Don't call them on the burnt French Fries or overdone meat, they will it seems find a way to retaliate. Oh yes that 40 minute wait. I had someone meet me there just to validate I wasn't just a complaining customer so she ordered right after me, she didn't have to wait to order and we waited for the completed order together for 40 minutes. You may take the good with the bad, but it is getting to the point where the good is really overshadowed by the bad. My kids and their father haven't been there in a while because he also had a problem there. read more
