The additional eggs was two dollars, and fifty cents, and a small pepsi was two dollars. And fifty cents. No eggs for the salad and no mushrooms for the salad. No fruit on the salad bar. No french dressing rude waitresses. And we had to pay extra ford eggs. Yet when I call them and ask them if it was a full solid bar they said, oh yes, of course. They did say that the salad bar was unlimited. What little or was. Yet, they required you to get a second small plate rather than just give you one large plate to get your food. Places like this should be shut down. Save your money go to mcdonald's at least there. They have eggs in a salad. When my wife informed them that we would not be back to have dinner here ever again. The cook basically, just shrugged your shoulders and said, whatever. It's businesses like this that give the United States a bad name.

None of the food stood out to me, or made me want to go back. There's no wow factor. French fries are crinkle cut and bland so make sure you add seasoning. Mushroom burger was just a flavorless mushroom burger. It was ok. But not worth the 40 minute drive.

It could have been an off day for the kitchen team. I do suspect however that the food quality, and preparation is consistent and it just didn't quite meet what I would consider a four/five. I have travelled quite a bit throughout the world, had some really awful things and some high end, highly rated meals/places. It is simply decorated, and was reasonably clean. The server staff was friendly and effective, no issues with any of that. They even calmly managed to navigate a power outage that occurred, fortunately right after we got our meals delivered. I got a BPT sandwich and fries, and ordered a side of coleslaw. The slaw was actually pretty well done, crispy, just enough sweet to balance with the tang of vinegar. Where they fell off a bit on execution (or product choice) was the BPT. It was more of a fritter (likely frozen) vs. a pounded actual fresh pork tenderloin cut. It was thin, a bit "bready" throughout (not just coating). The bun was a tad bit stale, but they had toasted it as a good move to counter that. My wife got a turkey ranch wrap with fries. The name could easily be changed to ranch and hint of turkey wrap. The turkey prep is small cubes (may or may not be a Sysco bag of cubes type product), and there was simply too much ranch dressing, the cheese and vegetables were lost in a too wet, undisciplined glop inside of a spongy tortilla. It looks okay, but just doesn't hold up in actual eating. I wish them continued success, but I don't think we would be likely to stop again as we pass through the area.

We decided to check it out for breakfast. It was delicious, and we've eaten there a few times since and always have a great experience. We both have been wanting to try some of their lunch specials, but we work and can't get there to check it out. We were off today and decided to go there for lunch because they were having chicken and noodles, and that's one of my favorite meals. It did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals and even ordered seconds to go, so we could have it for dinner. The chicken and noodles came with mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and a roll. You could definitely tell the food was homemade too. Delicious! The Farmhouse Diner isn't a very big restaurant and can get pretty busy. It reminds me of a little country diner where all the local farmers and their wives go to eat breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be going back.

My friend decided on their biscuits and gravy whereas I got pancakes with over-hard eggs and sausage. The woman there is very nice and makes you feel very welcomed. Food was good, pancakes just soaked up the syrup, and the sausage had a good snap to them. Eggs were cooked just right, and it all came out fairly quick. My friend had also gotten a coffee, and when we were done she had asked if he wanted any to-go, which he obliged to, and she put some in a cup for him to take with along with creamer, which I thought was super awesome. You don't see that much anymore where the service is just so polite and thoughtful. As we were about to leave, under the register is where all their pies sit, and I noticed a good looking peanut butter one, so we got two slices to-go as well. She really sold me by mentioning how they also do a banana pie, and to check up on their Facebook for updates and such saying how she posts on there frequently for the diner. I know I definitely will be getting more pie from there next time I'm in the area! The peanut butter pie was more of a whipped filling, so not too overwhelmingly decedent or heavy. The crust was also like a chocolate graham crust, and it really paired well to offset the peanut butter. If you're looking for a cute place to stop by and try, I highly recommend this one. Especially if you like pie!

This is the kind of smalltown restaurant that defines what it means to serve "down home" cooking. This isn't fancy. It's just plain good. While I'm typically more of a burger guy, when I go to a down-home place like Have-A-Bite it's fried chicken I'm looking for and it sure doesn't disappoint here. Yelper Rick G. was a big fan of the tenderloin. As a tenderloin blogger, I trust his opinions there. The basics? Accessibility is surprisingly solid - Metamora can be really hit-and-miss (it's an older, folksy town with the main claim to fame being the Whitewater Canal State Historic Site and an emphasis on old-timey music and antique shops. The front entrance is workable - there's a slight lip at the door. The dining room itself is pretty well laid out and I had no problems. I didn't try the restroom. There's sandwiches here, traditional diner fare, fish/shrimp, appetizers, several dessert options, and more. The fried chicken had it going on. The mashed potatoes were inspired. The people were friendly. Is this the best meal I've ever had? Nah, but it's delicious and definitely a shining jewel in this small town and one of the best options for those who need wheelchair accessibility. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.
