I had a Japanese hair straightening treatment done by Soon and I couldn't be more happy. She was willing to take me even though I was a walk in and the treatment takes four hours to complete. She took her time to explain the process to me even though I had it done previously just to make sure I didn't do any damage to my hair. Been looking for a great haircut close to home on a Single Mom's budget. This place fit the bill perfectly! Phoned ahead to check their hours, was told to come on in, and only had to wait ~ 5 minutes after I arrived. I have a lot of thin, dry, hair & Soon worked a miracle! So long quarantine hair! While I was getting my hair done I watched another hairdresser, Jessica, offer great service to a dad and his son. The salon even has the fun kid cut stations for Littles. I'll bring my teen sons in next time they need their hair cut. Such a great find!! read more

Even though my first visit here was a year ago and I hadn't been back until recently due to work, travel, and laziness, Anita remembered who I was. That alone made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. At the last minute, I asked if she had any other earlier appointments before I came in and she graciously let me in to one of her earlier spots with a couple hours notice. The pricing for a haircut and shampoo was about $20 (without tip, also this price might vary from stylist to stylist), SUPER affordable for a professional women's haircut if you ask me. She was so thoughtful and used a purple shampoo to wash my hair to keep my blonde highlights bright (it actually worked because my friend saw me immediately after my haircut and asked if I recently got highlights--nope, got em 3 months ago!). My hair smelled sooo good. She essentially cut off 3-4 inches of hair and layered it. I loved the way it looked and felt afterwards! Unfortunately I don't really have a before and after picture. I'll make sure to get one next time! The location of this salon is pretty nifty if you're wanting to get your eyebrows, nails, and face done in one go. They do eyebrows, the place next to them does eyebrows and facials, and the other side does nails. Parking is relatively small, so you might have to park a little further away at another store during busy hours. This is a hole-in-the-wall hair salon if you're ever in Shawnee and want to support a local business! read more

They ruined my hair, I wanted a cut, I even showed it to the person who would do it to me, and she told me that SHE COULD DO IT, and the only thing she did was cut my hair, I had to get home to straighten it to test if it would look better, but it's not like that, it took 1 YEAR for my hair to grow, I just wanted them to remove the burned ends a little, and what they did to me was a very bad haircut, it's not even even on the sides read more

What a happy find this was! I was heading to Lenexa for a haircut and was feeling lazy. It was Sunday afternoon, so I was surprised to see this place open. I stopped in and they were not busy. Soon was very friendly and really understood how I wanted my hair. All this and it only cost $14. No more stressing about haircuts, I'll just come here. read more

This was my 2nd visit to the salon. Soon cut my hair both times. The first time, she did as I asked and I really liked it. This time, however, I asked for something a little different, but simple. Showed her a photo as well. I'm trying to grow my hair out from an inverted bob. I wanted the ends trimmed and cut in a way so that it wouldn't flip out. Instead I got more than an inch trimmed and it was very poofy at the bottom. I also had to ask her three times to thin it out. I was very unhappy. Ended up going elsewhere to have it cut more to my liking. read more

I was going here regularly for a nice inexpensive wash and blow dry and was happy, but when I had my hair colored I was not satisfied with the result. I went back to have the stylist fix it a few days later, as it was way too dark, and she charged me again. I was surprised she charged me to fix it, but even more disappointed that it still wasn't what I asked for. I had to go to another salon to correct it. I went there to get hair straightening treatment, and have told Soon about the bad experiences that I had before. I had this treatment before and wanted to get a touch-up for the new hair growth. She kept pulling it very hard and while telling me the section she'll be working -close to the root- but there weren't any mirrors in front of me to see what she's talking about as I was standing next to the receptionist desk. Also, how do you expect some to turn their head to see anything if you're pulling the hair and it's closer to the root. Anyway, after telling her about my previous bad experiences, she said she can't do it, which's fine. but then, changed her mind and I scheduled an appointment in 3 weeks. She contacts me 3 days before appt. and tells me that she'll not do it. But why wait all that time? Also, she complained about me hair being treated before, even though I addressed that w/ her before and she'd be only working on the new hair growth. She then proceed to say that there might be an overlap and since she doesn't know the products prev. used, she won't do it. I gave her the names and their brands that I got from my prev. hair stylist. Running out of excuses , she says that she had encountered some issues before w/ the product that she uses w/ her clients. read more

Great place to get your hair cut. I don't recommend getting any color here due to lack of caring and unwilling to fix any mistakes. But if you want a simple hair cut this is the place to go! read more

Awesome service! I just got married and moved to the area, so needless to say I'm on a budget. Called and they got me right in, plus it was just up the street from my new apartment. Wanted a new cut to start off this new life with some new style and Anita was the best! Gave me a cute new due for just $15. I've gone to my hometown stylist since I was little, but driving back to Indiana just for a hair cut wasn't quite in our cards. I went to D & S salon in August. I stopped by there to get my hair dyed. i had previously went to another salon and they really messed up my hair i thought, I saw a lady named Moon she said she could fix my hair. My natural hair color is brown too make a long story short I ended up being there almost three hours and RED hair. They even tried to dye my eyebrows RED. I called asked for a refund they refused. I would not recommend this place. read more
