Wonderful food truck on woodhaven blvd. Whenever i am in the area i make a stop or even if i have a craving i would make it a destination stop. The go to here is the Italian sausage and pepers. Fresh, flavorful, and grilled to order. Has a great char and the peppers and onions are all cooked on the spot. My go to is the spicey sausage with onions and peppers with hot sauce and bbq. Nice hero bread that is soft to soak up all the juices and matches well with with the sausage that makes a great meal. Other good items here are the meatball hero or the chicken meatball helo. You can tell it's home made and full of flavor. You can get it either with marinara sauce or the ala vodka sauce. My go to would be the meatball hero with ala vodka hero. But D'Angelo's on Woodhaven Boulevard isn't trying to pull any of that grand stuff. It's just an old-school sausage rig parked on the side of the road, smelling like sizzled grease and charred peppers that hit ya even before you even get close to the window. ​I ordered an Italian sausage hero loaded up with peppers and onions. I'm not even kidding, the thing was massive, wrapped in foil like a giant, heavy beautiful brick. The sausage itself had a good, snappy casing and plenty of flavor, and the onions were sweet and greasy in that way that tastes great while you're eating it, but makes you feel kind of depressed about thirty minutes later when you're just sitting around thinking about your life and blew off the gym. The bread was decent a little chewy, but it held the whole sloppy mess together without completely collapsing in your hands. ​The guy working the window wasn't trying to be your best friend or give you some big phony smile, which I actually appreciated. He just handed over the brown paper bag, took the money, and moved on to the next guy. It's not the kind of meal that makes you want to write a poem, but it fills you up with foodie happiness when you're wandering around feeling miserable and hungry. I went to go to my favorite hotdog stand today Dominic's unfortunately they weren't there today. A little further down the road was the sausage truck. It looked pretty good so I stopped by and got a sausage here. It was $14. He cut it in half. It was enough for two people so it was seven dollars a sandwich and it was delicious! Shame on me for not visiting this food truck earlier. This is by far the best food truck for Italian sausage and Philly cheesesteak and only $12 each What a bargain. Everything cooked right in front of you hot and fresh and did I mention the outstanding service the two gentleman in the truck provided. We give this place 4.5 stars. Finally had the chance to stop by and try this food truck. We had their homemade sausage hero which was amazing. Definitely deserves 5 stars. It was on the peppery side which we liked. Also, if you're asian like me, one order is good for sharing. Personally, it would be nicer if they have a recommended/standard sauce for the heroes so you kinda have an idea what kind of flavors you will expect on your first bite. For the Philly cheese steak, it was decent, however, it's just a personal preference, but I'd like to bite into strips of beef instead of minced meat. I love this truck because it's independent individuals making quality, fresh, craft food. I actually get a hot dog more often than a sausage hero, but both are very good. They allegedly use a Sabrett's (skinless) dog just like everyone else, but their dogs are far plumper than you find from most other places and they use a Martin's potato roll. And they're grilled, which I prefer to the boiled dogs from the other truck up the street. When I get a sausage hero (which I just got myself in the mood for), I get it topped with marinara sauce. There's only one negative to this truck. They shut down at around 3:30pm each day and I don't think they're ever there on Sundays or holidays. In my perfect world, they'd be there practically 24 hours a day, so if I had a craving at 11pm, I could get my dog or sausage hero. Like everybody else, they've raised prices - dogs are $4 and I think the hero sandwiches are now $12, but still well worth it. read more

I love D Angelo's. It is a food truck without having the preteniousness of being a food truck. The food is simple and the portions are really big. Every time I order I say to myself I am not going to finish this because of how big it is. Each time I finish it because it is SO good and I end up SO full. I love to get half sweet Italian and half spicy. The bread is out of this world and the onions and peppers are great. Sometimes I wish it was more pepper and less onion but that would never stop me from getting them. The price is pretty reasonable considering the size. I have yet to try a knish but everyone seems to get them. I saw a few guys getting their sausages on a knish instead of bread. I gotta try that one of these times. read more

The smells from this truck should be classified as illegal, illegally awesome that is. So illegal that four police officers stopped by for lunch while I was there. The line was continuous, up to 10 deep but no one seemed to be complaining. For me, I just needed a hot dog. The meat of all meats parts. Who knows what's in a dog and really who cares, we know it's good. This doggie today was covered with just the lovely caramelized onions and peppers. The doggie and the diet coke, $5.00 a no brainer meal on the go. There are usually 2 trucks on Woodhaven Blvd parked within a block of each other. I won't mention the other truck name in this review, but it was missing from the block today. The other competitor missing is probably why the lines were so long. D'Angelos has sausage (hot and sweet) heros, hot dogs and cheesesteaks. The guys in the truck are friendly and happy to fix your food with the condiments of your choice. Upon arrival you will notice a bunch of cars parked leading up to the truck, patrons usually scarfing down their sausage hero's or taking them to go. There are two younger (30 something year old) Italian guys with impeccable eyebrows running this truck. They are nice, patient and efficient time and time again. This truck gets packed during lunch-for good reason! The hero bread they use is perfect. The hot sausage is my fav so are the hot dogs and knishes! I always get extra mustard and onions and peppers in my knish...bangin'...I also saw they make a stuffed knish w/sausage &peppers that I must try one day! I mean come on...it's all the deliciousness I love combined in one! Tip: Grab a menu and call it in a few min ahead (esp if you are ordering a few things) so you don't have to wait as long when they arrive. It is a food truck on the side of the road, you have to eat at home or eat in your car but it's completely worth it. Street parking is very convenient, but mind you the truck is right in front of the cemetery, so pay no mind lol The food: Spicy sausage and peppers- I did think the $9 was on the high side but it is probably one of the best sausage and peppers I ever had. The sausage had a little heat, a perfect snap, perfectly cooked onions and peppers all on top of a nice crusty Italian roll. The sausage was bursting with fennel and had a nice pork texture that wasn't too fine, I also really liked the outside char. The sandwich is gigantic so sharing might be recommended. read more

I have been working across the street from this truck for a very long time. Let me tell you, I go only a few times a year, not because it is not good but because I would roll back to work if I ate from the truck more often! The sausage and pepper heroes are outrageous. The bread is fresh and the perfect consistency to hold up to the generous portion of perfectly cooked peppers and onions. I only eat sweet sausage so I can only rate those, top notch. I have even had them get me a box of them for a block party. The lines are always long. Not too long ago they expanded the menu, must try. The service is friendly. One of the benefits they offer is you can call them so your order is ready. On one occasion I got there on the late side and they gave me the last hero and told me about this convenience.
