I finally tried Nick's Pizza for the first time and I must say that I am hooked. The restaurant was packed when we arrived on a Friday night, but thankfully did not have to wait as we didn't need a booth. We ordered a large pie with pepperoni and a calzone with sausage. Both items came out together like we asked and was far too much food for two. My first bite of the pizza was hot, crunchy, and delicious. I love fresh oven pizzas with a crispy bottom crust. The chefs did an amazing job cooking it just right. I also loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. It really elevated the pizza to another level. The crust was great all around with a slight oven char. Lastly the calzone took me by surprise as it had no sauce and was filled with ricotta cheese as opposed to mozzarella. It came with a small cup of hot marinara sauce for dipping/pouring. It was definitely an interesting calzone but don't think it was worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and Nick's and would highly recommend it. I do wish the pricing was a bit more fair when it came to full vs half pie toppings as well as the calzone. read more

I have to say that I hardly review businesses in this neighborhood because I live in the area and I always fear writing a review is too premature if I'm going to be a customer in the long-run, but I really have to give Nick his flowers, especially for a recent visit. My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years. read more

This was one of the best new pizzerias in NYC, opening to great accolades from various publications. Being a poor kid in Junior High School working for a mere $3.75/hr across the street at the corner Baskin Robins (RIP) did not give me the opportunity for quite some time. Anyway, fast forward 5 years and I finally had the chance with a few friends to experience what many called the best pizza in Queens, and I was very impressed. This became my regular "fancy" pizza shop of choice. What I loved most about it was the crispy and charred thin crust. It adds so much to the overall taste and enjoyment. The sauce was deliciously tangy and the fresh mozzarella made it a level above everything else in the neighborhood. One word of warning, the pizza could get a little soggy in the center if too many toppings are ordered. I usually choose none or no more than two. Also noteworthy is their yummy calzones. My personal favorite combination is sausage and spinach. Mixed with all that oozing ricotta and dipped in some tomato sauce, that is one great bite. Lastly, I like most of their salads too. Their food has been a staple in my diet for most of my adult life. Decades go by, and out of nowhere, I hear the news that Nick's had burned down. What a loss for our community! What a loss personally! Thankfully, they are back and feeling every bit like the original. Food is as good as before, while the decor and service has always been on point. An absolute gem of a spot with wonderful people working here. Great friendly service that really welcome you and makes you feel as one of the family. Been going to Nicks for years, before and after their renovation. The must get here are the large pies with any favorite topping. As the toppings are all fresh high quality ingredients. We love the sausage, meatball, mushroom, and spinach pie. Crisp chewy crust with a nice char. It's great that it isn't soggy with the spinach as other places have failed at. You can't go wrong with the pies here they are wonderful and deliscious. End the meal with a cannoli as the pistachio and filling make for a nice cannoli with a shell that reminds us of a ice cream cone. I was recommended this place by a friend of mine who said it was her favorite spot for pizza and that their cannoli was to die for... I understand both of those statements for sure now. The pizzas do NOT come in slices, so bring your appetite or someone to share with because these are big pizzas. They're made to order, thin, crispy, fresh and delicious - and the cannoli was like no other, truly a perfect dessert. Finally after 2 long years of not being able to have Nicks Pizza again ! They were closed because of a fire which is heartbreaking for such a great and successful business. My kids and I enjoyed coming to Nicks and sharing a pizza . Always freshly made always delicious. When I saw on social media they opened again my daughter and I had to go . We parked close (yes lucky) and as we entered we saw how busy they were and it was great to see they deserve it . John who makes pizza greets guests serves pizza and runs around is always there and always smiling and making everyone feel welcome . We got a large pizza with extra basil . Still yummy after all these years! In the Forest Hills neighborhood, we were devastated by the fire and closure of Nick's Pizza over 2 years ago. We are thrilled that it has reopened. Greeted by John we saw our favorite place has been restored from the fire to its original, warm, fun place. The pizza is so good- maybe better than before. We had 2 grandma pies- one with artichokes and pepperoni, the other with hot peppers and sausage- OMG! Wonderful. The pizza is great, and the staff is just as important to us. We got three pizzas and they were so flexible with our requests- for example, they happily made us a half white, half tomato pizza. There are such a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Seriously the best calzone I have ever eaten! We went last night and had an incredible meal. The salads were all fresh with delicious homemade dressings. The three pizzas we ate had the most perfect thin crust with so many different toppings - my favorite being the white pizza with extra garlic and spinach. They have been here for a while and I think I was here years ago but I didn't remember the experience. It's a decent sized seating area and they have some outdoor options as well right out front of the store. The owners and folks that work here are super polite and nice. I ordered this time for a to go order and he came out and personally thanked me for the business. That hasn't happened to me in a very long time. The pizza is also amazing. You can't get it by the slice but you can go half/half options. It seems to be cooked to the perfect temperature and time. Even the trip from the restaurant to back home, the pizza held up perfectly. They have outdoor seating, benches with umbrellas since the pandemic which is great. They were packed at Friday night dinner and did their best to respond to the crowds. I shared a large plain pizza with a friend knowing there be would be some to go. My montepulciano d'abruzzo tasted off so I got the French rose instead and it was perfect on a humid evening. The pizza is the star of this show with all fresh ingredients, basil from the garden, homemade sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. I hoped for more cheese on the pizza but it's gourmet and I'll go for the cheesy pizza at NYC pizza parlors. This place is a restaurant. Ample beer selection. The pizza is amazing! Thin crust, perfectly crispy, topped with the right amount of cheese. Our favorite is the white. We get a large pie and finish almost the whole thing each (2 of us), leaving just 1 slice because we are so stuffed but just can't stop eating it-it's sooooo good, then an hour later that final slice is gone! Pizza wasn't crisp like usual. I understand it was close to closing time. I ordered via door dash which I won't do again. $40 for a large pie because of door dash prices. Normally it would be $24 plus tax. $ 40 is a stretch. I will definitely dine in again but I will not order in. I hope they either get their own delivery drivers or partner with another delivery service that is more reasonable. read more
