This was a great find on our way through town. Food was excellent. Eggs Benedict were great and the hollandaise was one of the best I've had. Chocolate gravy reminded me of my Mema's. Huevos Omelet was so flavorful and you can never go wrong with the short stack; pancakes had a crispy edge which is always a bonus and the amount of food was incredible. Fantastic food, clean facilities, and great conversation! Mom and I stopped through on our way out of town and wanted an easy, to-go breakfast. After looking through the menu, the lady who took my order recommended the waffle BLFGT as "to-go-able." What is the BLFGT, you ask? Well at D'Cracked Egg, it's a fantastic BLT with a twist- instead of regular tomatoes, it's made with fried green tomatoes, sandwiched between two triangle waffle pieces, and topped with a maple aioli that's sweet with a little heat. Tater tots came on the side, and it was all so delicious and hot. The food took a few minutes to prepare, and while I waited, the owner of the restaurant came out and talked to me for a while. They just had their 1 year anniversary of being open, and I'm hoping they'll be open for MANY years to come. Definitely would go back to Tupelo just for this sandwich. read more

my order was brought out incorrectly twice and multiple sides were forgotten. 2/3 orders were incorrect. The people were very pleasant but the service has room for a lot of improvement. The music and atmosphere did not match the costumers they were serving. the music was mainly rap (not that rap isn't amazing) and a large portion of the costumers were middle aged to older people. The food was a meh, not the best, bacon was good but the eggs were a little watery and the biscuits were grainy. Had to request napkins no less than four times. First customers to order after they opened. It took awhile but they brought my husband's blt and he said it was good. He finished his meal before they brought mine. I ordered the egg salad with no cheese. They brought me a salad with cheese and no egg. When I asked where is the egg the waitress said she didn't think I wanted any. Nice little place in downtown Tupelo. If you haven't been to Tupelo in awhile, they have done a lot of work to revive downtown and this restaurant is one shining example of the types of boutique businesses moving in there. The food was decent. My eggs Benedict was over cooked and hard in the center and they used cheap thin sandwich ham instead of a real ham slice and my partner was disappointed with the size of the waffle breakfast for $13+. Service was okay but it took forever to get our food with only a couple tables on a Wednesday late morning and we waited almost 15 minutes after finishing our meal before walking to the register and asking to pay. We really wanted the fried green tomatoes and chicken and waffles but we're not made aware that their fryer system was down and only griddle items were available when we were seated. We had already gotten drinks otherwise we would have left because they had none of the items we actually came in for. We rarely eat out and we're just passing through on our way to Pensacola so we were splurging looking for a good southern breakfast. The other thing that really upset me was all the prices we were charged were at least $1 more than on the menu but I didn't know that because the gal never brought our receipt and when I went to pay she just gave me a total without a receipt. I didn't realize the discrepancy on pricing until after I asked for a receipt after paying. Overall I can't recommend this place though the location is nice in the heart of downtown. read more

Had high hopes from reviews. Food sounds good but wouldn't know. took 45 minutes to get food and then it was awful. Biscuits hard and cold, gravy cold (good flavor but cold) , cheese grits are just grits with shredded cheese (cold) on top and the eggs were cooked next to chorizo so not only were they cold, greasy and spicy, but it had to be the smallest egg ever. would have been two bites if it was edible. My husband's chorizo omelette was almost all chorizo grease with very little chorizo and hardly any avocado. When I returned my meal, she said she was going to take it off and then when they brought the bill, she did not have an itemized receipt to show me and I ended up paying for the meal except that she did take off the biscuits. I only know this because I did ask the head person there why the bill was so much and it was because she still charged us for the eggs and the cheese grits because she said that wasn't their fault.
