It's been about a month since our wedding, and I'm still on cloud 9! Our wedding occurred at Gloria's (head chef) breathtaking private property. Claudia and Wiebke, from the first day, walked me through every detail with patience and consideration. The venue offered a bridal suite and a space for a few people from the bridal or groom's party to chill out before the ceremony. I appreciated that they set up a tasting for us where we were able to discuss the menu with Gloria at length. My guests had a lot of dietary restrictions, and Gloria was creative with suggesting items that provided a variety of things for everyone to eat. The food was also delicious! Absolutely amazing. Gloria was wonderful wonderful wonderful. Not only is she sweet and extremely helpful, she's willing to work to fit your budget. Most companies offer to do so, but she really came through. And the food was INCREDIBLE! Plus, FANTASTIC service. I recently got married May 1st. I planned my own wedding and was finding catering to be the most stressful until I came across these people. Their lead chef Gloria happened to be a customer at the Starbucks I work for and she gave me her business card. It turned out that the university near my store uses their company frequently and my pastor's wife has used her services for many occasions. Both of them only had WONDERFUL things to say. I explained to her my budget and she helped me create the perfect menu for us. The food was EXCELLENT. I've been getting compliment after compliment about how wonderful it was. We decided to go with an Italian buffet with two types of salad, roasted chicken and several pastas with different sauces. They handled the settings, linens and centerpieces as well. All of it was more beautiful than I had originally imagined it could be. Set up was done on time, and clean up went perfectly. The servers were helpful and always around when you needed them. ALSO, they were completely willing to help with all last minute questions/additions and issues I had. GLORIA IS AN ANGEL ON EARTH! I manage an educational startup in Sunnyvale called Interview Kickstart. We used to use UberEats to feed our students until we met Gloria. For the last two weeks, I planned a special lunch in celebration of Administrative Professionals Day. The florist had delivered beautiful arrangements, the Executive staff had cleared their calendars and it was getting close to the noon hour - - "where's the caterer?" "I'm sure they are on the way - - I better call to make sure they are not lost." I contact Elizabeth - "Just checking to see if the driver is lost?" "Who is this???" "What company???" "Let me check, I'll call you back" Well it was all bad after that - The front office failed to communicate my lunch order for 50 people to the kitchen and my selection of Chicken & Ribs with all the fixing had not been prepared. Elizabeth called back to say that they would bring lunch in about an hour at no charge. To their credit, they tried to make good however what Gloria (the owner) brought was an embarrassment. I'm guessing it was whatever they happen to scrounge around in the kitchen. Mystery chicken breast in a green sauce, salad out of a bag, assorted veggies, rice and cookies. I was mortified. Sorry it's a bit long and detailed. This review is a few months late. Oops.. and since I am going to be using Catering for all Occasions again.. I thought I should write a review to show everyone how much I love them! I discovered Catering for all Occasions at my friends wedding. The food was so yummy!!! i took my then bf and he loved all the food. Let me tell you a little about this man. He is ALWAYS hungry. I am not kidding- he eats every 3 hours. So typically you go to weddings and you get super fancy pants food and leave the wedding after dinner drinks and dancing and head straight to any place that is open cause you are HUNGRY. That was so not the case here. My bf was actually full and happy!! So a year later when we got engaged, he proclaimed he would be very much involved in picking the food. Um no surprise there. He immediately asked for the info on "that really good caterer at my friends wedding" and so Gloria and Catering for all occasions came to be our caterer. So now you are thinking what kind of critique is a m,an who is always hungry - he probably eats anything. WELL.. enter my mom aka MOB. SHE LOVED the food! she was so happy and let me tell you this woman will knit pick other people's cooking- because my mom is the best cook on the planet. Especially when it comes to Mexican food which is what we served at our wedding. To this day she has not complained once about our food choice .. and even thrown a few compliments around about how amazing the food was! On to the guests: One guest said we had the most amazing appetizers ever!!! Seriously we only had fresh fruit (cucumbers, jicama, pineapple..etc) served with powdered chile and lemons. However it was amazing bc it went well with the Mexican theme and was presented very nicely! A few other guests called me to ask for the caterers info and have since used them for their corporate events. Did i mention HANDMADE tortillas made onsite!!!! Seriously I love Gloria and her team. Now here is the best part- which helped me so much!! I asked Gloria if her team could help set up my entire venue for both the onsite ceremony and the reception. She said no problem ( i added on 2 extra servers to help with this bc I didn't want them to feel short staffed and I always love having extra hands rather than not enough). Read here- do not skimp on staff ever to cut costs!! that is my 5cents worth.. anyways... They did an amazing job setting up our ceremony site--We had an infinity circle which was really complicated and time consuming. then set up our reception area beautifully!!! And they still went above and beyond... Our cake was delivered and the cake delivery people set our cake In May 2012 88 degrees or so in the SUN!!!!! and left. Please note we had specifically asked them to set it on the table under the shade close to the door.. BUT no in the middle of the lawn area on a table in the sun. Someone ran over to tell me ( I was already there touching up and getting ready for onsite portraits ahead of the ceremony) and as I walked over to ask the caterers if they could please move the cake.. i was thrilled to see they had noticed and moved the cake immediately!! Gloria and her team did an amazing job for our wedding this past Saturday. My husband (fiancé at the time) and I sent them so many emails to ask questions and make updates and they were always responsive and made the updates immediately. Our positive experience started off with the food tasting. We tried different dishes and they were all delicious. We set up a preliminary menu and updated from there. For the event we had arepas, yucca fries, fresh fruit, and chips and salsa for our cocktail hour. For our entrees we went with the harvest salad, pork roasted in plantain leaves with mango salsa, poblano chicken (guest favorite), black beans, plantains, and homemade tortillas. The tortillas were a total hit and our guest loved them. The special touch was that later in the evening we had fresh quesadillas for our guest. They absolutely loved this!! After a few drinks and a ton of dancing they all told us that the quesadillas hit the spot. We received so many compliments on the food. One of out friends is a chef and he told us that this was the best food he had ever had at a wedding. That was a huge compliment because he can be a little picky. We also worked with Claudia for the flowers and all our rentals. There was an issue that morning with my bouquet, but Claudia was honest and made me a new bouquet which was delivered to me before my pictures. At this point we were just going for some free food and didn't even think we were really going to cater. But as soon as we got to the taste testing we were treated with so much respect and the food was AMAZING!! Lol I actually had my check book ready to leave a deposit. Once we got home we got in contact with Claudia and planned out what we wanted... Not to mention we changed it over 10 times even the day before the party lol. (We were difficult customers) but she was so accommodating. On the day of the party Claudia came hours before to help us set up. I hired this catering company for my wedding- with a wedding location all the way up in Tiburon in Marin County. The food was amazing- they even made a vegan, gluten free Chile Relleno. They brought up a woman to make fresh tortillas throughout the dinner, and the aguas frescas they made were some of the best I have ever had. Everyone was raving about the food, and even my little 96 yo grandmother wanted 3rds. We went all mexican, with a chipotle salad, cups of veggie and fruit slices, spanish rice, black beans, salsas... they brought everything, plates, silverware, and even champagne glasses. I'm really glad that we were encouraged to work with this vendor because they really helped make our wedding amazing. I'll start by giving individual reviews of the people I worked with from Catering for All Occasions... Pascual was the first person to reach out to me when I contacted this company. He didn't make promises he couldn't keep, but was willing to work with our budget. Although the company does not offer individual tasting sessions, I promise you will get a good sense of what they have to offer during their group tasting events. We stuck around after the tasting and Pascual made sure to answer all our questions before we left. Claudia joined us the day of our walk through at the reception venue. We also had a follow up visit at the Santa Clara office to make sure the linens and set-up were perfect. I really appreciated her willingness to meet with me on a non-business day. Her help and reassurance the days before the wedding really meant a lot to me. She was sincere and by the end of the meeting felt like family. Gloria is the chef and is very talented. I had some specific requests when it came to the menu. She even whipped something up for me a few days after the group tasting to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. Gloria- I got sooooo many compliments on the Poblano stuffed chicken! Thank you for going above and beyond to meet my food expectations! During the wedding Gloria came up to me to make sure everything was okay which I really thought was special! The FOOD!!! ALL my guests said the food was delicious! During cocktail hour we had an assortment of cheese, crackers, and Mexican style fruit (limes and Tajin included). We elected to go with a sit down dinner versus buffet. I got the impression that this caterer's forte is buffet style events; however they executed a sit down dinner very well. The Mediterranean salad was a very refreshing start to the meal. We had 3 options for our guests main course 1.) duet platter Poblano stuffed chicken (guest favorite!) and Filet Mignon with Chimichurri sauce 2.) Chipotle Salmon with Pineapple Salsa 3.) Stuffed Bell Pepper. Sides were Peruvian mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. We also had a "late-night snack"- FRESH made quesadillas (tortillas were homemade) and BBQ pork. Maria and group did an EXCELLENT job of coordinating my company's holiday dinner. I got a late start on planning the event (three weeks prior) but luckily CFAO was able to take our large group. I believe the receptionists name was Elizabeth(?) was really easy to work with, responded to emails in a timely manner, and gave me different price packages to work with. Maria, the head chef, offered menu suggestions that fit our group well. I appreciated that because most catering companies wont stray from their pre fixed holiday menu. Any last minute changes that I needed to make leading up to the event (head count, menu changes, adding tables/linens) were also taken without hesitation. The day of our event the serving staff went above and beyond my expectations. They arrived early, rolled THEIR silverware in OUR napkins, cut and plated the desserts WE brought, and brought complimentary pitchers of lemonade. Impressive, to say the least. I have been planning my son's first communion for an entire year. I researched all my options to death. When I yelped I was sceptical of all the great reviews but looked foward to finding out how authentic they could be. As a Mexican-American, I am picky as heck on my mexican food! My family is first and second generation so I had to put a lot of work in finding the right caterer for my son's reception. My son's father's family was another worry! I haven't seen them since our son was baptized nearly seven years ago. They don't like me, so I knew I was going to be on the hot plate that day. Five stars!!! Gloria and her team were fantastic and the food.....AUTHENTIC!!!! Everyone was impressed by EVERYTHING! The chicken was moist, the barbacoa was juicy, rice was tasty, beans were seasoned right, salsas were mild and hot, salad was fresh, mac and cheese was creamy, chicken tenders were moist and crispy, the extra's were finely cut, and the homemade toritillas - EXCELLENT! I am somewhat of a high maintenance person. A worry wart. Type A, etc. I must have called or emailed Elizabeth 100 times. She got back to me the same day every time. I even changed my order a week before the event as I worried about appetizers. The guacamole with chips and fruit were no problem. They were a hit! They worked with my budget and they allowed me a do-able payment plan up to the week before the event. It was so nice to make monthly payments! As many mexicans don't necessary understand RSVP or at least in my circle of family and friends, they helped me come up with a great and flexible estimate. It was a true relief when they would assure me that there would be food for everyone. As I was confused on how I would know who would eat what and how much, etc. So the day of the event. I walked in to the reception hall at Campbell Community Center. The tables, chairs, waiters, food set up, etc were all there. KUDOS to the person in charge of the decoration and set up! She was fantastic too. (her name escaped me, sorry). It looked as good as the food tasted. The waiters were fabulous as my son's father was acting like he paid for it. I just let the head waiter know, she needed to go with the flow as this was about my son. They were all professional and attentive to all of us. At the end of the day. No one was hungry! I even had food left over that they packed up for me at the end of the day. When I walked away from the hall and went home. My son's father gave me a compliment, my mother gave me a compliment, and my guests gave me a sincere thank you. My son.... "Mami! Thank you! Their professionalism is viable in every aspect, such us coordinating your event, food tasting, the great enthusiasm that is given to every single one in your celebration, such us family reunions, baptism, confirmations, weddings, Quinceañeras, graduations, corporate meetings, etc. In my experience I was able to coordinate an event with Catering for all Occasions for more than 1000 people in the San Jose State University Event Center for Chicano Commencement Class of 2013. Gloria and all her team were amazing during the event, they were able to served our 1000 guest in 30 minutes. The most important aspect in my position was timing and since they are very professional they had everything under control, which made our event a success.
