Oh, D'Jais. A Belmar icon. I've tried so many times to like it but to me, the only thing likable is the location. We dined outside because the inside was having a thing and there were no tables for us. It was 90-something degrees outside but hey, we wanted to be served. The drinks were watered down. The oysters were warm & NOT on a bed of ice. Our server, bless her heart, said the kitchen is open so things warm up quickly. Hence, it should've been on a bed of ice. And the cocktail shrimp, although impressively large, weren't that cold either. Our server was sweet but I didn't like having to search for her most of the time. And lastly, and this is only an issue for me, the barstool were too high for someone 5'.

Jersey Shore weekend vibes are great here. More of a daytime bar with some ovcassional fun weekday events. The crowd is more 30s-40s I would say and very jersey looking all around. Cash would help here. Can often get in without paying the fee.

An ass hole security guy

Seen videos on social media. The staff is incredibly rude. The bouncers and security power trip. Will absolutely never try going to this location or any others after how I see how the staff treats their customers. They even harass the guy for being on the side walk. I wish I could give negative stars. The vibe looks terrible because you've filled the place with low quality people as employees.

Pizza & hot dog

Ordered pizza & hot dog. It was unpleasant. Stuff forgot about my pizza, so I had to wait 10 minutes more for my pizza. After this it comes cold! Not recommend! Try to find a better place to have lunch or dinner.

Tex Mex Burger

Great music, lots of throwbacks. Amazing vibes all night long. Got a tex mex burger before I went home and it was the icing on the cake. Great food, loved the jalapeños Music not good on weekends. A lot better during the week

Crispy calamari

My understanding is that this place tends to get insanely packed during the evening hours with people old enough to be my offsprings. So being of sound mind we came here for a couple of drinks in the afternoon, while the revelers were still sleeping off the previous nights buzz. The staff were friendly and courteous, our waitress was very attentive. My wife's drink was well made and had the proper portions of booze to mix. My only complaint was the crispy calamari. While the cephalopod was crispy, it was rather rubbery. Not sure I would visit during the evening. At my age I can't afford all that excitement.

Their tip cup..not they even deserve one.

Average...not sure why rusty call it a bar n grill. It's more like a dance club. The bartenders were rude., too noisy. And not receptive or friendly. I guess the bartender though she was too cute to work, on her phone most of the time. Service was terrible...burger was a frozen Pattie. I work in the food industry for many years and train ppl in customer service. A guy across from me was waiting more the. 20 min sites to get served. They didn't even notice him until I did. Once they noticed I was more aware then the server...they stared to asks him if he needed anything else. Not even a drink...smh!! I pride my self and those that o train for provide excellent customer service. She place just has a much of self entitled youths running it- no management that I could observe. Such a shame because it's right across from the beach. But with the lack of service it may have been in a alley. Definitely will not go here again.

When I walked into the restaurant, there were 6 people standing ahead of us at the hostess stand. Tables were emptying out but no one even acknowledged our existence for - no exaggeration- 15 minutes. We made conversation with the people around us that it was almost comical that no one even said they'd be with us in a moment. It was odd and we almost left and walked to The Buttered Biscuit down the street, but we stuck it out. Once we were seated we were given a tiny placard to scan the menu with our phones. Service after being seated was surprisingly consistent after our long wait time to be seated with no acknowledgment from staff. I have a gluten allergy and the online menu did not have specific information showing what was GF or GFA. When I asked the sever about it she rattled off some GF options but of course I couldn't remember all of them, having them marked on the menu would be so helpful. I ordered the Birria Omelette but chose to have the tortilla strips on the side since they were in a shared fryer. The dressing for the side salad was light and tangy. The omelette was supposed to be French style but wasn't creamy in the middle. Birria meat was tender and kind of overwhelmed the overall taste of the omelette. I also had an iced decaf mocha latte and it was good, not too sweet and pretty much coffee flavored chocolate milk. My dining companion had the classic French toast, which looked delicious and he really enjoyed it but I didn't taste it because "gluten." Ambiance is really nice, tables are well spaced and the restaurant is well decorated. Not sure if I'll be back but glad I tried it!

The hotel is beautiful and it felt like every single piece of furniture and decorations were chosen intentionally. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the phenomenal, friendly and attentive service from manager Emily. Truly a gem of a person, and made sure everything we needed was available. Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. If you're looking for a quick vacation out of this city, this is the place, so easy to get to, the town has wonderful restaurants/bars and the beach was beautiful (even if it was too cold to hang out). I'm all for minimalism but there needs to be functionality behind it. As for breakfast; more gluten free options please! And the soft boiled eggs we chose were either cooked too hard or way undercooked. The yogurt and fruit was delicious! Our server was great.

I ordered a Shrimp Po' Boy and it was by far the best Po'Boy I have had outside of New Orleans, and might have even been better than the one I had there too. My daughter ordered the Fish and Chips, which she loved despite it being her first time trying it. The interior has that "hole in the wall" vibe with just a few tables and a few stools at the counter. The food is being made just feet away from wear you're sitting and it creates a homey vibe. The locals seem to love the place as several stopped in to either eat or chat with the two women working. I do believe they have outdoor seating at picnic tables. Overall, this place is an absolute gem and i'll definitely be back when we return to Belmar, NJ.

It's cash only or Venmo, which I find its pretty normal for smaller local spots. The thing about this location was that it reminded me of Maine, the walls are painted this beautifully brilliant blue with nautical inspired decor. My favorite was the fishies above a fishing boat, which I had to take a snap of. I ordered 3 eggs over medium, with rye, and a side of bacon. The eggs were still a bit too runny, but its a standard breakfast. I want to go back and to sit there because the staff were super nice. If I lived closer then I'd prolly be here all the time. I saw a reviewer complain about the sign showing open, but they weren't. Honestly businesses making that mistake all the time, but to point it out is just whatever. Highly recommend stopping by here early because I have a feeling they're super busy with the locals.
