I was physically assaulted by staff at the entrance on July 4th, 2026 around 12:50 AM. There was no visible sign or clear indication of a cover charge, and the two women at the door were not identifiable as employees. As I walked in, one of them suddenly grabbed my arm forcefully and began yelling at me about a cover charge. The interaction was aggressive and completely unnecessary, especially given that I was calm and sober. When my sister attempted to take a photo of the situation, security intervened and grabbed her as well. This experience was upsetting and unprofessional. No guest should be physically handled or spoken to this way. Management needs to address how staff interact with customers and ensure situations like this are handled appropriately. read more

Probably the only restaurant that was casual and fulfilled what we were looking for. We sat outside and had a great view of the beach. Service was good and drinks came pretty quickly. Also decently priced as well. Food is good as well - fish sandwich was pretty awesome and I enjoyed my clam sandwich. Fries needed salt. read more

Came here for a quick drink and food before we went to the beach. Our server was nice and kind but annoying that the happy hour is only inside and there are no prices on the menu. We ended up getting some margaritas ($14) and beers ($7 - 8) which were good! We also tried the fish sandwich which was also very tasty. That being said, many people seem to have complaints about the nightlife for this venue which we did not experience. We are only commenting on the food! read more

Oh, D'Jais. A Belmar icon. I've tried so many times to like it but to me, the only thing likable is the location. We dined outside because the inside was having a thing and there were no tables for us. It was 90-something degrees outside but hey, we wanted to be served. The drinks were watered down. The oysters were warm & NOT on a bed of ice. Our server, bless her heart, said the kitchen is open so things warm up quickly. Hence, it should've been on a bed of ice. And the cocktail shrimp, although impressively large, weren't that cold either. Our server was sweet but I didn't like having to search for her most of the time. And lastly, and this is only an issue for me, the barstool were too high for someone 5'. read more

Went for lunch, sat outside, right across the street from the beach. It was ok, nothing special. Then went on a Sat. night, but didn't bother to go inside, left quickly. Long line, plus a cover charge, and got the feeling if you were looking for a fight, you came to the right place. What a scam. Went on Labor Day weekend. It is $20 for men to enter the building, and $10 for men. However, they have a strict dress code that I was unaware about (a dress code? This is a bar on a beach...). The bouncer didn't let me in because I had sweatpants on (am a man). However, immediately after this, a gentleman a foot taller than me grabbed me by the shoulder, and with his alcohol ridden breath, riddled in my ear that I could get by the dress code by slipping the bouncer $40 when he checked my ID. I politely told him that I don't think that is worth it, and I don't like to be taken advantage of. I immediately left. Also, the parking was $10. All in all, I would have had to pay $70 to be able to enter a building for the possibility of having the opportunity to speak with another person. Yeah, talk about a scam. I think the dress code is nonsense, it is just there for their ability to pick out who they do not want to enter the bar. It would not surprise me that the gentleman who grabbed my shoulder is friends with the bouncer. I will never be visiting this place again. Known for the bar and the late night party this place turns into. We stopped by for lunch over the weekend and the food was horrible. Got calamari, spin artichoke dip, and Buffalo chicken wrap. The calamari seemed to be something entirely different and just overly fried and rubbery. The dip was decent but more watery than I prefer. It came with pita chips which was a cool addition. Buffalo wrap was also mediocre, only finished had of it as if needs more flavor and sauce. Chicken also seemed unseasoned. I'll stick to coming here just for drinks! read more

Nice atmosphere across the street from the beach. Live fun music. The food was just ok. Long wait. My husband's chicken sandwich was tough and cold, sweet potato fries were cold. My chicken wrap was fine but the fries were not cooked enough. Waitress was very nice and took the chicken meal off of the bill. read more

PROS: This place was very large compared to other options at the shore. The people were friendly, the menu was plentiful, prices were accurate, and once we ordered the food it was quick to come. They have an indoor and outdoor area and a place to host a party. Close to the beach you can easily walk there. CONS: I ordered pizza and it came to me as if it was preheated in a microwave, as seen in my pictures. Also, it took the waitress 30 minutes to take our order. Also there aren't any physical menus, you have to scan a QR code and have them pop up on your phone. OVERALL: Nice place to eat but they cut corners to frequent. My understanding is that this place tends to get insanely packed during the evening hours with people old enough to be my offsprings. So being of sound mind we came here for a couple of drinks in the afternoon, while the revelers were still sleeping off the previous nights buzz. The staff were friendly and courteous, our waitress was very attentive. My wife's drink was well made and had the proper portions of booze to mix. My only complaint was the crispy calamari. While the cephalopod was crispy, it was rather rubbery. Not sure I would visit during the evening. At my age I can't afford all that excitement. read more

The bouncers are completely disrespectful jerks and I'm surprised the place is still in business. I wasn't even under the influence when a complete injustice occurred at their main bar. I went here with some friends. And I'm a nice dude, slightly above average handsome, nothing crazy. I'm in the front of the dance floor, really having a great time, and things look too good to be true when one of the male bald bouncers invites me up on stage for a tee shirt and hat. Delighted, I jump on stage. The second I get onstage, the same bouncer shoved me off stage aggressively. The guy must have been dying to shove someone, because this was a hard push and completely deceiving at no fault of my own. Amidst confusion and distrust, I land back on the dance floor, and he tells me to go away. A highly confusing reaction given i was encouraged by the emcee to "dance for a teeshirt". Shockingly and frankly appalled, I walk away. I've lived near this bar for 15 years, and after this abusive behavior, I will never find myself in this lawless and egotistical establishment again. Average...not sure why rusty call it a bar n grill. It's more like a dance club. The bartenders were rude., too noisy. And not receptive or friendly. I guess the bartender though she was too cute to work, on her phone most of the time. Service was terrible...burger was a frozen Pattie. I work in the food industry for many years and train ppl in customer service. A guy across from me was waiting more the. 20 min sites to get served. They didn't even notice him until I did. Once they noticed I was more aware then the server...they stared to asks him if he needed anything else. Not even a drink...smh!! I pride my self and those that o train for provide excellent customer service. She place just has a much of self entitled youths running it- no management that I could observe. Summary: an iconic right of passage for any true New Jerseyan. For many born and raised New Jerseyans, we've spent the last decade trying to defend ourselves from how the media often portrays us: "no, we're not all like the cast of Jersey Shore. Really, we're a lot more normal than that." And then, D'Jais comes along and blows that argument out of the water. For this is the epitome of the Jersey Shore party scene. Grimy/grungy/sticky floors, blasting EDM music, napkins flying everywhere. And this was at around 3pm! Honestly - I could give this place two separate reviews. For anytime before say 6pm, this place gets a 5. It's loud, fun, great to people watch, dance, watch a sports game, whatever you like. However, after a certain time, this place becomes unbearable. It gets much too crowded, hot, and you'll be fighting like a salmon swimming upstream to get anywhere (bathrooms, drink orders, dance floor). If curiosity is getting the better of you, check it out on a mid-afternoon. Make sure to bring plenty of $$$ - this bar is cash only. And don't forget that around here, "Jersey Turnpike" can mean both a highway and a dance move! read more

I have mixed feelings for this place. I love their happy hours and when its not super crowded. On friday happy hours they have a free hot buffet where the food is pretty decent! They had salad, chicken, stuffed shells, potatoes. They also had great drink specials. $3 for a tall mixed well drink. The bartenders were also very nice. They had some giveaways along with a good dj. However, i've been here when it gets annoyingly crowded with fist pumpers and its only club music. If thats the scene you are looking for, then come here, but if not- go elsewhere So depending on when you come, and what you are looking for- this may or may not be the place you want to spend your time and money. read more

Went yesterday at around 3pm. Waitress was nice and service was quick. Food was mediocre at best- got the crab cake sandwich. Way too much sauce made the un toasted bread and poorly seared cake a soggy mess to eat. Ordered a sea breeze drink which was honestly disgusting. Terribly mixed. Great location tho since it's right off the boardwalk. Overall not worth it, try elsewhere for a good meal. read more

Bouncers rejected me for having XY chromosomes and trying to come in wearing jean shorts, but my friend with XX chromosomes in jean shorts was just fine. My two friends and I then proceeded to have a farce of a clothing swap at the bathroom across the street so we could get in, only to be disappointed to come in to one of the lamest bars I've ever been to. I grew up in NJ and then lived in the Philly area for 14 years. People always told me I don't seem like I'm from Jersey. No accent. No big hair. No crazy nails or tanning fetish. No obsession with designer labels. And I would set those fools straight, explaining that the cast of jersey shore was mostly from ny and I never met anyone like that in NJ. And then I got a share in a shore house in Manasquan.... Which brought me to D'Jais. The faux French spelling of the joint is pure douche bag genius. The music is thumping. The air horn is blowing. The napkins are flying. And the guidos and guidettes are fist pumping and booty shaking in all their 'roided up, clip in haired grandeur. It is a sight to behold. Like going to the safari to see the animals in their natural habitat, minus the flight and the malaria vaccine (though I can think of a few other vaccines that might be useful). I get a kick out of observing the mayhem, imbibing a few cocktails, and grinding up on a stranger or two. Enjoy, but be forewarned....Something funky happens when massive quantities of fireball mix with all those supplements and hair products that makes nice normal guidos start to rage. My advice, get there early, enjoy a few hours of no-holds-barred jersey goodness, and leave before the sun goes down. Bravo D'Jais! A resounding 5 stars! read more

We went for lunch and sat outside on July 4th, so a definitely different experience from the night bar/club atmosphere from other reviews. Location is great, on the water, will be a pain to find parking during the summer and weekends of course. It was busy, but we found a seat quickly, and it took a while to get a server (we had to ask) ... but props to our server who was super nice and friendly and patient. The water tasted like the big plastic jug it was stored in the sun. I had goose island on tap, which arrived quickly, but tasted of old tap lines. My wife's blueberry mojito (on recommendation from our server) was good. My cheeseburger and fries were good enough, but my wife's sweet potato fries were honestly some of the best I've ever had. I go to this establishment often whenever I'm in Belmar. It has both a great happy hour as well as a night scene. This is a big place & it split up nicely. If you're looking to dance & listen to techno then the inside part of this establishment is for you (the DJs are always playing great songs). At the same time, if you're looking to just hangout than the outside section is where you want to be. I usually hang out outside whenever I go since that's more of my type of scene. What I specifically like about the outside part of this place is all the seating they have. They have both round tables & picnic tables so it's very easy for a group of people to have a spot to sit & hangout at. There are plenty of bars all around this place & all are the bartenders are very friendly. There prices are standard & the bartenders do a great job getting your order to you in a timely fashion. I've been to the happy hour at this spot as well as the night scene & I've had a great time at both. If you go, just make sure you have cash on you to get in ($15 for guys/$5 for girls). This is hard to review. I like D'jais Friday night happy hour. Nice crowd...not too crowded at all...awesome drink specials and free food! Starting at 5pm they have $2 draft beers and $3 well drinks in tall glasses! Well worth it. I wasn't a huge fan of all the food at the buffet but it's free!! They have a spin wheel to win free stuff as well! Good happy hour. The view from the porch and the one bar inside is beautiful when the beach isn't crowded. If you stay Friday night or come Saturday it's WAAAYYYYY too much for me. Extremely crowded and too "jersey shore" pump it up for me. When I was younger I used to go for Theme Night Thursdays that I loved in my twenties but could not handle it anymore. If you like crowded pump it up places you'd love this place however it is so not for me. All in all, I gave it the three stars more for the happy hour. Was here last weekend and it's pretty much what you expect a New Jersey bar down the shore to be like; Loud, Packed, and Fun as F*** $5 mixed drinks at happy hour was the best. One thing I really appreciate about this place is the amount of bathrooms. For as packed of a place it was, I never had to wait on line for the restroom. For the outside area they had port-a-potty's (spell check?) and they were surprisingly clean. I prefer the outdoor area as opposed to the inside, the vibe is just better. read more
