    Maryland Crab Cake Sandwich

Finally made it to one of the Jersey Shore staples for dinner last week! Our server was friendly (despite what other reviews say about bad service), and we were lucky enough to snag a table on the porch with an awesome ocean view. Recommend checking for specials before you go - in June they had half-price entrées on Tuesdays. I had the vodka pasta with chicken; chicken was cooked perfectly and the portion was huge, but the sauce was just ok. My husband devoured his crab cake sandwich. We'll definitely be back later this summer for the live music!

I don't know why the bad reviews, went there a Friday night, got seated with 5 minutes, service was fast and good. Ambience on restaurant was great, beautiful views and Bru people in all age groups, food was excellent, meat dip was perfect, and lobster too. Will definitely go back. Prices are very competitive for that area and food

This is a beautiful spot to listen to music, dance, and drink. It is a better than average beach bar, with a varied crowd, strong drinks, and live music. It a gorgeous old Victorian mansion right on the water, so you can stare out at the ocean while you sip on a tumbler of wine and shout over the music at your friends. Also - there is a tiny restaurant in the back that serves cheap AF lobster and lobster rolls. It is cash only, and very no frills, but the lobster is excellent.

Here is a nice way to end a beautiful beach day at Avon. Sit outdoors, watch the ocean, sip a Modelo beer and eat here. Service was excellent and the food was great. I loved my wedge salad. It came with plenty of crispy bacon and and fresh romaine lettuce. Shrimp was perfectly grilled. This place is a little pricey but location, food and service do add up to a perfect way to end the day.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. It's right off the Avon boardwalk so views of the ocean are great. Highly recommend the lobster roll!

Great experience from start to finish. What's not to love about sitting right near the beach with stunning views? Started the evening with a few aperol spritz, wings, calamari and coconut shrimp. All were tasty and good portions. The calamari had a great spicy kick to it! Enjoyed! We then had our entrees. I had a lobster roll which was delicious! It came with fries on the side. My fiancé had tuna tacos, my future sister in law had shrimp tacos and my future cousin in law had crab cakes. I enjoyed mine, I know a few others thought it was average. Overall the food is good, however the views make everything that much better. I'll be back again!

Great outdoor seating area for our party of 11, where you can see the beautiful beach. If you want to get seats for a large party be sure to arrive early. So we got there at 11am on Sat, thinking it was when it opened based on what's posted but it turns out it's opened at 11:30am and didn't take reservations. We did get seated right away at 11:30am so that was great. Enjoyed my fish tacos and my friends also liked their meals too. Keeping in mind food was not our focus this was a great meet-up spot to grab a bite and head to the beach just across the street!!

Good bar with live music. Typical bar food with shore type specials like steamers and lobster rolls. For me I prefer lobster rolls with drawn butter over the rolls with mayo. I wish they had the choice. Definitely a better spot for lunch than the Pavilion on the beach!

The Columns is right on the shore which makes for a beautiful view. It is in an old family home and I was surprised how much space there is on the first floor. We attended a graduation dinner and they added cute little details for the grads around the room of the party (and the menu). So sweet of them! The food was decent. We had the steamers and calamari for an app and then I had the shrimp scampi for my meal. The steamers were cooked well and there was plenty of them. But the dipping sauce (usually just butter) was rather bland. The calamari was cooked well!! The shrimp of my meal was the best part. The sauce on the noodles were also bland. The drinks were also well but there is not draft beer which was off to me since there were full service bars around the restaurant. But the wine was delish and highly recommend if you dine at The Columns. The servers get 5/5 stars. So quick to get orders and were on it even with a group of 40+!

Went there after spending the day at the beach, service was efficient and food was delicious! The drinks were on point too. Place is also very accommodating!

Peel shrimp, seafood chowder, and a hot dog from the "outdoor grill" in the summer.

Plenty of spots in the parking lot and easy to pay for 2 hours on the app - signs don't say what time the "meters" go off, but with 2 restaurants sharing the lot, we figured you probably have to pay until at least 8 pm, and we were early (5:30 ish). Got seated quickly, in a booth near a wide opening out to the beautiful patio on the water. Rather warm in the restaurant and there were overhead fans that weren't rotating, but it wasn't uncomfortable. We'd have had to wait a bit for an outdoor table, and anyway it was a hot humid day and night so indoors suited us just fine. One friend had the lobster bisque, served with a good chunk of a bread that looked tasty (she's not a bread lover but she enjoyed it so it must have been delicious) and she really liked the soup. Then she added another appetizer, spicy garlic shrimp. Generous portion of 6 shrimp. My other friend had the crabcake & shrimp plate, which came with a side salad that our waitress was savvy enough to bring first when our other friend was enjoying her soup. Some crumbled feta on the side salads, a nice touch. When she ordered, my friend asked if the crabcake had a lot of breading and our server assured her that it doesn't; that turned out to be accurate! I also got that side salad with the Ahi tuna bowl I ordered. This was a bowl of dry, bland white rice (might have been jasmine rice but not strong flavor). On one side atop the rice was a good portion of seaweed salad, which I love. Piled sort-of artistically on the other side of the rice mound were several small slices (6? 7?) of perfectly "black and blue" tuna crusted with both black and white sesame seeds. The fish and salad were delicious but not terribly filling. I ate most of the rice. I noticed that there was a marinade at the bottom and began to mix the rice with the marinade that was tasty. They do add 2.5% for credit cards, but that's fair enough these days. Entrées are on the pricey side, I thought ($39. for the crab/shrimp dish, 32 for my tuna, 12 for the lobster bisque), but there aren't any bargains dining out these days. We had no complaints, other than my somewhat dry rice. I'd like to give it 3 1/2 stars but will err on the generous side. We'll probably return next year on our beach day!

We ordered the Margherita pizza. It was just okay, not bad but also just not delicious. Sauce was a little bland, like it was missing garlic or seasoning. The mussels were good however we had asked if they could be prepared without the chilies. We were told yes by our server (who was a dear really, she was great I don't really blame her for anything) that they could leave out the chilies. Well we ordered them and there was definitely chilies! My friend could not eat them at all. I like spicy and even my eyes were watering. I just question getting bread rolls served with the mussels when the usual service is sliced toasted bread. So, as I said, I think just temper your expectations. This place does have the beautiful view going for it.

One of the biggest draws at 9th Ave Pier is the harbor backdrop. The restaurant can get crowded and noisy during peak hours, particularly depending on where you're seated, but we lucked out with a table that offered great views without feeling overwhelmed by the crowd. The food arrived surprisingly quickly, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. Don't come expecting fine dining presentation. This is a casual waterfront spot where meals arrive in baskets and drinks come in plastic cups. We got the Volcano Shrimp appetizer which large enough for sharing and tasted good. For entrees, the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl was good and decent portion size. The Flounder Sandwich was the best due to the portion size: basically two large fillets per sandwich; although I wish it had other sauce options, besides the tartar sauce. We added an order of fries, which were tasty though they could have benefited from a bit more crispness. It took a little bit to get drinks/refills but the waitress was hustling so I just think the bar was backed up. Overall decent casual food.

We grabbed seats at the larger of the two bars to enjoy some drinks, the summer breeze, and the excellent live music. While they had a bunch of interesting cocktails, I stuck with a basic tequila and club soda. We did not order any food, but I would also not say that it looked very appetizing. After sitting for a bit, we felt like it was time to move on to a new venue, when we learned that the same company also managed a mini-golf course at the other end of the marina. It only cost $7 per adult to play, so it seemed like a no-brainer. The course was relatively easy, so we went through it very quickly, but it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Between the two areas, we were truly able to enjoy the beautiful weather at a relaxing pace.

Parking is plentiful, although some lots are paid while others are free. Be prepared for a wait during peak times, but their waitlist system lets you track your place in line, so getting there early is worth it. We started with the Fire Island Roll and Black Dragon Roll, and both were excellent. The standout entrée was the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll, packed with generous chunks of lobster and easily one of the best lobster rolls on the Shore. The Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp was another winner, with a generous portion and flavorful crab stuffing. The Whole Sea Bass special was slightly smaller than expected but still satisfying, while the Blackened Halibut was cooked well but could have used a sauce to bring the dish together. A special shoutout to the staff, who made the smart decision not to seat guests at umbrella-covered tables when storms were approaching. When the wind and thunder rolled in, everyone remained safely under covered areas. Great seafood, beautiful views, and thoughtful service make Klein's well worth a visit.

Tonight was especially spectacular for me, hence the essay review. The organization starting all the way from the ample parking, to the hostess system + the waiting areas made a 55 min wait absolutely seamless, even during a busy Sunday night rush. This visit was everything I could've asked for, and more. My party of 4 and I shared the following apps & entrees: -fried calamari -soaring scallops -fra diablo mussels -fish tacos -blackened red snapper w/waffle fries Everything was delicious, and the snapper stole the show. We downed our bites with some frozen margaritas, YUM! The steamed veggies w/ the snapper platter were particularly refreshing and perfectly cooked. The blackened seasoning was on point. The mussels are my father's all time favorite, therefore they have a special place in my book; they are a must order. Can't go wrong with a calamari app, but the soaring scallops were a bit underwhelming and would probably switch it for my usual spicy tuna roll next time. I have to take a moment for the most important aspect of our dinner. Our server Todd is the epitome of top tier service and dedication to customer satisfaction. Just based off the introduction, I knew we were in good hands. He made sure we were set up and coursed our meal in such a timely matter that every step of service was hit. He made it his business to touch the table every time food was dropped, which is a BIG green flag. If ever something was needed, we did not have to look far or wait for attention. These are the 101's of the service industry that seem to get lost in the sauce more often than not, and he managed to excel in every category I look for when I'm spending my money out. I hope his pillow is always cold at night. All things combined; the overall family oriented vibe, waterside sunset dining, friendly and efficient staff, great food and reasonably priced drinks, makes for the dream post beach dinner. I have been here a million times and I would come back a million more, and would 100% request Todd. Thanks guys !!!!
