[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a beautiful spot to listen to music, dance, and drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a better than average beach bar, with a varied crowd, strong drinks, and live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It a gorgeous old Victorian mansion right on the water, so you can stare out at the ocean while you sip on a tumbler of wine and shout over the music at your friends. Also - there is a tiny restaurant in the back that serves cheap AF lobster and lobster rolls. It is cash only, and very no frills, but the lobster is excellent.

Here is a nice way to end a beautiful beach day at Avon. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sit outdoors, watch the ocean, sip a Modelo beer and eat here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was excellent and the food was great. I loved my wedge salad. It came with plenty of crispy bacon and and fresh romaine lettuce. Shrimp was perfectly grilled. This place is a little pricey but location, food and service do add up to a perfect way to end the day.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's right off the Avon boardwalk so views of the ocean are great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend the lobster roll!

Great experience from start to finish. What's not to love about sitting right near the beach with stunning views? Started the evening with a few aperol spritz, wings, calamari and coconut shrimp. All were tasty and good portions. The calamari had a great spicy kick to it! Enjoyed! We then had our entrees. I had a lobster roll which was delicious! It came with fries on the side. My fiancé had tuna tacos, my future sister in law had shrimp tacos and my future cousin in law had crab cakes. I enjoyed mine, I know a few others thought it was average. Overall the food is good, however the views make everything that much better. I'll be back again!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Good bar with live music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Typical bar food with shore type specials like steamers and lobster rolls. For me I prefer lobster rolls with drawn butter over the rolls with mayo. I wish they had the choice. Definitely a better spot for lunch than the Pavilion on the beach!

Great outdoor seating area for our party of 11, where you can see the beautiful beach. If you want to get seats for a large party be sure to arrive early. So we got there at 11am on Sat, thinking it was when it opened based on what's posted but it turns out it's opened at 11:30am and didn't take reservations. We did get seated right away at 11:30am so that was great. Enjoyed my fish tacos and my friends also liked their meals too. Keeping in mind food was not our focus this was a great meet-up spot to grab a bite and head to the beach just across the street!!

The Columns is right on the shore which makes for a beautiful view. It is in an old family home and I was surprised how much space there is on the first floor. We attended a graduation dinner and they added cute little details for the grads around the room of the party (and the menu). So sweet of them! The food was decent. We had the steamers and calamari for an app and then I had the shrimp scampi for my meal. The steamers were cooked well and there was plenty of them. But the dipping sauce (usually just butter) was rather bland. The calamari was cooked well!! The shrimp of my meal was the best part. The sauce on the noodles were also bland. The drinks were also well but there is not draft beer which was off to me since there were full service bars around the restaurant. But the wine was delish and highly recommend if you dine at The Columns. The servers get 5/5 stars. So quick to get orders and were on it even with a group of 40+!

Went there after spending the day at the beach, service was efficient and food was delicious! The drinks were on point too. Place is also very accommodating!

Love this place after a long beach day! The no-frills outdoor grill/deck has self-serve seating (cash only) with causal fare consisting of peel shrimp, clams, whole lobster, mini burgers, hot dog, etc. Cheaper prices but continually goes up each year. Can't beat that ocean view (if you're lucky). For actual dining, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was. Bacon wrapped scallops usually underwhelm me bc the scallop is too small or dried out and is overpowered by bacon flavor... not here!!! Juicy, sweet, tender scallops and the crispy bacon complemented nicely. Orange marmalade for dipping. The octopus special was sooo good, seasoned with olives/ & capers. Side salad was perfect. Waitress was very sweet and attentive. Be warned the floorboards do shake when folks walk by--it's an old house. Always expect a wild time here, as they have live bands around the clock. It gets packed, but plenty of standing room away from the stage. Cover charge by a certain hour at night. Depends on time of day for what age group frequents, but overall seems to be getting younger as years go by.

3.5 stars. OK, so my review is based on going here on a cool, rainy June day so it was empty and quiet. I know it gets super packed normally, so my experience was different. I'm pretty sure that the columns used to be an old Victorian home at one point and it's probably needs the columns because of all of the different columns throughout the former house. It is a large bar/restaurant with different sections inside and outside. Since it was raining we were inside and obviously had the entire bar to ourselves. Aperol spritz FTW and a glass of water before heading on the road. It does smell like bar in there, but that's expected for a popular place like that. I wouldn't mind returning but only during quieter seasons.

They were barely half full and the noise was not extremely loud. I had the New England clam chowder and as usual it was a great start to the meal. Plenty of clams and potatos in a creamy white sauce. To start the meal they also provided bread sticks with sesame seeds which is a real nice alternative to dinner rolls. With the sticks they also providing a dipping sauce that really tasted great. This the only place I can remember having breadsticks during dinner and loved it. For dinner I had stuffed flounder with rice and vegetables. The fish was prepared real well and came with plenty of crabmeat and stuffing. Inside it was real moist and tasted great. Along with that was rice and mixed vegetables. In the restaraunt the vegetables were a bit harder then I would prefer but when I reheated the meal at home they were perfect. But if you you are an al dente vegetable they would be fine for you. My wife picked something off the specials of the day. Shrimp, Mahi, broccoli, mushrooms, pine nuts all over rice. She felt this was a great meal and would definitely get it again. It was a nice blend of a bunch of tastes and textures, and the pine nuts are always a great addition to a meal. With less people to deal with the service was right on point, with several returns to our table to make sure everything was well. I feel you will always have a great meal here. But at times there will be a wait to get a table and it will be a bit loud... But in my mind you will always walk out smiling

Its on the water, so we waited for an outside table. We only waited about 25 mins on a very busy night (we were quoted 45) which I was pleased by. The tuna nachos were my favorite bite of the night. The plate was giant to share and the flavors were delicious. I got the shrimp and lobster pasta and if you are considering that, I would pass. The shrimp had a funny, almost lemon essense flavor. The lobster was tasty (can't really mess up lobster). The pasta however was mucky in my opinion. The pasta itself was broken so it wasn't easy to twirl and the flavor was just very bland. My friends got the salmon and the shrimp. Both looked delicious. I do have to mention that we did love that the entrees came with a side salad. Overall it was a lovely spot. Absolutely beautiful there. Hang at the outside bar as you wait for your table!

I should have been suspicious when I ordered a glass of prosecco at the bar and it was just super cheap tasting. It was only $10 so I guess you get what you pay for. There was also a gross dirty napkin just sitting on the bar that was not attended to. At the table, I ordered their peach spritz. It was not spritzy and light as one would hope. It was extremely sweet and gloopy with syrup. Not refreshing. My friend had the strawberry mocktail and had to send it back due to its unpleasant taste. The waitress was pleasant and just took it off our bill. We ordered a dozen oysters. These oysters tasted flat like old gray dishwater. I think maybe the kitchen didn't bother to spot check quality. I think these were Blue Points, but they tasted like wet bathroom slippers. Next we had the clams. These were actually very good, but after the oysters, I was expecting very little. We then tried the crab cocktail. For $30, it was 3 tablespoons of crab on garnish lettuce. The crab was just so so, a bit dry, and totally not worth $30. We both decided to try the lobster bisque. They overloaded it with heavy cream. But the worst part was the garlic bread on top. Hard, chewy and clearly STALE. For the price and low quality, Marina Grille should be ashamed of themselves.

We were seated in the covered front deck area which was separated from the interior restaurant. It was an 80-85° day but the temperature in the space was relatively comfortable. We had grabbed a few bottles of white from the conveniently located liquor store across the street. I love me a good BYOB establishment. We started with the tuna pizza, an order of oysters, garlic shrimp, beet salad, and the Bibb salad. (Just a side note, they want you to place your starters and entrees at the same time). Everything came out in a reasonable time and was all very good. The Tuna pizza was not at all what I was envisioning but was a pleasant surprise both presentation and taste wise. The shrimp were interesting because they looked like they would be super flavorful, but just felt kind of flat. Both of the salads were delicious, I really enjoyed the Bibb and would highly recommend it. I had the Bluefin and it was really good, the portion size was fair and the fish was extremely fresh. It was far from the best bluefin I've had, but would recommend it nonetheless. Everyone else enjoyed their entrees as well and overall I would say we had a great time. It was a bit pricey, but it's Spring Lake so that was baked into the cake. Will visit again, and this time I'll remember to order the lobster roll.

We ordered the Lobster Roll - when it came out, my partner and I looked at each other with the same disbelief. It was literally half the size of the Lobster Roll we had before. In addition the lobster wasn't tender - it was chewy. And to 'top it off' it was over seasoned - we ordered the hot, buttered roll. The 'famed' lobster roll was no longer the same epic sandwich. Next, we reordered the Crab Cake. It was an amazing dish when we had it before. Again, it was half the size of the crab cake we had before. While it tasted good, it was a surprise it was much smaller. The saving grace, a Fried Cod sandwich we ordered was very good.

My favorite was the fishies above a fishing boat, which I had to take a snap of. I ordered 3 eggs over medium, with rye, and a side of bacon. The eggs were still a bit too runny, but its a standard breakfast. I want to go back and to sit there because the staff were super nice. If I lived closer then I'd prolly be here all the time. Highly recommend stopping by here early because I have a feeling they're super busy with the locals.

We chose to sit in the enclosed veranda at the front of the restaurant; Amelia's is located on Ocean Ave. and has some beautiful views! We started with a few cocktails - my partner got the Lavender Martini, which she said was very good. I got the Pineapple Margarita, which was excellent! I saw meatballs on the menu - I always order meatballs when having Italian cuisine (Amelia's represents itself as '...a blend of old school Italian and contemporary continental cuisine..'. They were some of the best meatballs I've ever had. Amelia's blends pork, veal and beef for its meatballs - they're tender and seasoned perfectly! The marinara was excellent and there was a dollop of ricotta to stir into the sauce. It was an epic appetizer! For our entrees, I ordered Wild Caught Shrimp Oreganata with mixed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. The shrimp were butterflied and quickly grilled - they had a plump, tender interior with a grilled exterior, in a delicious sauce. The potatoes were very good, and while I'm not a big fan of the mixed vegetables, they were good. My partner ordered one of the specials - the Lobster Capelinni. - 6 oz. of lobster on top of angel hair pasta with a delicious tomato-brandy sauce! We couldn't believe how much lobster was on the pasta - it was tender and very tasty! After 2 excellent entrees, we decided to try the desserts. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I ordered the Carrot Cake (one of my favorite desserts) and my partner ordered the Chocolate Cake, one of her favorite desserts! My 'carrot cake' wasn't a cake but a conglomeration of icing and thick layers of 'fudge-like' cake. Visions of a fluffy, rich cake with freshly grated carrots and 'warm spices' flew out the window! My partners chocolate cake was dry and not moist at all - I've had Duncan Hines chocolate cakes that tasted better!! While the desserts were a big disappointment, the meal was excellent and we will return to Amelia's on our next visit to Spring Lake.
