My husband, friend and I came here before the fireworks on July 3rd. I did make reservations and it is definitely recommended as it was quite busy. We each ordered a drink. I ordered the 'Watermelon Crush', my friend ordered a Bucket of Pina Colada and my husband ordered a bourbon bucket drink. I do not remember the name though. The drinks were way too strong for my liking but my friend and my husband enjoyed theirs. We shared the 'Shrimp and Roasted Corn Queso' which was good. They definitely did not skimp on the cheese. Unfortunately, this appetizer also came out with the main meals. I really dislike when places do that. For our entrees, my husband ordered the 'Bang Bang Salmon' which he loved and thought it was delicious but not worth the $26 price tag. My friend ordered the 'Grilled Skirt Steak' which she seemed to enjoy although it was a small portion. I ordered the 'Grilled Shrimp and Pineapple Skewers' which I did like but the skewers were quite small and it was mostly white rice. Our bill came out to $164 which I really think is WAY too high for these meals or drinks. Our server was nice; but she was rarely there. The busser, however, she was on top of her game and super friendly! It might seem funny to mention the busser, but she was really great. I would not come back and honestly, I think there's other options that are better. Swim Crush has great potential but is just okay. The 2 times I've been there have been during midweek happy hour (offseason) when it's very quiet, and both times the bar was dirty, with cup rings and spilled salt. There is NO excuse for that (like literally, I was the only person sitting at the bar - they were not slammed). The food is tasty. Great big sushi rolls although the individual soy holders they give were clearly designed by someone who doesn't eat sushi (too shallow). I also was charged full price for a happy hour drink (I told the bartender and he rectified it). Just seems like this place needs a little more managerial oversight. It took about 30 minutes for my freind to get his French toast and his whip cream was melted. He had cold food. It took 40 minutes for me to get my food. Very cute spot on the asbury boardwalk, drink menu is definitely fun and summer vibes. I was so disappointed that they advertised sushi on their website and come to find out it's now off the menu. The nachos were ok, very cheesy, the Greek salad had fresh avocado and really delicious feta and I wanted shrimp but got the chicken because they were out of shrimp. Swim crush was an OK experience. The food is fairly basic and the drinks were just okay. I got the chicken tacos and blue crush drink. The drink was so sweet I almost couldn't finish it. This WAS my go to place after spending a day on the beach and enjoy their delicious large sushi roll menu outside on the patio overlooking the beach. Last weekend it was gorgeous out. Went to the beach and ended the day drooling over the idea of having their various sushi rolls, tempura shrimp skewers and amazing flavorful edamame. Whelp............ they got rid of all of it! No more sushi menu (they only serve 4 very basic rolls and were out of two of them.) Shrimp skewers were taken off the menu and so was the edamame. All that is left was tuna nachos which was little to be desired and some bizarre french fry appetizer with a white creamy sauce that had a small amount of crab mixed in. I am so disappointed as this was one of my favorite places to go 2 to 3 times a month to get really good sushi right off the beach. It was wonderful. Why the heck did they get rid of their sushi menu??? Please bring it back for the summer of 2026. If you want sandwiches go here because that's all it has now. read more

Coming to you from the same owners as The Break and Low Dive, this beach bar and grill has a chill ambiance, an American food menu, and a nice drink list. The orange crush is excellent and our favorite in NJ! The view of the ocean and boardwalk are perfect. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3-6pm with $8 food specials and various drink specials. Okay so the ambiance is really chill. I really love what they've done with the outside. It gives more of a "sit here and relax" vibe to it. They even have seating that is cushioned and more of a lounge feel. Love that. Only downside is the music they were playing was sad lol personal taste, I know. We went on a Friday for a late lunch. Just rather not listen to sad music while I'm drinking. The service was great. Our waiter was so nice and ON IT! She didn't miss a beat. Even to be seated, we walked up from the beach, with our beach stuff. They allowed us to bring our beach bag, beach chair and cooler to the table. We were seated outside and it wasn't packed but it was busy. Okay so now the food! Food was okay. The wings were the best thing we had. The calamari was good and light. The sauce it came with was good. The fried shrimp and calamari came with the same sauce. Wouldn't get both of them together again. The fries with cheese sauce were okay. I think they put beer in the sauce. I tried to look on the menu to see if it said, but it didn't. Not that it was bad, it was just different. Biggest let down was the crab melt away I was so sad about that one. Think pita bread with a huge layer of crab dip. The center was still kind of cold. And it was just too much for that thin bread it was on. The filling on top just slid off every time I tried to pick it up. It wasn't a hit for me. I think that filling would be good on some bread, rather than a very thin pita. Didn't hate it, just wasn't impressed, don't think I would do it again. Maybe if I saw it came out on bread. Idk. The center was still cold also so I'm not sure. lol. The Pina colada came out cute and was tasty. Loved that. Last thing I want to mention, this is more of a "chill" spot now. The utensils are all plastic, plates all plastic, cups all plastic. Very chill vibe (not a complaint) I think I would go back to this place for wings and drinks. Swimcrush was excellent! From the food to the service to the atmosphere I had a great lunch at the beach. I found Swimcrush at one end of the boardwalk down at Asbury Park. The menu sign had a ton of options and variety, I just wanted a burger and fries and this place had that and more (some places will specialize in seafood and not serve fries, this place has sushi and they still have fries! AWESOME!). I was met at the door by Elizabeth the manager and a few others who let me know about my choices giving me the honest answers as to what was good. I had the Smashburger and it was great! Fried pickles and french fries, and a large serving at that, just a really tasteeeee burger! My server, Bailey, was present and there for conversation and refills. I even met chef Al and thanked him for a great burger. Chef Al and Elizabeth took their time to acknowledge me and listen to my feedback while they were handling other business, multitasking and still being attentive to a single customer (me) without appearing annoyed or brushing me off. I felt like a VIP at Swimcrush and I was impressed. With the weather, the beach, the boardwalk, the breeze, the food, definitely the service, I was living the life...at least for lunch. while cute I don't see it as a recipe to success. I get using plastic flatware outside but sitting inside at a table and not having silverware not only comes across as cheap, it's bad for the environment. speaking of environment- still using plastic straws and putting them in every drink, requested or not, which goes against the city's ordinance. the set up inside makes no sense to me - the game table is too big for the space and every table or chair you remove is dollars lost. setting up a lounge area with board or table games would make more sense and easier to switch around to accommodate a band inside for the off season. it seems more set up to be a seasonal spot than a year round destination. read more

The review is only for the bar and cocktails. I have yet to eat here but I am sure that time will come. We have been here a handful of times walking over from the beach. Swim Crush is a great addition to the boardwalk for a quick drink or bite. Reading the other reviews, the ping pong table does take up space, but it is close to the front of the building. I think most patrons would rather sit outside or have a view of the beach plus, who doesn't like pink pong? There is some bar seating that does face the beach as well. Most of the cocktails are very islandly, they have Crush's which is usually an alcohol mixed with fruit juices (blue was my favorite) and buckets (try the Pog Juice). You can get frozen drinks like daiquiris and pina coladas, mix them up for a Miami vice! Great vibe inside and the bartenders (Cat) have always been friendly, even when the place gets jammed. read more

Calamari was fresh and cooked delicately, fresh not chewy but the appetizer portion was barely enough for 2 smaller females to enjoy. My grievance is they had 3 advertised specials on the board, one being fish & chips. I was told they were out and only had one blackened seafood special. May I ask why? Why? Advertise specials that are not available? They never corrected the board the almost 2 hours we ate there. This place has huge potential, because the food is fresh and cooked well. Great beachy vibe, BUT for what they charge there are many other places on the boardwalk. Cocktails were very weak as well, which was too bad. The Strawberry Daiquiri was made with fresh fruit but the bartender forgot the Rum. Note to owner; when charging these prices you might want to use unbreakable plastic forks. Went on a Friday night to order a quick bite ! I noticed a very chemically smell! Wasn't sure what it was but it stopped me from wanting to eat. I discovered that it was the wooden barrel table I was sitting at! I guess it was a newly built table but I bent down to sniff it and could smell a fresh coat of polyurethane on the table. It was very strong ! When our food came we asked for it to go because we needed to leave to avoid the smell. As I explained to the person not sure if she was the waitress she was wearing black at the front that we were leaving due to the smell she just stood there in a daze or trance of some sort and didn't respond. It was very strange. Another person who was with us that had ordered separately got the chicken garden pita and did not enjoy their food. The calamari that we ordered didn't come with aioli sauce only with marinara . When we went back to change the aioli sauce the waiter just kept saying yea. Staff seems totally uninterested in being there which is surprising as it is begining of season and was a bumping Friday night! Definitely will not be returning !
