Mariemil suggested we use the Cal State Long Beach Japanese Gardens as the backdrop for our family. Very nice. The location was free from crowds and had a number of beautiful settings including koi ponds, wooden bridges, walkways, foliage, etc. She suggested a number of different set-ups throughout the one hour sitting and we ended up with about 100 different photos. I knew immediately that I wanted to take family pictures with my family (which consists of two dogs and my long term boyfriend). I immediately thought of my sisters wedding photographer, Christine Meeker Pictures, who did such an amazing job at her wedding in January. Boy am I glad I called them! I called on a Monday and spoke with Laurie, she was so sweet, caring and professional. After explaining what I wanted she had me booked that same week on Thursday! Such a quick turn around! When we arrived for the pictures, their studio was amazing. We loved all of the outside setups and props that we were able to take pictures in front of. Even thought my dogs were a little crazy with all of the stimulation, Christine and Jennifer were fantastic. They were so patient and you could tell how much they love and enjoy what they do. One thing I really loved was during each picture grouping Christine would say, "Got it!" when she got the picture. It was such a wonderful experience during such a difficult time for my family. Before leaving, they already had me set up with a date to come back and review the pictures. The review process was amazing with Amanda as well. I loved the set up of the room and how she went over all of our pictures in a slide show format. It felt very personal and was a great touch. Now to the pictures themselves... They are absolutely amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better turnout. I loved all of them, so it was difficult to choose which ones I wanted. I ended up ordering three prints of different sizes and a book. Words can't express how happy I am and how much I will treasure these pictures. The cherry on top of my experience with Christine Meeker Pictures was that after it was all said and done, Amanda asked how Dutch (my dog) was doing.
