He was pleasantly surprised at what a great cut he got for $8.00. She took her time to get the fade just right. His cut: mid-bald fade. Tip generously as these are students and haircuts are at a fraction of what you would pay at a shop. I recently attended D'lacreme for my esthetician license. I already completed Cosmetology at a different school prior back in 2010. With my existing experience I feel like this school is just what I needed, with their reasonable flexibility on scheduling as well as payment plans. As a wife & a stay at home Mom it worked perfectly for me. Sure this school is outdated, it's been there for a long time! If you want all the extra fancy things, go to a school with an extremely high price point & the basic full time 9-5 schedule that comes along with it. The goal at any beauty school is exactly the same, & we are all there for one reason, to obtain your license & learn the basics. Thats what beauty school is in layman terms, the basics as well as infection control. That's how you pass state board! Everyone that is in the beauty industry knows that after you actually get licensed and start working in the salon/servicing is where the real learning takes place! I am so thankful for Ms. Jen, she is extremely knowledgeable & always had all the answers to every question I had with no hesitation. Speaking on my experience especially with her in esthetics, she will give you the tools you need to succeed but she's not going to baby you & most certainly shouldn't have to. I graduated in the middle of June & took my state board exam at the end of July & obtained my Esthetician license. Now if you're a potential costumer for services & looking for that kind of review, remember you are getting a service by a SCHOOL. People who are learning, have patience & kindness! Don't walk up in there asking for a full lighting/bleach with previous box die in your hair and expect to come out looking like Margot Robbie for $40 MY GOD! You should never have unreal expectations for a high end salon, let alone a school. Overall my experience with clients/customers was always great & left happy as far as I knew. I came back she said nobody signed the ticket so she can't honor the haircut even though she's the one who told me to come back. I just got a dope ass haircut from 1 of the new up coming talents in the Barber game. Nick the Barber is the FUTURE! I read my YELP reviews and what they say about Nick is true. He is legit. He is a Diamond gem hidden in a garage sale. Why isn't this guy in a top shop yet has me baffled. If you want a top cut for a cheap price, come here while it last. I believe once he becomes certified and he gets in a shop, the prices will raise which will be way worth the cost. Came in because I was recommended for a good haircut and a good price. I saw a $5 haircut deal on A-frame sign outside and then was greeted by the owner while she was smoking outside. I just wanted a haircut and was charged $9. I asked why it cost more than the sign said and she asked if $7 was ok? I just agreed because this is a new place and didn't want a bad haircut, but felt overcharged. I learned later she automatically charged me with a facial hair trim up too, even though I only mentioned a haircut. The place itself seemed a bit out dated, but that didn't bother me. The barber himself was great. He travels all the way from Petaluma to school here. He made great conversation and was very professional. read more

The first time I went there I saw them chase a customer outside accusing them of not paying for a service that they had done when they clearly had paid. The owner speaks down to students in front of customers and degrades them. This place is very unprofessional and I will not becoming back. read more

I was in Fairfield getting some JJs for some catfish nuggets and this place was next door. I paid 5 dollars for a cut and an extra 2 for the shave. I was satisfied with the bargain but was ecstatic when Nick gave me such a clean fade and line up. Barbers usually push my hair line back but this guy was more precise. His professional hospitality paired with exuberance and irrevocable passion for the game had me impressed. Even though the employees were professional I felt comfortable as I could express myself via my natural vernacular like I'm at a real community barber shop/hair salon. Would come again. read more

This school will not teach you anything. You will have to use your clock hours here to teach yourself through YouTube and your textbook. It is unstructured and you get almost none (mostly superficial and unhelpful) one on one or human instruction. You will sometimes be expected to supply products and tools. You may lose clock hours, have to redo a test or spend extra hours here you will not get credit for because of their unorganized and unprofessional owners/teachers. The school is FILTHY, to put it kindly. The owner didn't even try to keep the students safe and comfortable (let people in to use the bathroom, smoke inside, no air/heat, not enough soap/paper towels/toilet seat covers...) and would expect the students to keep up the school while on their clock hours. They have unrealistic and petty expectations of students when they cannot even provide INSTRUCTION. The owner is a joke and I don't know how she still hasn't been shut down. read more

There was a mix up with one of the services I ordered, but they were able to provide an alternative service. The students were courteous, helpful, and patient. One of the teachers seemed a bit unstable and unprofessional (yelling at the students in front of customers), but another staff/teacher mediated and resolved the situation.
