Stopped by with wife and grandson after church. Place was busy but we were quickly helped. Our first visit so took us a few minutes to taste a few and make up our mind. Server, Kiana, was very helpful and patient as we decided. We all got soft serv cones, peanut butter for me and chocolate for wife and grandson. They were all excellent and amazing that the cone that seemed large was only 50 calories. We also enjoyed browsing ice cream and freezer options for various diets. Stopped by at the end of a mid-week shopping trip to get my ice cream fix. I had the small, which is definitely large enough, and it tasted pretty good. Some sort of chocolate/cherry/coconut concoction. It's important to note that only the soft serve is low calorie and the small size is one serving. They have lots of other dietary items in there, like carbanada pasta, and tons of to-go pints for when you want to stock your freezer. This place is amazing. Literally out of heaven good for a ketogenic dieter! All the ice cream flavors are delicious - the soft serve vanilla has 6 carbs, the chocolate only has 2 per serving! It's a low carber's dream. If you follow them on facebook, you can also see the flavors of the day which is cool. They have other low carb products too like Miracle Noodles and cookies/cheesecake. They have many size and topping options. They also have regular flavors as well (non low carb haha). On Wednesdays and Sundays, it is buy 2 get 1 free of the flavors in the freezer - we do pints every Sunday (think they are ~$9 a piece) and it taste like true creamy chocolate ice cream without kicking me out of ketosis (and without me having to make it!). I LOVE this place. I went here once when I first moved to the area a year ago, but after returning a few times here and there it just was good ice cream. My favorite Ice cream they have is the coconut chocolate almond, I had it the first time I was there, but never saw it again. I asked the owner (owned by a very nice couple and their family) if they would ever be getting the coconut chocolate almond, I was overwhelmed when she said she'd order it just for me and it would be in later that week. My initial review was 5 stars. But I unfortunately figured out that the keto-friendly soft serve was giving me severe diarrhea. The ice creams were delish! They have lots of flavors that you can choose from and they even let you sample once, twice or six times (in my case). I was personally so flabbergasted with their awesome creations that I had to go with the classic "traditional" banana split. And it was a split with splitting. While my husband and I were having a cute little Sunday, shopping the discount stores of Countryside, we realized our skin was burning off in the 95 degree April temperatures. Instead of going on a vegan diet, switching to solar power, and incrementally lowering the impacts of climate change we decided instead on a refreshing treat of frozen yogurt to cool off. It was delicious. I usually crave Rita's custard, and didn't think anything could compare to it - yet somehow D'Lites does. It was also impressive that they have other novelties to purchase, including Hyppo popsicles for those of us who live in North Pinellas, and don't want to drive to DTSP or Hyde Park. Another impressive thing they have is in the far left of the counter to the back -- tickets for free games of bowling at Countryside Lanes. I love this place ! Prior to moving to Tampa Bay, i had never encountered a place like this before. They are low carb and a small cup is 100 calories so you can enjoy a frozen treat without guilt. They have a variety of flavors that change all the time. It's always exciting to see what they will bring next. D'lites is a great little ice cream shop tucked into a super busy shopping center across the street from Countryside mall. They have two different brands of ice cream: Hershey's brand, which is the normal, solid ice cream we're all accustomed to, and D'lites, which is a low calorie soft serve. All of D'lites' flavors are made from either chocolate of vanilla as a base. Because of that, it is far easier to keep track of the calories, which I greatly appreciate. On this particular visit I chose the eggnog flavor. YUM! I don't know about you guys but, for me, eggnog is one of the key flavors of the season. Usually it's so fattening that I'm -glad- it's not offered year-round, or I'd be rolling around like Violet Beauregarde. But this ice cream isn't the usual. I can enjoy a cup of it guilt free for only 100 calories. It was worth it, too. The eggnog flavor was delicious and I was literally doing the happy dance in my seat(which happens whenever I taste anything that I really really like). The only reason I'm docking a star is because later that night my husband and I ended up having some stomach issues(him more-so than me). Nothing terrible, but enough to bring up a conversation of, "I wonder what ingredient could have done this?". Being the culinary adventurer that I am, I do intend to go back for more, though.
