They may be known for cheesecake, but they have a wonderful weekend breakfast. It's really difficult to find places that make corned beef hash that they make themselves and is flavorful with corned beef seasonings. I'm always looking for a good place for corned beef hash that is homemade. They also were not stingy with the amount of meat for the hash. The eggs were perfectly cooked. I ordered pumpernickel toast and it came perfectly toasted and buttered. They also use premium jam, Dickinson's red raspberry jam in a little jar. It was a nice touch. To drink I had an iced chai latte. I do not know of many places that actually brew it from scratch with chai tea leaves and spices. My husband tasted it and thought it was as good as what you would get in an Indian tea stall. It does not have any sweetener in it, but has lots of flavor. It was brewed just the way we like it. I don't like places that use sweetened chai concentrate. So be patient while they brew it fresh for you. We also ordered French toast, which was challah bread that had been soaked to give that custard flavor and feel. They also put a little bit of butter on top of the French toast, which adds a nice salty creamy flavor. We were surprised that they were not super busy for breakfast. I would highly suggest trying this place for a wonderful breakfast treat. read more

A charming little cheesecake spot in lovely Safety Harbor. I ordered a black cold brew after asking if it's made in house. They said it is and despite it being $7 it was promptly brought out in a styrofoam cup like one might get from a gas station. What was contained in said cup was what can only be described as a simulacrum of a vanilla and coconut scented candle. It was explained to me that the cold brew was in fact Joffrey's mix and it's Jamaican Me Crazy Flavored. The drink was disposed of. No refund was offered. Had no appetite for cheesecake at that point. Our other drink was served hot instead of iced. Nice outdoor seating. Update to respond to owner- Wow, I appreciate your response but it was not quite "accurate" itself. When I took the cold brew inside to ask about what I was served and was informed that it was not made in house as I was told, and that it was flavored (specifically not what I had requested) I explained I couldn't drink it and asked what could be done. They said "at this point nothing." I think dropped the drink in the trash in front of them. I returned outside, wrote my review, and told the people I was with. My 13 year old niece who I was visiting said "that's insane, I'm going to go get your refund." And sure enough they did! But my review had been written. According to her your staff was not at all accommodating about the refund, but they did provide it. Also, as for etiquette concerns for the party I was visiting family and friends that were already on your patio. I can't vouch for how long they were there or what they did or did not receive. So to recap- I came in with my sister, we ordered 2 drinks. Both were wrong. One was fixed and the other was disposed of. There was a refund after the fact but not to me. read more

We visit Bassano Cheesecake anytime we're in the Safety Harbor area, the quaint, eclectic feel of this cafe - on top of the delicious cheesecake - is a must try spot. I love the Christmas decor throughout, because even when it isn't the Christmas season something about holiday decor lifts the spirits. So, other than cupcakes, another one of my all time favorite foods is...CHEESECAKE!!!! And Bassano's is just another place to testify that you don't need to travel all the way to New York for some of the delicious, tasty treat! The very first time I've been made aware of Bassano is through a Yelp Event, and ever since having experienced it, I knew I had to come back for more. It's some of the best cheesecake I've ever had, with my personal favorite being the Charley Belcher cheesecake. It's caramel macchiato flavor really sets it apart from other cheesecakes. And the devil, for lack of a better word, is in the details, and each slice of their cheesecakes is very carefully crafted. The Charley Belcher cheesecake is coffee flavored, with a candy coated espresso bean on top, and a caramel drizzle over top. It might be my favorite cheesecake of all time, really, since it combines my favorite flavor in a delicious cheesecake. The store itself is absolutely adorable too with indoor and outdoor seating, all decorated in time for the holidays. They allowed my little Muffin into the shop, so I get to enjoy my cheesecake slice inside the store with my dog and really appreciate the Christmas decor. The server there was very friendly, and gave me the good news that apparently, they are not leaving the area (earlier this year, that was the news, but I guess they worked out.) Relieved to know this because I know for a fact that I will be back to try more treats. I notice they have cupcakes and cookies too, so I'll be sure to get one, but I just love the Charley Belcher cheesecake so much, that I think that'll have to be my usual. read more

Went there to see Shaun Hopper and Chris Barbosa for their Christmas light show. The inside was decorated so adorable with so much Christmas flare. Outside was lovely. The lights were decked out for Christmas and the small stand for beer & wine was always moving with lovely service. We had our puppy with us and one of the staff members even gave him a piece of bacon. So sweet. At the end of the performance they did a free raffle and handed everyone watching a ticket to have a chance. Awesome outside venue and lovely atmosphere. My family and I are in town and we saw Bassano's and was excited to give it a try. We were welcomed graciously and the staff were so kind and informative in answering all our questions as well as giving recommendations. My wife and I decided to share the bagel and lox with hash browns for the kids and a slice of Original NY Cheesecake. To wash it down we ordered a cappuccino, iced caramel macchiato, and chocolate milk for the kids. The bagel and lox was very delicious. You can immediately tell that the bagel sets itself apart from the competition. If you've had an authentic NYC bagel, you will not be disappointed here. The hash browns were seasoned perfectly but a bit on the soggy end (wish it was much more crispy). With the coffee we noticed they used "Joffrey's brand". If you're a Disney fan then you know. The coffee here blows away Starbucks. We were very impressed. Along those lines, the chocolate milk the kids loved as well as my wife and I were surprised how delicious it was from what we have tried. We were able to enjoy a quick breakfast in their little dining area with a handful of tables, a TV, a nice fire pit, and lots of decorations from the holidays. While my boyfriend's parents visited this weekend, we ended up doing a little food tour of Safety Harbor including dessert here. Admittedly upon entry I had concerns because it is *tight* coming in through that front door. The display case of cheesecakes is front and center, perfect for tempting your taste buds, but also forcing a single file zigzag to the register with the other coolers in front. However, there was a cozy sitting area inside just beyond the register, and multiple seating spots outside too, so don't let that initial squished feeling deter you! We had eaten our fill of appetizers and meals at the Tiki Tavern prior, but that didn't stop me from drooling over the variety of options. I was thoroughly tempted by the peanut butter cup inspired one, and as a former New Yorker, nothing draws me in more than a classic NY cheesecake with a fruit swirl like strawberry or raspberry, both which they had. My boyfriend & I ended up splitting the Big & Nasty Oreo as he's a huge cookies & crème fan, his dad got the mint Oreo, and his mom opted for the cannoli cheesecake. Her's came with an adorable baby cannoli on top too! His dad also got a double espresso & his mom had a glass of red wine, both which they enjoyed. From the chalkboard menus, it also was clear they had a great variety of coffee, teas, and wines. The staff was nice, efficient, and personable. Had a weird experience here. First off, the cashier seemed flustered and disorganized. They didn't take a name for my order or give me a number or anything. This didn't bother me that much but is some backstory for later. I was here with friends and they had already received and finished their food. I don't mind waiting but the cashier made me worried if my order was missed was all. I very politely asked the waitress/food runner about my order. Honestly was just worried it got missed, didn't care how long it took. The chief/manger/owner? (Unsure who it was) brought my food out. He made a snarky comment very loudly how this was not McDonald's and he has to hand cut everything and he had 20 orders before me. It didn't feel apologetic at all, was definitely snarky and to make a scene/make me feel like a bad customer. I said "oh no worries at all" and carried on taking it for what it was - someone's having a bad or busy morning. I wouldn't have even come to Yelp if it wasn't for what happened next. He went over to another table and scolded them (very loudly and publicly) for having another businesses drinks in their restaurant. They said "oh well we did order food" and he said something along the lines of it being bad for business and not to do it again. I get it right, it's annoying, but the approach was totally off. It was rude and honestly felt hostile. It killed the vibe. And quite frankly you're a cheesecake cafe. If someone grabbed a coffee before walking along and seeing your business, you should be HAPPY they came in to give you business for your cheesecake or food - they probably didn't know you had coffee. A better approach might be to say, "hey we have really good coffee here too, you should give it a try next time!" I just don't know how that experience would make someone want to come back. Just disappointed in the service as we were having a good morning. Maybe he was under a lot of stress as it seemed like a busy morning but it was just odd. Sooo Bassano Cheesecake is a hidden gem that could be easily missed unless you have a dessert eyeball like me. Ha. While walking around Safety Harbor we couldn't pass by without tasting some dessert. This shop is too cute on the inside, there is a sitting area with games. I could see myself reading a book, eating some dessert, and drinking coffee here but we just had some dessert. Found this hidden gem in Safety Harbor today. It is on Main St and welcomes you with a case of their different cheesecakes as soon as you walk in. The ambience is warm and inviting with a room of comfortable seating where you can enjoy their delicious food. We were warmly welcomed and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The variety of cheesecake slices that we chose was masterfully put together as we waited. We chose 12 of their flavors since we could not decide on just one or two. The cheesecake is delicious and I can't wait to try the rest of them. We are excited to introduce this place to our friends soon. read more
