Dog had been groomed for over 10 yrs at this location .main groomer quit couple a months ago leaving one groomer. Appt was made over 3 months ago groomer called in sick. I was advised she would call the next day. Did not call until 2 days later left a message stating she had an opening the next day and to call back, I called no one answered left a msg. Groomer called back stating appt had been filled and could not take him until Oct. Totally unacceptable. Will never be back which I sure they can care less with this type of business practice and attituted of the groomer. read more

My Cairn terrier loved going to DOGS Daycare for daycare. He was happy to be there each time I dropped him off. I dropped him off as early as 6 AM and picked him at up as late as 6 PM. Never had an issue with them; Brodie went there for about three weeks until I found a great woman who took care of Brodie in her home. read more

If you looking for Great Dog Groomer - Highly Recommend Stacey! We finally found our FAVORITE groomer in Smithfield. Stacey groomed Cannoli over a year ago but at a different location in Newport News. Once I knew she worked at D.O.G. D&S, there was no hesitation on my part to drive 45mins to groom them there. So, you know that uneasy feeling when you drop off your dog, maybe even cross your fingers hoping they look decent when you pick them up. Well, you won't get that feeling here. Stacey has the golden touch - no choppy haircuts here. I loved watching Cannoli run down the hallway, prancing and smiling looking all nice and pretty when I pick her up. I could tell Cannoli likes her haircut too. Unlike, my other lil puppy, Vino, not so much. He likes looking like a mop head. This is the first time Stacey cut Vino's hair. I wanted a mohawk and I LOVE-LOVE how it turned out (even my husband loved it). Vino looks so handsome! I wanted it blue but he won't sit still for her (and that's thanks to my husband, he loves blowing in his face to play fight with him) I have wanted a Mohawk on Vino for awhile now but I didn't trust anyone except for Stacey. I'm so happy and relieved to have found her again. Here is my earlier Yelp Review from the first time I went to Stacey (Edited Version): My Havanese, Cannoli, is very squeamish about going to the groomer. However, this is the very first time she wasn't barking or crouching down when I drop her off or pick her up. She looks so happy and was even playful when I picked her up - that has NEVER happen at a grooming salon. She obviously approves of Stacey. My biggest regret is not coming here sooner. I went to two other groomers locally and a few more in VB and they weren't the best cuts. I felt so at ease as soon as I walked in. I described the cut I wanted and even brought a picture of the cut. She told me she would be ready in a couple hours, and sure enough less then 2 hours later I got the call. I been to plenty of groomers here and in Chicago and I could say I've never had such faster service; most groomers usually give a big window of 4-6 hours. When I arrived she looked perfect!! The cut didn't look exactly like the picture but Stacey went on to explain how the cut wasn't for a Havenese and she did tailor her cut for Havanese features. -------- I can't say much about D.O.G. Daycare except the facility looks and smells super clean. We've only been there for grooming services. I've have met the ladies at front desk and both were very polite and friendly. read more

My dogs absolutely love D.O.G.S! They get boarded here from time to time and I am completely comfortable leaving our fur babies in their hands. They have taken care of our dogs even when they were young puppies. The place is very clean and the staff is very loving, my dogs know all of them and get excited when we pull up! Prices are reasonable. read more

We took our two dogs here and well, I wasn't impressed at all. When you call no one ever answers and they claim they call back if you leave a voicemail, but I had before and no one called back. I finally got in touch and was a little off put by the attitude of the woman on the phone, but preceded to make an appointment for our temperament introduction.( pretty normal for dog daycares) When I had questions the woman acted and sounded annoyed, I tried asking questions like how many dogs they usually have and how many people are there to watch the dogs and just important questions to make me feel better about dropping them off, but she went in circles and didn't want to answer the questions so I stoped. Then when we handed our dogs leashes over one of my dogs was sniffing the statue up front and she pulled my one dog so hard ( he's only 30 pounds) he hit the steel gate and she didn't even look like she cared and I instantly regretted handing her the leashes, but I was like accidents happen and gave benefit of the doubt. When we picked them up I couldn't get anyone on the phone the door was locked no one was up there and no dogs where in the back ( when we dropped them off and picked them up we didn't see any in the play area outside and keep in mind it wasn't raining or bad weather) I tapped on the glass and finally someone heard me and brought my dogs but they came out of a room in the backs me my dogs still had energy which means they didn't get a lot of energy out. I've taken them to daycares since they were puppies and they are ALWAYS tired after words and pass right out so the fact that they still where high energy shows they were not outside running long. So we will not be returning. I do not feel confident with the experience we had. Hopefully they hire more people and have more professionalism in the future. NOTE: we did not do any grooming services so my review is only off of our experience that we paid for doggy daycare. read more

If I could give this place a 0 score I would. Sent my dog to get groomed today. My husband told the receptionist to tell the groomer not to have the dog shaved. He told her 3 times and told them to call his wife if they have to shave her. So I went to pick up Izzy and she was shaved. The groomer made a big excuse on why they had to shave her, stating she was matted, but she was not. Anyone can groom a dog by shaving them, a good groomer knows how to groom a dog without shaving. My point is, they need to learn GOOD customer service! They should have called me to inform me, but decided to go ahead with what THEY wanted to do. If they would of called me and told me she needed shaved I would of just picked her up and went somewhere else. I will never take my 3 dogs here again. It seems all they are concerned about is money. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Then they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to leave a tip, what a joke. There are to many other good groomers that are in the area that we will go to now. read more

We had taken our Beagle puppy and Boston to this location once to board for a little over two weeks. We were taking a deserved vacation. The Beagle was only 6 months old and the Boston was 4 years old. We had asked for them to be kept away from other dogs because the Beagle was so young. We wanted their play time to be just together. We were told that they would both have a bath and toe nails clipped. When we picked them up we noticed that the beagle had 2 puncture spots on his back leg. They also did not have their toe nails clipped and no bath. We asked them about the puncture spots on him. They said the hadn't seen it. Well if he got a bath etc. they would have seen it. Denied it all. The beagles personality had changed. He was so hard to deal with when we took him home. We had to hire a dog trainer who stated to us that his problems could be from his experience at DOGs. We had to spend a lot of money to help him and us out. I wouldn't ever recommend them. It's been some time since any remarks have been made. Wonder why. read more
