Heard of this place from a friend of a friend today & my son was in DESPERATE need of a cut & was tired of going to Snip Its because to tell the truth they really cant do a good fade... So when I heard they could do a good fade here, Off I went on my to visit... Was with the BFF in Marlborough & we decided lets get the boys cuts.. I called & spoke with Drew and asked if they take walk ins & was told to come right in... Got there & was seated right away & all the boys in the shop were decent, its as any barbershop around the way is, Momma jokes, shit talking... So then it comes to the haircut part... Well my 2 year old isnt the best with patience & as I mentioned has only had haircuts at snipits where there are bubbles & lollipops.. So he was ok for the first few minutes & then came the tears & SCREAMS... Yeah he cried the whole time & Drew was great he might have been totally pissed but he didnt show it & was really patient with my son who didnt sit still... He got lined up really well, a Faux Hawk & a really decent fade.. I will definitely be back to visit the shop again when it grows out! I figure I cant let the bad experience of it stop me from going because then my son will never sit for a haircut, but if I keep going maybe he will get used to it! I was looking for a place to get a haircut after moving back to the area and I kept driving by this place thinking I should give it a shot. I'm glad I did. Derek (The D in D-Roxx) is totally laid back and a great guy. He was easy to talk to and very relaxed. The place itself is set up with two flat screens constantly tuned to good stuff. ESPN usually. My first visit was during football season and he had NFL Network on the TVs on mute as we listened to Sirius XM fantasy sports radio. The haircut itself was great. Derek has a ton of experience and knows his trade. He originally went to beauty school before going to barber school and then training with a bunch of specialist-cut guys before opening his own place. He's been going strong for six years. I know this sounds like I'm writing an ad for him, but this is just stuff he told me while I was shooting the shit with him in the chair. He trimmed my beard which had always been weirdly lopsided, did a straight razor shave and finished with a hot towel on my face. It was great. I was kind of hesitant to go into D-Roxx in case it was kind of too thug life for me, but it's completely the opposite. Relaxed, fun and great value for the money. I think this is the new version of a barbershop for a younger generation. It's not a couple of 80-year old guys making you look like you're joining the navy. This is a full-service shop for anyone who likes a good haircut and a good time. The second time I walked in, Derek greeted my by name and we picked up right where we left off. I've been to a few barber shops in town and this would be the best by far!!! They welcome walk-ins but i like to personally book my appointment. The owners name is Derrick and he is very professional and works great with kids (my son has gone to him since day one). I love the fact that he uses a straight razor to line me up or and makes it tight. They also sell different kinds of gels geared towards men. It is very clean inside with a great new look and has three TVs to watch while waiting. I would highly recommend D-ROXX to anyone of all ages. read more

I was in search for a new barber because my previous barber that I went to for roughly 13 years found a new job and vanished without a trace. I assumed I would be in for a ride in finding a new barber because my previous barber, I thought, set a high standard. However, I found D-Roxx here on Yelp and I decided to check it out and I feel very fortunate that I did. Had a great welcome and Derick, the owner, is a pretty cool dude who can give you one hell of a haircut. He did not rush and he used a lot of tools that I never knew barbers even considered using. I am very picky about how I like my fade haircut, but he exceeded my expectations. Derick is now my new barber and I could not be any happier. read more
