I was in the mood for something different, and while walking around CocoWalk, my friends and I decided to give this place a try. ​From the start, the host was incredibly welcoming and did a fantastic job explaining the menu. As we walked in, everyone--from the bartender to the staff--greeted us with warm smiles. Our server, Ivan, was exceptionally pleasant, attentive, and friendly throughout the night. ​For our meal, we ordered the prosciutto and burrata, which was the perfect portion for three people. The fig ravioli was delicious, balancing a sweet fig filling with savory, tiny prosciutto crumbles on top. The tortellini, stuffed with prosciutto in a creamy sauce, was equally amazing. ​The real showstopper, though, was the tiramisu. It was prepared tableside right in front of us--a total spectacle! It wasn't overly sweet, just absolutely perfect, and it brought pure happiness to my taste buds. ​The restaurant itself is beautiful, with plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. Fantastic dining experience last night. Matthew, the incredible server that took care of our family, really made our visit as seamless and enjoyable as it could've been; his recommendations and attention to detail should be studied by everyone in the hospitality industry. I was so excited about my reservation here. The menu sounded delicious; I could not decide what I wanted. The evening started out great. My friend and I were early so we sat at the bar. The restaurant is beautiful; the ambiance lovely. The bartender was busy but gracious and attentive nonetheless. I feel badly that I did not catch his name. The weather was still nice so we sat outside. At first, our server seemed good. He recommended one of the specials - a ravioli with foie gras and Gorgonzola. Sounded fabulous. I ordered that; my friend had the cacio y Pepe. We shared a beef carpaccio to start. That's when things went down hill. The carpaccio was tasty but too fatty to cut through. My plate was delicious but arrived room temperature and was too cold to finish within five minutes. I was disappointed but I would have been ok if our server had not been so bad. He disappeared for the better part of a half hour. Never asked us how our meal was. And actually gave us attitude when we mentioned to the busboy that we had been done for a while when he came to clear our plates. No surprise, when we got our bill, 20% tip was included. No doubt our server knew he could provide mediocre service and still get a great tip. I cannot recommend this place. Maybe with a different server it round gave Vern ok. read more

A recent group dinner to this beautiful restaurant in the heart of the Grove yielded a magnificent experience. The food was scrumptious. Everything we tried left us nodding our heads in delight. Our server and the rest of the staff were attentive, asking us if we wanted more of anything and refilling our water glasses. This Italian restaurant made an excellent impression on me during my visit a few weeks ago. The inside of the establishment was decorated so elegantly and the service was great by our bartender/server Alex. The decor inside was formal and a bit fancy so dress to impress. My date and I originally sat at the bar and then moved to a table after a couple drinks. The margaritas were awesome too and if you have a chance to sit with Alex be sure to do so! We ordered the arancini appetizer, Cacio de Pepe pasta, and the meat dish that were all just scrumptious. The pasta was mixed table side and we were offered black pepper and extra cheese. I love an old school Italian soundtrack and white table cloth service. It was such a pleasant night and I would 10/10 recommend next time you're in coconut grove. Great spot! read more

Had such a great experience this weekend! I went for a friends birthday and we had a huge party & this restaurant accommodated us perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious and the vibes were immaculate. But what truly made the night stand out was the service. Juan was amazing, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our entire party. Superb overall. The food was delicious. Started with their tuna tartar appetizer and had their snapper as well that was sliced thinly and perfectly seasoned. My wife had the ravioli with a fig Gorgonzola sauce and filling. Delightful. I had the Tagliatelle with mushrooms. Wow and to ended it the Tiramisu made table side. Spectacular overall. Last night, we tried out Da Angelino, the new spot that took over where Eva, the Mediterranean place, used to be in the grove. Da Angelino was opened for the first time the night before and is owned by the Ariete hospitality group, same guys who own Ariete, Chuggs, and Taurus in the grove. The restaurant was pretty busy, which we were happy to see, but the overall ambiance came off a little tacky. Lighting felt a bit yellow and bright. Couldn't hear music, loud environment, good amount of kids around. This is all fine, just not the greatest spot if you're looking for something modern for date night. For an Italian restaurant in Coconut Grove, it just didn't feel super vibey. Host and server were very friendly. We started with an order of Aperol Spritz and the bourbon-Aperol Spritz (AEREO DI CARTA)--it had a nice sweet-tart balance and I'd definitely order it again. Then moved to the Artichoke & feta dip with fried-style bread--crispy on the outside, soft inside. Dip was tasty. Mini calzones--okay, but felt like something you'd pop out of your freezer at home. Not all that. Carpaccio de carne (beef carpaccio)--this was our favorite app. Fresh and sophisticated; you could tell some care went into it. Pasta with octopus ( STROZZAPRETI & POLPO) fresh octopus, tangy red sauce, very good. Cacio e pepe--superb. They toss it right in front of you with cheese, and it was definitely our favorite dish. If we come back, it'd only be for pastas (and maybe a drink)--we'd skip the appetizers. The vibe felt more traditional Italian, lots of older folks and kids, not exactly modern or trendy. Unbelievably YUMMY!! Excellent quality food and wonderful service. Great understated, elegant vibe. Marc the bartender is so accommodating and very attentive. He makes the beat espresso martinis ever. Try the lamb ragu; it is totally amazing! And it comes with a lamb chop. Very well priced at $24 for a large portion of the pasta and delicious chop. The arugula salad was delicious, very fresh and ample. We also had the Rib eye special which was Prime quality and worth every penny. You will not be disappointed. We stumbled upon this new spot in CocoWalk and it was an amazing experience. We sat at the bar and met the best bartender, L Muñeco, and the owner was sitting a few seats down. He took extraordinary care of us. We started with the cheese board, the whipped ricotta with truffle and the pistachio cheese were unique and delicious. We were given a complimentary carpaccio which was paper thin, the freshest olive oil drizzle. We tried two pastas and I couldn't decide which was better. Angelo has done a GREAT job in turning a once empty space into a prime "TO GO" place in the Grove! My only credibility is that I have been in the neighborhood for over 35 years. We started with the Vitello Tonnato, which was incredibly delicate and flavorful, then shared the Raviolo al Foie Gras--rich, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Everything is good about them! Truly needed in the grove, not putting down any of our solid restaurants that still stand but, we need more of the fine dining standard. I must say they're up there. I was having absolutely NOOOOO expectations, I WAS READY for a wine glass and to critique! (That's the honest truth). Boy was I blown out of little pants! There was not one dish that wasn't absolutely incredible. The dessert came with a show so that was fun and the manager. Filipo was extremely accommodating. Staff was incredible. Came here for my graduation celebration. Initially they were very fast to seat us and take our orders but then after that everything went down hill. Food took about an hour to arrive and was sub par. My gnocchi were room temperature. My sisters $75 steak came with the wrong sides and by the time they bought the correct side we were all done eating and just ready for the check. Yesterday we had lunch here. It was an elegant and delightful experience. The service was way above expectations, and the food was incredible, several notches above our usual Miami Italian restaurant. We chose to order off the regular menu, foregoing the Executive Lunch prix fixe options of $39, simply because we did not want to eat that much. Those options looked great. We ordered the lamb ragu rigatoni and the pasta with clam sauce. We shared dishes and I can't say which one I enjoyed more. Both meals were delicious. The clam dish was served tableside. Our waiter twirled the pasta and arranged the clams and sauce on top with great elegance. The tiramisu was beyond description, again served at the table and divine. All in all, the service was impeccable, very friendly, and efficient. We sat outside as the weather was mildly warm. My glass of rose wine was just what I wanted. The Italian beer was a typical lager according to my companion. Both of our servers answered our questions about their Italian backgrounds with enthusiasm, encouraging visits to both Florence and Naples. Some of the other customers were speaking Italian which proves to me that Da Angelino's food is authentic, way above the ordinary here in the US. We parked in the adjacent parking garage and had a little trouble finding our car. Next time we will pay more attention to where we put our vehicle! There will definitely be a next time! We were very excited to go here after researching restaurants in Coconut Grove. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Our waiter was so animated and fun. Cocktails were delicious! For food, we got the special carpaccio; but sadly the fish was tough and the dish lacked citrus. We also got the zucchini blossoms which were delicious and stuffed to perfection. The strozapetti with octopus was incredible - unlike any pasta sauce that we've had before. Linguini with clams was okay. Highly recommend the table side tiramisu. Overall, the food and drinks were good - but the prices were a bit higher than comparative Italian restaurants. read more

Ambiance: The ambiance was very nice -- the atmosphere and décor were definitely on point. Service: Unfortunately, the service was among the worst I've experienced for the price point -- easily bottom three. There was zero attention to detail: no pre-bussing between courses, the waiter seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and we had to wave him down multiple times. For what you pay here, you expect much more attentiveness. Cocktail service was a mess from the start. My wife ordered an espresso martini, and when I asked what vodka they use, the waiter said Smirnoff. For an $18 cocktail, that was disappointing. I quickly intervened and asked for Tito's instead. Then I ordered an old fashioned -- no question about what bourbon I preferred. Not a dealbreaker, but again, these small touches matter at this level. Midway through, our waiter disappeared, and another server took over for the food order. No one offered wine until I asked for a list myself. Once ordered, that part went smoothly -- but overall, we felt ignored most of the night. For entrées averaging $30-$40, I expected far better service. Food: The food was underwhelming. Bread service was basic, and there were no small plates for the olive oil -- not a big deal, but noticeable. The arancini were greasy -- not terrible, but far from great. My spaghetti vongole was average at best. The presentation from a beat-up pan felt unnecessary, and the dish itself needed more clam sauce. I still finished it -- maybe because I was hungry -- but it wasn't memorable. My wife ordered the mushroom tortellini, which she didn't finish and didn't enjoy -- no trace of truffle flavor. Our friends had the cacio e pepe, and again, the tableside cheese-wheel presentation felt more like a gimmick. Across the board, everything was under-seasoned; the salt shaker made too many rounds at our table. Overall: We won't be returning. I genuinely wanted to like this place -- the ambiance sets the right mood -- but the service and food didn't live up to the price or location. This isn't meant to bash, just honest feedback. For what you pay, you should expect a more polished, attentive, and flavorful experience. read more
