I really wanted to love this salon because my first Russian manicure here was excellent. The technician did an amazing job, my natural nails were not damaged, and my manicure lasted a full 4 weeks exactly as a Russian manicure should. That's why I became a returning client. Unfortunately, my last two appointments have been completely different. Within 4 days of my most recent appointment, one of my nails chipped and broke on the corner (photo attached). The sharp edge kept catching in my hair. I went back to the salon, and instead of fixing the issue or acknowledging that something was wrong, I was told this was "normal." They simply filed it down, handed me a nail file, and told me to file it myself if it happened again. It happened again two days later on another nail, and now, only 1 week and 6 days after my appointment, another nail has broken. Other nails are already lifting and the polish is separating as well. This is not normal for a properly done Russian manicure. I've been getting Russian manicures for over six years at different salons, and I have never had nails breaking, chipping, or lifting within days. When done correctly, they last 4-6 weeks without lifting or breaking. What makes this even more frustrating is that the salon itself advertises that their manicures maintain a clean, refined look for 3-4 weeks. My experience wasn't even close to that. For $140-$160 per manicure, this level of quality is unacceptable. Even more disappointing was being told that these problems were "normal" instead of taking responsibility or offering a proper solution. A premium service should come with premium workmanship and customer service. The photos speak for themselves. I hope this feedback helps the salon improve its consistency because my first experience proved they are capable of doing beautiful work. I have gone to this nail salon 2 times and they never disappoint! My first appointment, there was a delay, but they were able to take me within the hour and offer a discount due to the inconvenience which is a win for me (emergencies happen). I've had two nail techs and both did a beautiful job. My first visit was with Tata and I did a French mani with hard gel. She did great! Second visit was with Victoria and I did the donut glazed nails with regular gel. She also was amazing! This nail salon's attention to detail is unmatched in Brickell. My nails are always looking so clean and pretty. Yes this salon is going to be more pricier than most, but they take a more healthy approach on your nails and these manicures last 3 weeks vs 2. They also spend almost 2 hours per visit just for manicure alone. My nails have never been stronger. Definitely my go to nail salon from here on out. read more

If you're not familiar with that style of manicure: it's a dry manicure, e.g. no water is being used. They use an electric file to remove gel polish and tidy up the cuticles. This is the safest method to avoid cuts or infections. Plan around 90 minutes for the manicure. The salon is located in Brickell. You can park at the Plaza building and get a discounted valet rate if you mention your appointment. Upon entering they offer you a beverage. The vibe is very calm and relaxing. No star! I have gone to this salon for 2 or 3 years and same technician for about a year. Yesterday I had the worst experience. Waiting over 15 mins and no one approached me to say anything, I had to leave by a certain because I had a meeting. They over filed the top of my nail and the cuticles. The last time I went the woman there was super cranky. I've been doing Russian manicure for the past 10 years consistently I've never had such a poor experience in my life!!!!!! They damaged and ruined my nails. First of all I felt something was wrong during my manicure. The woman who was doing my nails hurt me multiple times removing my gel and then she didn't use machine to do the cuticles but old school nail clippers (such a red flag) but i needed mani urgently before my work trip and since I've never had bad experience with Russian manicure and it was the last time slot I could do it I didn't stop ( I should have). Then she put double amount of gel right away and I only dried my color once (they always do in two separate layers and dry each of them separately). I confronted her she convinced me because of this specific gel it has to be done like this. I went home and a few of my nails were hurting, to the degree I woke up from pain at night. I had a flight early morning next day but my nails keep hurting for my whole work trip and I had to take pain medications for 3 days. I notified the salon and said it never happened to me before and I feel like I have an infection even though outside it looked fine. They asked for a pic I sent them they said it wasn't an infection. My manicure barely lasted 3 weeks (typically with Russian mani it last 4+ weeks perfectly just grows out and you need to do it cause you have too much of new nail out) with this one almost all of my nails broke week 2 (on the sides). Fast forward I couldn't do it anymore went to take them off and I have blood and rotten looking nails under gel - so disgusting I want to cry. I would never step my foot inside this place ever again please stay away, so many other places in brickell are much better. STAY AWAY!!!!!! read more

This was my first time at this nail salon. As a new client I should be told of all the extra charges. I was not told that adding chrome would be extra, that having long nails costs extra, nail polish removal is extra, and having two people working on me at the same time (which I didn't ask for) was extra. Went back after a long break and it's still a SCAM. When it's time to pay, there are mysterious charges you've never heard of. I called to book mani pedi at the same time. Nobody said a word about there being a $25 change for this. They never charged this in the past and why do I have to pay when it costs them no more time or product. Plus doing it at the same time ended up being miserable and so physically uncomfortable they should discount the prices just because it's such an uncomfortable arrangement. So I have my appointment - they start late of course like in the old days they are never on time, it takes nearly 2 hours for a simple mani, and I go to checkout and am told about a fee. Never heard of this fee before and certainly not when I booked on the phone. The rude girl at the desk says they "always" tell people about this extra $25 fee. Well they didn't tell me when I booked and only say it once you are paying. And she then said as a "courtesy" she will waive the fee like I owed her thanks. No- the "courtesy" is telling people about mysterious and hidden fees ahead of time. The prior time I went they tried to scam me by saying color costs more than neutral which is why I stopped going. Called Salon Trini for a gel manicure and gel pedicure. I ended up with a bill from Da Beauty Bar for $179.40. Apparently, when the front desk took my card to charge the amount, I allowed a 20% tip not thinking that I would be charged $179.40 by any means. Failed to mention the outrageous price of $65 for a gel manicure and $85 for a gel pedicure. The mani/pedi was BASIC, nothing special. The store does not make it clear that Da Beauty Bar is subleasing space inside the salon. You cannot see it from the outside and not from the inside, unless you count some small neon light as a sign. I had a flight to catch and did not have time to argue this stupidity in person, but wish I did. The price list they gave me has false information, they charged me as if I had a Russian Nail Service as you can see in the photo. Gave me a horrible looking receipt for whatever reason. Also, they charge a fee if you do not pay in cash. $7.00???? Wow. First sign of a scam. Horrible. If you want to get ripped off head to this place. If you want a beautiful Russian Manicure head to MyAgnes Salon in Coral Gables. Trust me you won't get ripped off there and they actually have a BEAUTIFUL salon, comfortable chairs, and competent owners. I've been coming here for two or three years. They always do an excellent job but you need to choose the right technician. The difference between their level of expertise is big. Anastasia, Lana and Marianna do an excellent job. But I did my nails with Karina today and the manicure did not even compare. The gel was chunky and uneven, she missed the corners and there are spots everywhere. It looks like she's just learning. Even the toes for French had a big line and super chunky. This was not worth $180. The only reason I said yes it's because I needed a last minute appointment before having a baby tomorrow. I went in for a manicure today, I checked both theme price online and price displayed at the store front before my treatment after my treatment I was charged something different and it doesn't match the price in the menu. A regular manicure with normal polish that took less than 20 minutes, they charged me $70 + tax & tip, and when I confronted the front desk lady ( who btw has the worst attitude) said they changed the prices which they can't do without notice. Legally they need to change their menu prices everywhere and infront the client. Obviously they don't believe in consumer rights. I've never tried a russian e-manicure before and but don't think I'll go back to regular gel manicures again. While the cuticle work was a bit painful and stinged at times, the final result is worth it. Alisa was super detail oriented, highly skilled and asked me to check every finger every step of the process to ensure I was happy with the results. It's a bit more pricey than a regular gel manicure but I was at the salon for over 2 hrs, so the time and labor definitely justifies the cost, imo. Also, everyone at Da Beauty Bar was really attentive and friendly. Highly recommend! I wish I lived in Miami so I can come back again and have this be my regular spot. read more
